These are great. I loved how the guy asked exactly what I would have asked about the moves differences.

Georgie is cool as fuck. Nice to see you guys work out together. Any chance we can see a LIVESTREAM of a regular class night? I'd love to see what that looks like. Thanks, bro!

I love this throw over sasae because I get countered alot when I get in close. Might change once I improve a bit though :P Clearly Sintaro is great in close.

Besides where the foot is the near the knee or much lower isn't one main differences when the attack happens? In sasae before he can make a step and in hiza before his foot touches the ground, or the other way around i am not sure.
@wikingagresor3 жыл бұрын
From my understanding of the mechanics of these throws, the best effect for sasae is a moment right before uke's foot touches the ground. When it comes to hiza guruma you want him to have full weight on the leg you are attacking. You are trying to 'assist' him in his movement, then create a pivot point around his knee and 'wheel' him over it to the ground.

Different timing between sasae and hiza, dont u think?

I use a 4 corners offense generally, osoto, ouchi, taiototoshi, sasae, however I'm absolutely crap at taio. Any suggestions as a replacement alternative for taio in that combo.
@ahfmobile3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't matter, the mere threat is sufficient for Uke to become weak in another direction. If they react to (say) ouchi then they set themselves to be thrown with tai-o even if it is not your best attack.

Appreciated!

Harai goshi is nice together with osoto, since you can jump around while being attached to the leg (both ways). However, uchi mata goes well with ouchi and transitions nicely into taio again. So those two may be an option.

@@cerotidinonWhen I was a Judoka, 50 years ago, I found Tai Otoshi difficult. I think my large size and long legs were the problem. I developed Harai Makikomi, which became my favourite. It suited my legs, strength and weight. My opponents had difficulty defending it. All these years later, I can still remember the exhilaration of feeling my opponent fluttering like a flag above me.
