For your information, the fourth form of shin Godzilla was not confirmed to be it's final form, they left it open ended to leave to the imagination. I like both versions of Godzilla for different reasons. King of Monsters is great cheesy monster madness full of fanservice done by fans for fans. Shin Godzilla is a satire with great black humor reflecting the helpnessless of the Japanese gouvernment during the Fukushima crisis. Legendary is an intelligent, tactical creature that has spent millions of years honing it's ability to fight. Shin, while terrifying and clearly no slouch in the damage-dealing area, is also shown to be a much more reactive and less thoughtful about why it does what it does. That alone would give Legendary G the advantage in a head-to-head fight.

If you listen to the music of Shin, you can hear in the lyrics that shin is clearly troubled and in pain over his actions, but his body wants him to keep carrying on with destruction. It's also theorized that his tail is a seperate organism, perhaps Maki, who discovered him, and both of these factors show that imo shin has a much higher level of cognition, and his endless mutation and regeneration would definitely ensure his victory along with that

​@Yagami Eren The issue is that Shin's attacks were reactionary and undirected (he doesn't aim at anything, he just fires and sweeps it around hoping to hit the threat), and they have a massive cooldown time if used too much. After the first use of his AB and dorsal beams, Shin shut down for 2-3 weeks. During the final counterattack, he was able to sustain his attack for 2 minutes (combined between the dorsal beams, the mouth beam and the tail beam, but not all at once) before flaming out and being reduced to melee combat, which Shin is clearly not built for (too slow, too awkward). I'm not saying Shin doesn't have a way to win, I'm saying that the odds would be (and rightly so) in Legendary's favour.

If given the time, Shin Godzilla would most likely evolve and adapt to Legendary Godzilla's fight style. Although, if Shin Godzilla is not given the chance to Evolve properly or in time, Legendary Godzilla could in-fact destroy Shin Godzilla through brute force. If the remains of Shin Godzilla persist, this could seriously mess up Legendary Godzilla's day if it evolved and got out of hand after the battle was "over". It's hard to say who would win, Shin Godzilla only ever evolved to combat Humanity and it didn't need to evolve anything to move faster or fight, because it didn't need to. If Shin Godzilla doesn't get to Evolve, Legendary will win. Although, if Shin Godzilla gets a chance to evolve while Legendary isn't looking or if Legendary is incapacitated, it could spell the end for Legendary Godzilla. At least, if he doesn't get help.

I still think Legendary Godzilla has the edge, from what we've seen. If accounting his Fire Godzilla form, this is an easy win for Legendary. Without it, we don't know. Of course, Shin could melt metal with his breath, so if he could overwhelm Godzilla with a barrage of ranged attacks, he may have a chance. But close up Legendary has the advantage, in speed, durability and power. Legendary was quick for its size and weight in the King of the Monsters. And was shown to be extremely intelligent in situations. Shin also showed some signs of intelligence but was not nearly has precise in speed as Monsterverse. He was shown to be cumbersome in a way. Of course, he could evolve during their fight but that would leave him defenceless to incoming attacks. And even if Shin were to fire his breath attacks, if Legendary can survive, Shin will go into cooldown for the next couple of weeks, giving Legendary the perfect opportunity to strike. And, if Godzilla were to awaken the Fire Godzilla power up once more, Shins attacks would barely daze him. Ghidorah attacked him with gravity beams and Godzilla looked at him like he was a complete idiot. But I don't even think the two would fight if they met. Assuming Shin could speak the titans language, he would ask Godzilla why the humans are attacking him, and Godzilla would tell him to return to the ocean, in which Shin would ask why. Godzilla would probably respond by saying the ocean is much safer, enticing Shin to return to the sea.

Shin Godzilla has the longer tail, but being lighter weight, swinging it would unbalance Shin Godzilla horribly. We know Legendary Godzilla can absorb radiation, so if he can absorb Shin Godzilla's breath weapon, the fight's over. If not, then Shin Godzilla has the distinct advantage in ranged combat (depending on how quickly he can ramp up to full power. Sometimes it seems to take a while), unleashing a powerful cutting beam (or multiple, if the situation calls for it) as opposed to nuclear fire. If Legendary Godzilla can't absorb the beam, then the fight comes down to whether or not he can withstand them until he can get in close. There's also longevity. Legendary Godzilla, if exhausted and forced to retreat, can recover and come back fairly quickly. Shin Godzilla takes a long time to recover if pushed to the point of exhaustion, giving Legendary Godzilla the advantage in a war of attrition. Overall in a fight, I give the advantage to Legendary Godzilla, but that all comes down to how readily Shin Godzilla deploys the atomic beams, and if Legendary Godzilla can withstand them for any period of time.

Lancer the sexy I don’t think Shin would survive long enough to evolve. If the beams can’t critically injure Legendary, Legendary will just move to melee and kill Shin in moments. Shin’s arms are hopelessly tiny, his legs, tail, and jaws are all too slow, and his hide isn’t tough enough to withstand Monsterverse’s brute force. Shin gets torn apart, very literally. You might have 20~30 Shin Godzilla’s rise out of the gore pile in the order of a few months mind.

