Thanks for watching. Maybe when Nintendo first designed it they were worried people would lose them if the boxes were only as big as the cartridge or the marketing team was like it needs to be big to stand out in store shelves!

The overall packaging & the collectibles look sweet, the game also looks fantastic (loving Persona 5 myself lately, though I am aware it’s not the same franchise but love those types of RPGs where the tone of the game is dark). I would love to pick the game up but I need to get a Switch first. Lots of games on that particular console that caught my attention, but I have too much in my gaming backlog. 😭

I have played a number of the SMT games in the past and enjoyed them all so I had to pick this one up. Agree Persona 5 is excellent. Even though they aren't the same franchise I would say they are part of the same universe. The same demons and similar turn based combat. Agree about the backlog though mine is massive and will take a while to get through!

Just to dispel the idea that they're not the same franchise (Megami Tensei), the protagonist from 'Shin Megami Tensei If' is a character in both Persona 1 and 2 (not to mention the vast majority of personas come directly from demons used throughout the mainline and the other Megaten spinoffs. Persona is in the same universe as the 'Devil Summoner' spinoffs and is one of the two 'Megami Ibunroki' series, the other being 'Devil Survivor'.

Well explain it in simpler terms... smt is persona but without(thought I would've said without the heart huh?) dating sim elements, more compendium of demons, more party customization(you customize all 4 members) and with one of the best battle systems in JRPGS. Tho dungeons may be bullshity and character work is flawed most of the time

@@n1rvanna_chaos Such a good explanation. That review is comical! It would be like if they reviewed Pokemon Snap saying well it is Pokemon but without the story or substance of the mainline games. Of course it is different they are different franchises. However devils advocate I can understand that perhaps for a number of people they have only ever played Persona 5 and this may be their first SMT game, so when they see the same demons they cannot help but compare. Especially as both do use turn based combat even though the actual mechanics of combat vary a lot. Agree the battle system and also difficulty of SMT has always been incredible for fans of the genre. You have to gain extra turns by exploiting weaknesses or it can be tough to win in combat.

hello great vid..did it come shrink wrapped? i hope its not like the Metroid Dread special edition because mine was damaged since it was not somewhat protected by the plastic packaging..would hate for this one to be damaged as well since im a big smt fan.

Thanks for watching. It did not come shrink wrapped. Luckily for me the game store had pretty decent protective packaging in the box they sent out. Hopefully yours does not get damaged in transit!
