I have the SL-M610 shift lever and it get stuck every 7.000-10.000km. The costs for new part are moderate, but the hazel when it breaks on a larger tour drives me crazy.

I am using the Shimano XT SL-M770 Mtn thumb Shifters 9 speed on my Surly LHT 52cm 2008 with no problems with the Shimano XT SL-M770 mtn thumb Shifters for Bicycle Touring and I was going to buy Deore SL-M590 mtn thumb Shifters 9 speed but I wanted Shimano XT SL-M770 Mtn thumb Shifters 9 speed over the Shimano Deore

Ever tried the Shimano Deore Dual-Control ST M530 9 Speed Levers? I think these are the only levers where you move the actual brake lever up and down to change gears. I have them on my touring bike and I love them but they don't seem to be that popular for some reason. Much prefer them to trigger shifters.

thanks for the vid! The shifter does not include the brake-puller. I have bar-end shifters with separated brake-pullers. I could change them for these ones, but what about the brake-puller? I hope you understand what I mean, well, just in case if you know how to.

Which 10 speed "Dynasis" shifter will be easiest to fit on road drop handlebars? I ask, because I want to use the 10 seepd 11-16 cassette on my road/"touring" bike and I have the RD-M786-SGS rear derailleur already. I know that this derailleur has a different ratio than road derailleurs, so that I can't use indexed road shifters. But, I wanna stick with the drop handlebars on this bike. The Shimano MTB shifter clamp is too narrow to fit on the slightly wider drop bars, I suppose I can use a small drum sander to make the hole wider? Any better ideas?

i am trying to replace some 510 shifters on my Trek 6000. I have 3 sprockets on front and 9 on back. Will the 610 work as a replacement? What else could i consider?

Its 2x10 and 2x means 2 chainrings in the cranks and 10 means 10 speed cogs so that means u have 20speed but u only have 10 gears 2x10=20

The shifter doesn't have number for the rear derailleur, my cassette is a 11speed. how do I know the gear I am riding on? ther is no sign or number, there is just a red needle.

By looking at the red needles position to see what gear you're in. If it's half way you know you're in 6th. Mothing nore to it

These are the 1.7 pull ratio. The new 1x Shimano's use a different pull ratio ( 1.1 iirc? ). So you could only use derailleurs from old 2x or 3x setups, not ideal for a 1x since you can't mount a large cassette that way. But you can use something like an l-twoo A7 or higher 10 speed derailleur which do support up to 52t iirc, and those L-twoo derailleurs are still using the 1.7 pull ratio so they work with the sl-m610 shifter. Reason I know: using A7 rd with a 52t cassette and sl-m610 shifter.
