No. Work hard and play less cause you are still young. I played hard only sporadically and worked very hard for many years to earn enough money for my early retirement. Now, I can relax and play some games. It is never too late. Star War Battle Front II celebrated edition is now selling for only 4.99 bucks. LOL It is still a very playable game, unless you want to go full fledged VR. 4K, 8K, ... do not matter cause it is game play that matters the most. I am happy with 1080 on my cheap i5 11 gen with silly iris xe graphs. I am waiting for my first ps5. But it is ok. No rush. I just bought many Black Friday PC game deals, like XCOM ultimate collection bundle for only 20 bucks with 3 different XCOM games in it. No rush, I am waiting patiently for my PS5 and will move all in for VR games in the future when it gets cheap enough. LOL

I don’t think it’s a disrespectful thing to say. To be honest gaming wasn’t mainstream until the 90s, and even then not REALLY mainstream until the 2000s. I’m in my 30s and when I was young kids still got bullied for playing video games. People in their 50s or above are likely to have been raised and even young adults when games were irrelevant in the mainstream. People in their middle age or above would need to discover gaming when they weren’t children anymore, so it’s less common (FAR less common) that they game nowadays.

Hi. I’m a 49 years old gamer girl just like you - and I really like your channel. This is such a beautiful box and I was happy you showed us the pages in book and not just flipping through like the most people do. Here in Germany this edition is impossible to buy. The are a few but they cost about 400€. So thank you for showing us everything. - The connection you mentioned- I had the same feeling when I played persona 4 golden on the Ps Vita for the first time. It was like I’m getting sucked inside this game and got part of it. I never had that strange feeling in any other title again - not even in my favorite game in the whole world I’m playing for years. I preordered Shin Megami Tensei V and it came right in time- and I love it. And the soundtrack is from another world. See you in your next video - until than have fun with SMT.

Hey! I'm a 44 year old gamer gay boy who has been gaming since I was five and my parents bought me a Commodore 64... always good to meet older gamers, since it seems like we are overlooked much of the time. My first SMT game was IV, and when I stepped out of the tower in Tokyo and the Tokyo theme started playing, it completely blew my mind, and I have been a massive ATLUS junkie since. Ugh... I'm so sorry to hear the Fall of Man edition of SMTV is so expensive for you... I managed to get one during the second round of availability in the US by just clicking refresh at exactly the right time. By the time I was done the purchase, it was sold out. I would be utterly devastated not to have this in the limited edition. I am so hopeless... I absolutely adore ATLUS' Etrian Odyssey series, and when Persona Q was announced, I bought a PS Vita just to play P3P and P4G in preparation since I was so excited that I would watch the trailer dozens of times a day, which is what got me into Persona. I hope both you and Food4Dogs are enjoying SMTV as much as I am... it is incredible. I think if the momentum keeps up, it might just be my new favourite game of all time, which says a lot as I have played a few thousand games in my life.
@jesselenzrokobauer70423 жыл бұрын
@@vorpal22 hey. Nice to meet you here. You were lucky with your purchase. Congrats. The same way i managed to preorder a steam deck. I can’t wait for it to arrive but sadly the release is delayed. I never tried the Etrian odyssey series and i got into Persona completely different. I’ve been at gamestop and i saw Persona 4 Golden. I never heard of it but in sone way i stared at the cover and i felt so much attracted that i bought it. It was the release day and it was a new full price game. When i played it for the first time it blew me away. The second game this feeling happened was in The Division (part1). I fell completely into the Division world like i was living there and played it for years. I enjoy SMeg Tensei V and I’m playing it every day.

@@jesselenzrokobauer7042 Oh, I hear you. I literally don't know what I would have done without this collector's edition except stew and be utterly miserable. I also bought the digital download deluxe edition so I could start playing on release day. I'm pretty much around the halfway point now, I think, and it is AMAZING. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Etrian Odyssey is a great series, but it definitely has niche appeal. If you liked Strange Journey / Redux, you will probably like Etrian Odyssey. I recommend starting with Millennium Girl (the remake of the first one). Persona 4 G is my favourite mainline Persona game (Persona Q is probably my favourite). P4G has the best mix of characters, dungeons, and story to make it awesome. I preferred the P3P characters and the P5 mechanics, but P4G hits the sweet spot in all categories. Never played nor heard of the Division. I'm going to have to check it out, now, because you, good sir, clearly have spectacular tastes.

