Actually beat the game yesterday and instantly started a new playthrough to get more endings and unlock more demons. Amazing game, one of my favorite JRPG combats and probably favorite Atlus JRPG.

I just beat it too on hard mode haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. My level 85 nekomata hits like a truck. I just beat samael as well. Can't wait to fuse him because he is one of my faves from nocturne. Yes I did beat the end boss with a nekomata 😆

@@Dwesk Yeah I'm an item hoarder so I just dropped a ton of resources on nekomata to make her an OP phys DPs. There werent many times in the game I got checked tbh. I would deliberately fight bosses a few levels under leveled. Fighting all the qaditsu at once, samael, and tiamat are the times I got beat down the hardest. I still have to go back and beat Shiva and demi fiend though.

The original SMTV is one of my favorite games in recent years. I loved it. The art, story, music, gameplay, and its multiple layers. It was a masterpiece and I enjoyed it immensely! Thank you! I am so happy that Vengeance exists polishing the game even more and adding more to what I loved. I feel like this is truly a gift to all of us fans. Thank you Atlus! I can see myself playing this game over and over for years to come. That’s how much of a delight it is! Just like SMTI, SMTIII, SMTSJ, Devil Survivor, and Soul Hackers were before it. I am still quite new to the SMT series but I am glad to see that SMT VV has done great! SMT V was the game I wanted to start off with due to mixed feelings from other players, I chose to wait and started with SMT 3 instead (game is great so far) as my first entry! I definitely think after finishing SMT 3, I will get SMT VV next. :D I hope we get remakes for the I,II and older SMT games. :D And I cannot wait for what they do for the next entry for SMT 6 whether it’s a continuation of V or its own thing. ✨

In their case “heart” means an over extensive amount of anime dating sim wasn’t attached so they were mad they couldn’t build a social links tree with waifus. I say this as a fan of both smt and persona, but definitely prefer smt for its atmosphere and creation of an isolating theme. It’s ok to have a game without a ton of whacky anime friends every now and then

So glad they redid the story with the Vengeance route since the characters actually have...character now. One hiccup i do have is Dazai again, he needed the most work and he somehow got more and less developed. his swap to extremist law came more out of nowhere than it did in the original. he just leaves as a goofy good guy and comes back a psychotic murderer.

I love Megaten. this series is underrated, this masterpiece should be popular at the final fantasy level. I just adore the designs of the mythological creatures in this series. the artist draws them as stylishly and subtly as possible. from grotesque to cute. and I am so pleased with the numerous references to world legends and myths because I was very interested in this, especially Hinduism. and the very idea of ​​dark Pokemon has always attracted me. and ost, this is some kind of unique genre that sounds very peculiar and ghostly

I think the story is pretty interesting. Not the peak of writing, by the way, but very enjoyable. Well, videogames usually don't need to have a well written story, it just need to have a good gameplay, and for me, SMTV has a 10/10

Canon of Vengeance has a better story than Canon of Creation (OG SMTV). Strange Journey has a better story than both of them, but Vengeance is not terrible by any means.

Both Canon of Creation and Vengeance are the best stories we have gotten since Kaneko left. Devil Survivor 1 and Strange Journey are still top tier though. Still worth playing.

Having so much fun rn. Just got lv cap to 150 last night. Have 96% demons regis-ed. Gonna play godborn mode now 🎉🎉 the combat is pretty addicting. There are many build for mc, magic, phy, support, evade tank etc. Playing coc and cov in between is pretty refreshing.

This has to be the best rpg this year by far 💪 The original is easily the best rpg on the switch. Two times GOTY contender! Excellent story and characters. Fast pace balanced yet challenging difficulty! Awesome world and art! Best 3D Demon roster in the series by far. You guys out did yourselves with SMTV and Vengeance!

I have heard that this game was everything smt V needed to be. However, as someone who paid full price for SMT V on release date and thought the overall experience was kind of subpar, apart from the amazing visuals in demon design and negotiations, I can't say I'm fond of this model that developers bring out what is essentially an unfinished game and then bring out the complete version later on for the same price. I didn't mind for Persona 5 because Persona 5 is for all intents and purposes a finished game. But in the original SMT V a lot of the main human cast don't have a lot of characterization or screen time, which means that the later game falls really flat. Some of the ideas in the game seem really good as a concept but the game doesn't explore them nearly enough. All of the SMT games follow the same overall story line but add their own unique twists and plot points but this is the one where SMT V added almost nothing of itself. I'm going to wait until this game is going on sale instead.

@@KatelynTea they follow the same storybeats: Tokyo and the world at large are destroyed, a cast of human characters has to decide on the fate of the new world, and every character has his motivation/reasoning for their vision if the future and help out the demon of their resonating alignment. You create the world of your choosing. Sometimes they are literally called Chaos/Law/Neutral. Sometimes they use different names: Musubi/Shijima/Yosuga/Freedom/True demon. SMTI/II/III/IV/V all followed this exact formula. The only one who didn't follow that story line was arguably SMT IV: apocalypse, because it was a spin off; the original followed that line to the point. They always follow these exact beats but with some variation. I argue that there isn't enough variation in this game to stand apart from the basic plot line unlike the others did.
