Learn how to make Mutton Pickle / Gosht Ka Achar / Shikari Mutton Achar Recipe at home prepared by Ravi in his own style.
The name "Shikari Achar" is given because this is a 50 year old recipe. Original & Authentic way to make Pickle. This is a time when my father used to visit "Chirola" house. Chirola is a royal house in the Gwalior state. This was a royal house with all kinds of luxuries including elephants and king had magistrate powers.
My father used to visit this place where he used to meet his friend, Pratap Singh Ji Chirola. He used to stay there for 10-15 days and hunting was common.
During hunting expedition, they used to stay in jungle for long time, hence the cooks of the royal house used to prepare this Pickle (achar) for the Rulers / Kings that can be preserved and does not rot for many days.
The same recipe I have got from Ujjain (Chirola house shifted to Ujjain) by Padmini Chirola (daughter of the son of my father's King Friend) and I cooked the same for you.

Ingredients :-
1. Mutton (मांस) - 1/2 Kg (soft boneless pieces of meat)
2. Mustard Oil (तेल) - 100 ml
3. Turmeric (हल्दी) - 1 tsp
4. Cloves (लौंग) - 8
5. Salt (नमक) - 1 tbsp
6. Yellow Mustard (पीली सरसों) - 1 tbsp
7. Ginger (अदरक) - 1 piece
8. Red Chilli Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) - 2 tbsp
9. Whole Red Chilli (साबुत लाल मिर्च) - 4
10. Lemon (नींबू) - 1
11. Black Mustard (काली सरसों) - 1 tbsp
12. Curry Leaves (करी पत्ते) - 10 gm
13. Cumin Powder (जीरा चूर्ण) - 1 tbsp
14. Vinegar (सिरका) - 4 tbsp
15. Clarified Butter - 2 tbsp
