Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance Guide on making an OP Agrat

Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance has been out for exactly one month now and many players have discovered some of the best demons in the game. Sakuya, Masakado, Arioch, GODmagog, and the MF with an inconsistent relationship with physical attacks.
Well, I want to show who is, in my eyes, a contender for best demon in the game along with these guys and how you can build them to be as strong as possible. I hope you all enjoy.

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed the video. As always, I welcome disagreement but please keep criticism constructive and respectful. Besides that, a couple points. 1. Yes, I am aware that Arioch, and GODmagog outdamage Masakado with the aid of the MF with an inconsistent relationship to physical. I'm saying Masakado is the best when you're playing normally and not doing 4D-Chess stats. 2. When I say Sakuya and Masakado are "boring" I mean when is being realistic, you're building Sakuya for healing and Masakado for Almighty crits. They're essentially one-trick ponies. And while I should my preferred way for building Agrat to be similar, she's a lot more modular because of her potentials in Fire, Ice, and Healing.

8:42 I love counting! 422 + 411 + 403 + 393 + 413 + 402 + 392 + 392 + 406 + 398 + 419 + 401 = 4852 total damage, with a resulting average of 404.333... per strike. The second last hit (which I think is 419) is obscured by Masakado's healthbar and the last strike's damage numbers, though, so that might not be accurate. Certainly looks like the second digit is 1, hence the first is probably 4, and I think the middle part of the 9 becomes visible briefly when the number grows. Edited since I originally thought the 9 was a 5. Great video, keep it up!

Love seeing more agrat content personally have her built with QD both almighty pleroma EdS repel elec MdG snd crit zealot also have high restore for flex might replace with another element nullify skill, she melts single target bosses down so fast for me, maxed out her magic and luck stat for guaranteed crits

Yup! And High Restore is actually the skill I recommend having if you don’t feel like Safeguard. It makes Queen’s Decree cost basically nothing (almost nothing if you stack with Restore)

If you intend to do more demon showcases, may I recommend Cu Chulain? Genuinely super overlooked, and he is a large part of how I beat Satan. His innate skill pierces and is guaranteed to hit and crit, plus his and Scathach' new attack can really lay on some extra pressure. Worth checking out. Crit Zealot does also affect the damage

@@ketzalo7005 Thank you so much! And that’s actually going to be my next scripted video. I’m going to go in depth on who, I at least feel, are the best demons for various points in the game. I’m not going to go into full on math breakdowns like I did here, but more or less a discussion on who they are, what makes them good, and basic fusion path (where applicable) and good skills to teach them. Also Agrat was meant to be part of that video, and still will be, I just felt she warranted a dedicated discussion because of how nutty she is.

Just want to add onto this: I would add bloody since it’s stacks onto murderous. I would also add critical zealot. If you have an additional slot I would add concentrate. If not, donum magici onto another demon. For party comp, you start with agrat then sandalphon and metatron. Sand gives almighty a chance to crit. Meta increases dmg based on the number of almighty hits before him. Nice vid. Agrat has a lot of potential.

Overall she seems like a very good general use demon. For my nuke(against ice or light weakness), I prefer a tactical Jack Frost. Here me out. This all centers around Omagatoki: Strategize. Between that and his innate skill Fickle Personality, all his ice/light attacks during strategize become critical when hitting weakness. I like to add in an arahabaki with luster candy, boon boost, and concentrate(or gem), which it's innate skill affable hospitality will give to summoned demons along with the active magtushi skill. So basically, with that combo, my jack frost can do 8 boosted crit weakness shots on a single magtushi turn. Basically killed Shiva on hard for me.

I had a similar story with Matador. On my first playthrough of Vengeance, He lasted me from Shinagawa to the beginning of the Temple of Eternity

I've played this game for a while and have made the Qadištu permanent party members. A couple things I learned about Agrat is that Queen's Decree always stays while she should have Ice Age or Trisagion then the Ma-barion of the other type. Healing is optional while at least Null Elec is required.

I'm staring down Luci himself and Agrat has been a hard carry since i summoned her. Null Elec to get rid of that one nasty weakness, Agibarion and Ice Age for single target damage, Mabufubarion for AoE damage, and Almighty Pleroma + Queen's Decree for the often circumstances where i just want to see things disappear. Never even considered Murderous Glee though. Might have to pass that along before confronting the ultimate usurper.

I keep Agrat with Mediarahan as insurance since she has healing proficiency. She is magic DPS to Eisheth's physical DPS. With both on the field, they’ll crit everything to death.

Yeah, been using Agrat and the other Qadistu mainly by pouring my incenses into them and for their innates together. Main party is keeping Lilith for support (Mother earth ability is quite something and helped me against demi-fiend), Namaah for debuff/status (even though Beelzebub would be better), and Agrat for the dmg alongside MC with swapping out for Eisheth if needed. Gotta love these demons.