Legendary Godzilla would win honestly... his experience with fighting and being overall much faster stronger and more agile. Shin Godzilla has atomic breath and dorsal fins and tail. Sure he can evolve but not that quickly to keep up with legendary Godzilla. Maybe, but you have to consider that shin Godzilla can mutate to counter legendary Godzilla, that and his atomic breath is much more refined, and his regenerative powers are insane, shin Godzilla can survive an oxygen destroyer laser while legendary Godzilla nearly died to a oxygen destroyer. Corporal Build (Who’s better equipped to fight) Who is better equipped to fight? Well let’s look at Legendary first, Legendary entire body is pretty small compared to his legs. His arms are small, his head is small, his teeth are mediocrely sharp, his tail is very short, his torso is not all that fattened (which is weird because in 2014, everyone said Legendary looked fat) but the legs are huge. It’s possible 100% obvious that Legendary’s body is like this in order to deal with the gravitational pull of the planet in order to not get crushed. And now Shin’s build. Shin was a small head, extremely sharp teeth, a long neck, a mediocrely sized torso, extremely small arms, a huge tail, and large legs to support all this weight. It’s also noticeable to show off that legendary is constantly leaning forward while Shin is always standing up fully.So who is better equipped for battle? Well Shin has a huge tail and sharp tail but pretty much no arms legendary who doesn’t have teeth as sharp as Shin or a tail as long as Shin, and offset that imbalance with his longer arms. Making it equal in terms of strength. Edge: Equilbrium Intelligence Let’s make it clear, Legendary is smarter than most humans, being able to distinguish human feelings in KOTM at one point. But what about battle intelligence? Well Legendary was able to predict the male Muto going in for a reckless attack by tail slamming against a building, killing it, while in GVK, Godzilla was able to realize that Kong was an ally after he was saved from MechaGodzilla. Does Shin have anything to counter this? Well yes. Shin has what’s called a Phased Array Radar, allowing him to predict attacks and locate anything moving around it. Oh and going invisible won’t save you, we see that Shin was able to shoot down and reveal an invisible Shin Ghidorah in Vs Evangelion. While Legendary has natural intelligence, Shin’s Phased Array Radar, makes this really unfair. Edge: Shin Physical Weaponry Well comparing their physical capabilities, Legendary has a slight advantage. While Shin was shown to be able to use his teeth and tail, Legendary could use his hands along with his teeth and tail. While yes, it is totally possible that Shin can enlarge his arm for better close range combat, this would most likely take 10-20 seconds, meaning Shin would most likely have to use his beams to keep legendary at bay. However if legendary decides to recklessly charge toward shin whirl he’s mutating, than Shin would have to most likely use his teeth to protect himself. Edge: Legendary Durability While Shin has been hurt by missiles, legendary has also been hurt by missiles twice in the Monsterverse: Once in 2014 when a rocket launcher hits his gills, and once in GVK when a missile hits his dorsal plates when he tried to blast Kong during the Tasman sea battle. However I would say that Shin is slightly better at being missile proof since only Bunker Busters were shown to be the only effective missiles, while Legendary was visibly affected by normal missiles. Edge: Shin Evolution While yes, Shin can mutate to adapt to all threats, I have constantly seen people saying that legendary would not give him a chance to mutate, we’ve seen him go through small mutations in under a few seconds, the back beams in under 15 seconds and the tail beam in under like 7 seconds. However then there are some bigger evolutions like changing from form 2 to form 3 which took about 35 seconds, and the energy regeneration which took 14 days. Edge: Shin Range Weaponry Shin’s beams officially reach 1 million degrees while the most recent legendary Godzilla (G21) has officially reached 500,000 at least. While yes, Legendary’s beam has been able to drill through the earth, I do believe Shin and Legendary’s beam could be at equal power. You could argue that legendary could overpower one beam but if Shin uses the normal mouth beam + the tail beam, legendary’s beam would obviously be overpowered. Edge: Shin X factor However there is a heavy price for attacking Shin up close, if you attack up close you have the risk of severing a piece of Shin and having it grow into a new Shin Godzilla. Yes, you read that correct. And before you say he can’t clone himself, the government officials did research on the flesh samples and figured out that they had more then enough life in them and could take lives of their own. So if Legendary were to attempt to rip flesh from Shin, he would be risking another Shin coming out in an unknown time period. Edge: Shin Final Verdict It’s really close. Legendary takes corporal build, physical weaponry, that is obvious, and Shin takes durability, range weaponry, regeneration, and evolution. Both Kaiju aren’t equal in anything. Shin’s X factor could drag this fight on for longer if Shin can distract legendary for long enough. By compiling all of this data, I’ve determined that Shin would most likely walk out of this fight alive. He’s got a lot of beams, some physical weaponry, mutation to give him more weapons, and a Phased Array Radar to find a hiding Legendary Godzilla hoping to make an ambush.

