Im an avid DIY'er but so many videos on KZbin that you'd THINK would be clear, and consice are really a bunch of animated anecdotal rubbish. Even from the top channels. Its like they intentionally leave out important information to mislead the viewer into errors. But this video is perfect! I can tell you're a real professional and craftsman who takes pride in your work. Methodical, patient, and clear step by step instructions. Im in the process of building my first road bike, and im so grateful to have found your channel. Thank you sir. Subscribed!

Absolutely one of the BEST videos to understand the mechanics, parts needed and all the little things that make a big difference in repairing the shifting system. I really liked the clear video shots and the explanations.

Very helpful video. Thanks. Appreciated the thorough explanation of every aspect of taking out the cable / inserting a new cable / and finally adjusting everything so the shifting is smooth with the new cable.

Thank you for such a detailed video. I have watched several and ended up destroying new cables with having to constantly experiment after vague instructions and what I assume are basic missed steps. Watched this and set up my rear derailleur first time.

Hi, Probably silly question. When i tweak barrel adjuster on a cog, will it affect all others cogs in the same way? Or do i have to tweak every single (troubleshooting) cog with barrel adjuster separately? Video @ 28:51

I've got the oddest indexing problem. I have 9spd Dura Ace downtube shifters, a long cage Shimano 105 RD, new inner and outer cable. Running a SRAM PG950 9 spd cassette with a SRAM 9 spd chain. I can get 9,8,7,6 to sync' just fine, but 1,2,3,4 won't work at all. Then if I adjust the cable tension I can force 1,2,3,4 to work, but 9,8,7,6 won't sync'. As far as I can tell everything should be compatible. I tried a Shimano XT 9psd cassette and still get the same trouble. I'm now hoping to find a friend with a 9spd road cassette, such as a 105. It's very much like the Dura Ace shifters are not moving the RD as far as is required. Anyone got an idea?

i have been looking into if different shifters are interchangeable, its seems not as all the different shifters will have different pull ratios set up for certain cassettes/derailleurs, this may be the issue, but could be something different entirely
