Isabeau’s probably my favorite Neutral character in SMT thus far. Her indecisiveness up until Flynn takes his side makes her really relatable to the player imo, YHVH knows I wouldn’t be able to make such a heavy choice under the same circumstances they’re in. And man, SMT humor within the main plot is kinda scarce, but when it hits, it hits reaaaal good. I’d say it’s pretty darn endearing.

Isabeau shows everything right with smt 4s character writing She isn't just a walking ideology or some fan service character or some girl you'll forget about She has little moments like this, showing her humanity and the humanity of other characters, you see what they are, who they are, what kind of person they are and how they react to different things, before they ultimately fight you for a higher purpose and you see why they chose their path, isabeau is just a normal girl that can't chose between her friends, she's sympathetic and comparatively likes the world she is in, so she fights you if you want to destroy it and she still can't bring herself to fight you so she's easily defeated and kills herself just for your hands to not get bloodied

The people living in Mikado are mostly not really human human. These three are human, so they can develop emotions without extremes like the others who are in almost complete control by the church. Humans are closer to demons except the ones taken by the angels are less human because they are devoid of knowledge and emotion for the most part. Any literature that makes them think or feel more than a certain threshold causes them to change. The Communist Manifesto would not turn them into demons because they would need to turn off their minds completely for that garbage.