During the last year I needed to...keep busy to say the least. I decided to pick up an rpg, typically not my style, and remembered the game. Absolutely LOVED it. Finished it this year. Picked up all the 3DS titles out of FOMO and rising prices. I was playing Nocturne remake, and wanted to get further before V came out, but here we are. I have three 3DSes because my DS / 3DS library is so big that I would be utterly devastated if, for whatever reason, I couldn't play those games again. The only reason I got into SMT and Etrian Odyssey was because the sales clerk at GameStop asked me if I wanted to preorder SMTIV and Etrian Odyssey IV, and I said, "Why yes... yes, I do!" without even knowing what I was in for, and was totally hooked. Same boat as you... was playing Nocturne (and Shadowverse, which is another great Switch game - like Pokémon with an actual challenge and a plot and characters), and wanted to finish them both before SMTV, but still have a long way to go and there is no way I'm putting down SMTV until it's done.

Dear Britta, I am sure I speak for a lot of us when I say that I really enjoy the format of your unboxing videos. I don't usually watch any unboxings, but the way you share your wonder and excitement as well as your history with these games and general life experiences is very soothing and informative. As teenagers and young adults, we look to mentors as people who can give us a broader perspective on all things in life, but due to the stark division between generations when it comes to video games, we rarely get that for our preferred medium. I also think that divide is one of the reasons why games (especially certain genres outside of the RPG) still don't take full advantage of their narrative possibilities and shy away from telling the kind of speculative and dark stories that Atlus tells with great sucess. I loved listening to you talk about the SMT franchise and I wish you the utmost fun with SMT V. After giving my Switch to my younger brother so he could play it first, I am already regretting that decision. Please do come back and tell us about your experience! Best wishes from Germany.

@@CrossingRover REAL gamers play exclusively on hard mode. 😤😤😤 nah, but I would heavily recommend trying to stick to at least normal difficulty. This is a very difficult game, but I personally feel like playing on at least normal difficulty really gives you the full experience. Death is a part of SMT that any player will relate to. I'm not saying it's impossible to die on casual or anything, but normal really gives that extra incentive to actually learn the mechanics while simultaneously not being TOO frustrating like hard mode.

I'm so so very glad to have discovered your channel. Your thoughtfulness and calmness are very refreshing within the game industry, and a new pair of eyes without the bias that usually comes with being too long involved with something is very welcomed. I'm a big fan of the SMT series myself, ang I hope you will love this one as much as I do. If you think it is at all doable, I would be thrilled to hear your thoughts on this title at a later date. Take your time (not something I think I need to say at all, as an avid rpg player I think you understand that by heart by now hahaha), and most importantly, have fun darling!

Great unboxing and discussion, I really enjoyed it! I was lucky enough to get the steelbook edition and feel very satisfied with it, but I sure do like that printed demon compendium in the special edition. I also feel that Matrix-level connection to SMT. For me it started with SMT IV and solidified, like you, with the Digital Devil Saga. I found the character of Argilla and her internal conflict over the circumstances she’s faced with to be really special. Now I’m chipping away at Nocturne and wondering if I should try to finish it first, or play it and V at the same time. What a lovely dilemma! I hope this new entry introduces loads of players into the series. Hope you’re having a blast playing!

SMT is what is often referred to as "environmental storytelling" (the Souls games do that as well) - the story comes together through the world and its atmosphere, inhabitants, lore etc.

TMS is great too, I love it. Don't be put off by "hardcore" merchants. This one is so much more welcoming and accessible. And there's not only a Casual mode, but (as DLC) also a Safety mode. Nothing wrong with cruising safely while you get a grasp of the lie of the land. I'll guarantee you'll go back and play on another difficulty setting quite soon.
@gyrados783 жыл бұрын
@@alastormedial I've also heard the series is more challenging than many other jrpgs, but I made it through Final Fantasy IV DS once so I think it should be OK. And Food4Dogs says this new game has a difficulty setting like Persona 5 so we don't have to make it much harder for ourselves than what we want to 😁 I haven't played Tokyo Mirage Sessions but if you think that could be a good middle ground I say go for it!
@gyrados783 жыл бұрын
@@Food4Dogs It's really good to know about the difficulty setting. Sometimes you want to focus more on the story, fun gameplay and adventure rather than challenge yourself with something very difficult so I'm glad to see more modern jrpgs have that feature, kind of like an accessability option for less experienced players. I'll have to think about this one and all the options on 3DS - a thing I'd like to do going forward into 2022 is play more 3DS games again so I'm a little spoiled for choice here 😊
