Never played SC2 competitive mode. Only play wing of liberty campaign.. After discovering your videos, i learned a lot from you, Lowko. Not just SC2 but also english skills and how to communicate with audience. Keep doing what u doing bro. I love Lowko channel and his cats..

…really does feel like Brood Lords need buffing like crazy. They’re too slow, they only hit ground, they aren’t tanky, and their attacks often have a multi-second pause before launching an attack, which means they’re basically only good against an opposing force that can’t close the distance or run away or fly. That big fight in Game 3 was a huge example: Skillous was fighting with his entire army, while Shin had to leave his Brood Lords behind because they just were too slow to close the distance and join the fight. And with nothing contesting the archons, they just shredded the corruptors. I’m not sure what the solution is. Movement boost for starters, maybe work on making their attack even moderately responsive? But you said it best, Lowko, the best T3 Zerg unit is the Zergling, and that’s not a great place for the race to be.

I like the buffs, it's a tiny bit faster, you do have to touch and go with them or they get sniped, but they zone mines and tanks and body block Archons, Immortal, etc. I loved what both players were doing, I was very impressed with skillous(?), very solid in spite of derping a conclave of HT to a Muta bait, and I luv SHIN, in spite of him sporadically throwing infestors and Vipers away. I think he made too many broods, they are relatively easy to counter in spite of their fearsome reputation, more of a mobile meatshield, then he threw away entire Congreases of Corruptor he needed to defend the broods, against 5 Tempest with 32 Archons underneath them. - spam parasites on that big fat momma ship, it stacks over time, and kills Colossus too, he'll have to die slow or go. Pushing on the ground with lurker/Hydra at the same time might proved a superior deathball.

They removed the bug with their attacks and then THEY REVERTED IT u cant make this shit up they left them with a bug because they are sooo broken they needed that 😂😂 balance counsil is a fucking circus

Additionally, ultras aren't a reliable endgame option. They're not especially bad, but they're easily countered. Zerg is in this weird spot where most of its endgame power is concentrated in the spellcasters. The fighting units kind of suck.

To help Zerg Late game, they should provide a flat 25% spell damage reduction for Ultralisks and Broodlords (so snipe, storm, widowmines, etc are less effective), and also buff their armour by 2. I don't think its the speed thats the issue, its just the fact that despite being so slow and expensive, they aren't tanky enough to justify.

24:31 It’s because Korea as a region has always been very scrappy. They typically try to bloody or even kill you earlier compared to other regions. So, naturally, all of the best Koreans have also learned to try to claw back after losing out in an early trade. Harstem has talked quite a bit about that. He once gave an anecdote about how he asked a Korean player for macro build-orders for Toss, and the Korean gave him a bunch of 2-base all-ins. He was just expected to expand out of them with the advantage if he failed to kill the opponent right then and there 😅

Speaking of toss being passive in mid game against Zerg, I think it just highlights the pivotal flaw in PvZ. Both toss and Zerg have units that cripple the other in either the mid or late game, which incentivizes the other to either win early or hold out for late game. Zerg get lurkers and vipers which are nuclear against mid game toss , but sky toss is nuclear against Zerg. So what ends up happening is early game feels balanced and fun, but mid to late game are an arms race that Protoss always wins unless Zerg is able to win the game during the mid game or with a timing attack. It makes the entire matchup feel off when you constantly have to think about their next tech, because there’s little to no hope of fighting the other once they get their next tech.

Its cool to look at the army compositions a bit closer here I sat here puzzling for zerg solutions the whole time and would think something like “the storms are bad… maybe more lings? No, the colossi solve that.” And going back and forth i think lowko is right about zerg needing a solution to some of these things (mainly archons as far as this game goes) Hear me out. Based on what I have seen, the best counter to a mothership is counterintuitively still Vipers. Sure, vipers can't abduct the mothership directly, but they can do it to surrounding units. In my mind the solution isn't less vipers, but more. Remove the other powerful units surrounding the mothership, and then snipe it with corrupters. I feel like on some level, Zerg players have been a little bit spoiled in the sense that they could previously hard counter a costly heroic unit, with way less resources invested. And now that this is no longer possible, it seems like Protoss is overpowered. It seems more to me that Zerg players just aren't adjusting properly.

i am loving these games since the last patch. people saying protoss would be too weak in the early without shield overcharge, that the few buffs on the mama ship wouldnt change much... and now we see them rollin, especially over the zerg... more like flying but whatever... cant wait to see how zerg will adapt to this, i hope some pro finds a way to "reinvent" the way to play this matchup

I think Shin could have won that fight if he had retreated after wiping out 75% of the Skytoss. He sacrificed half his corruptors to the Archons trying to take out the last 2 tempests. If he had let the remaining Tempests live, taken out the Archons with another unit, then moved in to finish off the Tempests - he would have traded quite well.

If the latest balance patch cripples Zerg late game then I’m against it (or at least the parts of it that have this effect). I respect the early and mid game but an army should advance towards its most sophisticated units and tech as the game progresses imo.

I wonder if people are just getting hungry for rts again. I've been watching a lot of sc2 and ra2 recently, lamenting the lack of a new competitive RTS.

I've played sc2 off and on for years. But in the past couple months I've noticed an enormous influx of grandmasters and masters players somehow playing in casual leagues. (Silver,gold,platinum, and often barcoded names.) i suck at sc2 but have fun usually. but for me it's ruining the fun of the game constantly being matched with people who've played literally 100k+ games and I have zero chance to win against. And when I see their records they are gm or masters league, yet playing in metal leagues. (Im on NA server) Even.more frustrating that I know nothing will ever be done to stop the smurfs, maphackers, and especially the MMR boost hacks, etc. I may be saying goodbye to sc2 soon. Glhf for the rest of you good enough, and patient enough to put up with sc2 in 2025