Matthew Tuimuk firstly the only reason why Godzilla needed help was because he was fighting an AMPED UP Ghidorah which would absolutely stomp Shin Gojira, even then Legendary Godzilla still had the upper hand before then. Legendary Godzilla also has the ability to absorb atomic energy, so if shin were to fire his atomic breath Legendary could possibly absorb it possibly making him even MORE powerful. Lastly, Legendary Godzilla has the physical combat advantage and powerful atomic breath, Godzilla is absolutely BUFF, I have no doubt he would be able to toss shin around like a rag doll, just like he did Ghidorah, who I forgot to mention weighs +140,000 tons. There is no way in hell Shins laser beam is hotter than burning G’s Pulse, it literally obliterated Ghidorah apon impact. If Ghidorah was able to take 1.2 million degrees of Godzillas Atomic breath, that pulse has got to be within the billions to literally Turn Ghidorah into a liquid....on another note, Legendary is pretty fricken durable, I doubt a hit to the gills would be much a problem, he’s been hit there before and he still manages like it’s nothing. He thrashed with thousands of monsters in his past, not to mention his main rival Ghidorah for millions of years. shin can recharge his energy at a much faster rate at the end of the movie and he only runs out of energy after using all of his lazers for an extended period of time. which wouldnt be needed when he only has to fight a single opponent. he can also use any of his lazers without charge up time so legendary g would have no time to close the distance. also i doubt legendary g would be able to dodge shins attacks when hes accurate enough to snipe stealth bombers, drones and rockets out of the sky.

Shin Godzilla's weakness is his supreme lack of speed and aggression. Yes his breath attack is absurdly powerful but legendary Godzilla can definitely make the distance without a problem and if he's smart he'll realize to try to avoid shins breath at all cost since it seems to be his only way to harm legendary, though there's no way to know exactly how much damage it would do. Considering shin was damaged by human weapons other than an oxygen destroyer I'd say durability definitely goes to legendary and legendary can definitely hurt shin, but I'd say the only way legendary could kill shin for good is if he can enter his burning state the pulses would really be the only surefire way to destroy shin entirely

Shin Godzilla doesn’t have the speed or power to counter Leendary Godzilla in a melee encounter, but his laser cutter-like atomic breath is unbelievably formidable, as is his uncanny precision and range. Legendary will likely win if he can absorb the beam and get in close, but if he’s unable to absorb it I suspect that he’ll be cut in half despite his durability. Burning Godzilla's heat pulse wasn't that hot, sure, it melted stuff nearby and tore away Ghidorah's flesh (they really nerfed Ghidorah here) but shin's atomic breath did the same. In terms of heat, both of them are relatively equal (judging from how shin's flame's colours changed, I'd argue it's hotter). Now the focused attack power is a different matter entirely, shin's is a cutting Lazer, no other Godzilla (apart from earth) had that much power and range in its atomic breath. Also, let's be real, both Godzillas are meant for different purposes. It's like comparing bosses from sekiro to souls, batman 89 to the dark Knight, etc. They are different characters for stories. Shin is cosmic horror and the one from monster verse is a superhero flick. Shin won't ever have the mainstream appeal that the one from legendary has but it'll have more of a cult following.

There is are two more questions to ask: can MonsterVerse Godzilla completely and utterly destroy Shin (thus making him unable to regenerate), and if not, can Shin adapt to fight against MonsterVerse Godzilla in time?

in the long run shin wins his lasers are far more powerful and focused then 2019s atomic breath plus he has them on his back and tail for extra power. he can move quickly in fights unlike what people think as seen in evangellion and when he was using his atomic breath he turned super quickly. his long massive tail is a huge advantage and can easily beat down 2019 with it. not only that he would evolve to counter 2019, if that would be growing bigger arms, larger size etc.

The monster walked away Godzilla could not find that devil... At night... They were back together and they fought again but Godzilla was tired of this monster so his spikes glowed with a blue and than... He breathed out atomic breath and the monsters tiny arm was gone but he herd something... he saw the monster bending over... it breathed out smoke and fire everywhere... than the monsters mouth was so big it was bigger than Godzilla’s head... he saw purple beams flowing out of his back and then... The monster shot it at Godzilla cutting him leaving a huge scar! Godzilla was tired of this he started to glow red with red eyes but the monster was almost scared so it started to try to run but it was to slow! Godzilla was almost ready to do it but than a fiery explosion happened, the monster was being turned to ash... 1 day later... Godzilla woke up and saw the ash that was the monster and Godzilla went to the sea and went in to swim away... They are both cool, but the fact that shins mobility and lack of arm usage is so detrimental, I'd give the win to legendaryG. Shin can keep evolving and would likely be able to handle Legendary if given enough time, but I don't think it would last too long with legendaries "W key" attitude. Shins atomic breathe, tail beam, and dorsal beam is obviously a lot more potent that legendary's breath, but I don't see it being strong enough to just completely slice through Legendary. And the fact that it's an atomic beam would likely just be absorbed anyway, but that's also a 2 way street. In the end if both atomic breaths are canceled out due to radiation absorption, all you have left is the physical aspect of the fight. With legendary being larger, heavier, and overall more physically powerful, it's a sure win for him. Shin is like a super powered ranged monster with a 1 trick devastating ability. Legendary is more of a well rounded fighter able to handle a large variety of situations. If you don't agree you don't have to insult. Be an adult.
