The stradic fl is by far better than any previous ones , mind u the cranking power is better than tp 5000xd , that alone made me woundering about the effect of the micromodule 2 , done extensive test with heavy n different lures. It’s the best for the price at least mean while .

Been researching now for a couple of hours and theres so many to compare to, that a part of me is having a hard time chosing which one that drives me to just get a bamboo stick with a fishing line. Honestly I am a Daiwa guy but I have these 2 reels in size 5000 as well 😁. And the truth is both reels are just very smooth and powerful. Personally I like the FL for the sensitivity of the drag.

Shimano failed on 3 things on this reel to make it a global home run. 1. No folding handle like on many and previous models. 2. No service port. 3. No reverse. I do not care for it but some will. Nice review.

1 - the non folding handle is actually an upgrade and results in less play in the handle joint more sensitivity and a stronger handle. 2 - service port is unessecary reel can be easily opened for service plus it is very well sealed so would not need to be serviced much 3 - no anti reverse switch results in one less water entry point and is desirable for every salt water angler. 4- everything you said is wrong with the reel is actually an improvement the reel is a global home run already

fl is the model of stradic i.e. stradic FK or Stradic FL (Released 2019), 4000 is the reel size and xg is the gear type i.e. pg = power gear (low gear ratio) , hg = high gear ratio and xg = extra high gear ratio.
