Having a visual comparison of both pedals is incredibly helpful. Thank you very much.

I've been using T8000 for around 2 years, and I think I at least log 10000km on it. It's just too great, the flat side is so comfortable. I mostly like to ride road clipless if possible, then I will try to use mountain bike SPD and shoes for most of my longer commuter. But after I have T8000, I've been just riding flat side more and more even for 100km+ touring. And now T8000 for me is mine flat padel choice, it's just too comfortable and also grippy in raining, I do almost never use SPD side for commute anymore. I've also tested lots of flat padels and flat side of T8000 could be one of the best commute flat padel.

I have been using flat pedals since I started biking (which was a year ago), and at the same time refusing clipless systems for commuting safety concerns (horrible bike lane traffic). Just got myself a pair of T8000 for the coming 2024 Desafío China by La Vuelta. It is much much much more grippy than my previous flat pedal. I am still getting adapted to it and hopefully i can race better than last year LOL.

Very informative review. I've been riding spds for years and recently got a hybrid e-bike that comes with very slippery flat pedals. I just find riding without cleats so difficult - foot isn't in the right place, can't pull the pedal up to the right position to move off, etc. On the other hand there is no doubt it's convenient to be able to jump on the bike with normal shoes sometimes. I'm going to give these a try, and your video certainly helped to make a decision between the 8000 and 500.

Have had the T8000s on for a week now and very happy with my choice. My main reservation before getting them was the thought that the pedal would often be the wrong way up. But it doesn't seem to be a problem.

First used spd's in a norba race in 93 when my flats broke before the start and they were the only pedals available. Fun way to learn. They do sell click in flats for spd's incase anyone just wants to got that route.

Very nice video. Thank you. I had similar pedals to the EH-500 and i sold them cause the small size made my feet uncomfortable. I wear 45 eur shoes. I really wanna give hybrid pedals a chance again the T8000 look like a great option for both sides, either normal shoes or clipless.

Tq for making the comparison video. Great explaination. Maybe you can add/show some simple table to compare the size WxLxH and weight for both. Easy to have like to like compare. Greeting from 🇲🇾(maker country of the pedal)

Torn between the 2, but leaning towards the T8000 for my gravel bike.

Thanks! Currently have to decide between those two. I think I’ll let the price dictate which one I’m going ;)

I consider buying T800. What is your opinion of after few months?
@jeremyw.465 Жыл бұрын
I can very much recommend them! Since they are on the bike of my parents I haven't ridden them very often, but they are very good quality and they are serviceable and so will most likely last a long time!

@@jeremyw.465 Thanks for such a quick reply and helping me make up my mind. I couldn't decide between EH500 and T8000 but after review of yours I'm sure T8000 are more suitable for me. Keep developing your channel and Happy New Year!

Hi! The pedals look great and the review outcome's positive... anyway I've seen many pics of eh500 pedals being very rusty in 2nd hand marketplaces... did you experience the same? Thanks anyone is spending a few seconds to reply 🙂

Hey, I have been using the Pedals now for multiple years and mine don’t have any rust on them. That might be because I hardly ever leave my bike outside or in the rain…

It looks that the pedals were mounted with mounting paste and not as mentioned grease
@jeremyw.465 Жыл бұрын
That is true, sry for my mistake ;)
@Temporalplace Жыл бұрын
i guess grease would also work fine ? Whats difference ?

can be used for enduro bike?
@jeremyw.465 Жыл бұрын
Yes, all bikes or better all cranks have the same thread for Pedals and the wide platform is good for enduro ;)

I just bought a pair of PD T8000, but it weights 426g in total. what has changed inside ? 🤣
@jeremyw.4652 жыл бұрын
Hey Jerry, that is funny ha-ha. Well Schimano says that on their website (bike.shimano.com/de-DE/product/component/deorext-t8000/PD-T8000.html), I didn't actually weigh them myself in hindsight I perhaps should have done so^^ Thanks for letting me know I will check my stuff on my own in the future!

Some people were complaining pedals breaking in tours or after a third ride, after year etc, so i guess they changed something in them.
