A simple animatic I did for a sociology class. It's not meant to be spectacular but I do hope it works for it's intended purpose.
Critiques will be accepted but this animation will be left alone for a while, I may return to it someday but for now I'll let it stew.

God, now this makes me question my identity a lot more. It thoroughly and efficiently summarizes gender in an understandable tone, and I appreciate that the artist took all the detail into account. At the same time, I don’t know about if I should remain being a boy or just explore myself a bit more, because if I do, everyone in my life would turn on me. It simply isn’t respected in my family, and it’s making me divided. Also for clarification, I don’t know if I’m trans, cis, or just confused. I am not uncomfortable as a male at the moment, but the idea of being the opposite gender paints a beautiful picture in my head. I just wish gender was easier for me to handle, like this animation. It’s just a lot for me to think about. Sorry if I bothered or disturbed some of you, I kinda needed to vent. I don’t know if what I’m feeling is normal, right or wrong, or something else. If it is wrong to some of you, I’m sorry.

They/them are literately considered both plural pronouns and gender neutral one; referring to a group of male and female individuals cannot simply be "hims" or "hers", since that's improper, and there was no way of assuming who was in a group of what gender. If you didn't know someone's gender (male or female respectively, speaking in terms of how people from the past viewed the gender spectrum), you would simply call them "they/them", as I just did.

I'm thinking about all the different responses and interpretations people have commented on this video, the memes, the song lyrics, the genuine heartfelt trans and enby people's stories about how the cartoon actually helped them on the path to self discovery, and that each comment is a tale of so many people's collective decision to put into words how someone truly *feels* in the time, but I don't think that should be where it stops. When breaking them down to the cores, I identify more strongly with In The Virtual End than the concepts of masculinity or femininity. I was passionate about how linkin park and HL2 made me *feel* before ever hearing about trans identity or gender dys/euphoria. My friend showed me in the virtual end for the first time today and it's made me *feel* unlike anything else in years, the way that genuinely beats words out of reality, I simply don't *feel* euphoric with any definitively masculine or feminine appearances, practices, identities, or at this point, even putting myself under any umbrella of gender. My heart just isn't there, and realising this makes me think I should start going where it *is*. People can live their whole lives identifying *with* their passions, when we could identify *as* our passions. We could all *be* so much more. With every question of someone's validity in and outwith queer spaces, every parent that refuses to understand their queer child's identity, every law being put in place to restrict bodies, minds, art, movement of people, joy is being snatched out of hands. Passion has to rise above them, and that's what the hammer and nail in this video represent to me, acting purely on where your heart takes you, dismantling the structure that oppresses you, and finding that you will always find company and love in some form when going your way, no matter what. All this sparked from a meme video, maybe that's where my passion lies. Thank you Shii, Ray, Chester, Mike, and everyone who was witness to this wonderful moment in the internet, here's to millions more ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤∞
