Some interesting Perez trivia. Do you remember he replaced Cody Garbrandt, who was going to fight for the flyweight title, for the Figgy fight? Also he has competed above flyweight through weight misses, scheduled bantam or catch weights in 13 of his 32 fights. Very surprised this isn’t a catchweight or bantamweight bout!

We both think he's special too. Even when he got the short-notice call up to fight Mason Jones, I assumed he would have been on the Contender Series anyway that year at the very least.