Don't forget Nue. And Glasya single handedly carrying 90% of crit builds that aren't figment slash or nue. Or Dagda and his bullshit best magatsuhi in the game that isn't strategize. And Akihabara enabling some of the biggest bullshit in the game. And Yoshitsune generating press turns for intentionally hitting a null or missing. And Baal getting a turn for getting hit with a -kunda. And Mastema if you build him tanky enough for generating a shitload of turns. And- Anyways agrat p good tho, all the qadistu are great. 1. Oh yeah, Nue’s trait is like Gog’s but for crit rate instead. Very good demon 2. I mention Glasya in the math section and him combined with Eisheth is great for Agrat specifically 3. Don’t forget Danu in that equation. 4. THE WALL. Is insanely good. I just prefer not to use him, Arioch, GODmagog, or Strategize because I want to fight superbosses fairly 5. They did buff Tao at least by letting any investment you put into her stick, and letting you summon her in ng+, so there is reason to say that Tao is actually a flat upgrade to Idun, but Tao doesn't do cute idol dances.

Something you can add at end game is to get the demons needed for agrat to level 99 because of you have the miracle that give stat to points to demons on fusion you can boost her stats even more

@@jaffinator2166 More they nerfed the fusion bonus altogether. Idun with demons around level 50~ got +30~ to her stats (factoring in level ups) in the base game. The same Idun with material demons at the same approximate level gets a third of that in Vengeance.

imo Energy Drain really shines with high support mons like Kono Saku/Idun/Tao where they have something to do when they're not de/buffing or party healing. Crit Fishing DPS Agrat is not that. Plus with High Restore in the mix MP efficiency is neatly covered.

Best part about Agrat is you don't have to make Bino a support just to run her for fishing crits. Fire of Sinai is indeed busted but requires support Bino to run since metatron cannot crit without sandalphon so who will do the debilitating then? Also i am a Tao is best healer and Yoko best debuffer truther.

Even Huang Long has to be built with multihit physical dps since his innate works like Zaou Gongen innate but for everyone after certain multihit thresholds are met.

Quick question. How do you get the summon trigger for Agrat? I received the special summon recipes for Lilith, Eiseth, and Namaha after the boss battle, but for whatever reason Agrat's recipe wasn't. Do I have to do something else to get it?

Actually yes, very easily in fact. She’s used in a lot of the Omogotoki Strategize quick kills you see because she’s able to reverse the buffs that the debuff summons (Azazel, Titzmitizl, I forget the other one) put on you

Does anyone have any Eisheth build ideas? Her innate plays really well with Agrat's and I'm wonder which skills would be best to maximize her damage. Also appreciate the formula breakdown. Was unsure if Agrat's crit rate was only amazing when paired with another Quadistu or if it was just ridiculous regardless. Glad it was the latter.

@@DreamerADV the thing about Eisheth is, IMO, she’s probably the least useful of the Quadistu in that she’s just a beefy physical girl with nothing that special about her, something satisfied better by demons like Yoshitsune, Fionn, and Odin. But that doesn’t mean she’s completely terrible though and for build ideas, I recommend both high and regular Phys pleromas all crit boosters and her damaging skill of choice to either be Nihil Claw (2-3 Heavy physical attacks to 1 foe), Figment Slash, or Myriad Slashes (although for the last 2 you’d need Dragon Eye to ensure she doesn’t miss). And yes Agrat’s crit rate is just that nuts. But that’s actually another utility for Eisheth, making it even nuttier.

So from what i read on aqiu github, murderous glee is 2,5 and bloody glee 1,8. Since it works additively does that mean the total value is 4.3 or 3,3 (since +150% plus +80% is +230% or 3.3)

Yeah I even state in the video that Masakado is the best attacker in the game. But what makes Agrat special in my eyes is her versatility. She doesn’t necessarily have to live by Queen’s Decree and can excel as an amazing Fire/Ice attacker or healer. Meanwhile Masakado and Sakuya are very much built to stick to their niches (Almighty Crits and Healing/Buffing), anything else is wasting their potential.

I really don't get what the whole thing is with sakuya. She restores hp and mp but at such a low rate you may as well just slap energy drain on your demons and call it a day if you're really that concerned about it. She's also as tough as wet toilet paper so she goes down in seconds, not even hard mode but in normal difficulty. Sure, if you slap mediaram and bowl of hygeia on her and then pump her full of heal buffs, then she's somewhat viable but that's way too much work just to restore mp.

@@trevorsamuels8392 Sakuya’s more useful than Idun or Tao because her trait actually helps the healing. It doubles the amount of HP and MP restored when buffs are maxed. So with High and regular heal Pleroma she can basically heal to full and give everyone a Chakra Drop

@jaffinator2166 But again, that's way too much for a full heal and a Chakra drop. You're better off giving every demon in-party energy drain and using another healer at that point. Like I said, she can also hardly survive anything and I have her at 99, she's nothing special.

In terms of the boss fight? Yes absolutely but in terms of Gameplay, Agrat can stay alive for a pretty long time.

I combined this with crit zealot and he is basically a free turn generator who does really reliable damage. I think another good runner up would be beeho because of Jack tempest, and that alot of late game bosses are either neutral or are weak to ice damage, like you mention

I learned quite early that she's definitely a Top 5 demon. Not only for what you said, but Qadiŝtu is probably the most broken race thanks to the innate skills of them pairing well with each other as well as Qadiŝtu Entropy being a very broken Magatsuhi Skill. She just has so many good things going for her

@@zerochill4096 so true story I actually was doing some recording and took Eisheth out in the DF fight. With unoptimized stats, she was able to land 2 Crits on him with Nihil Claw because of her trait. I can only imagine what would have happened with Agrat had she not died to Gaea Rage

@@jaffinator2166 Lilith's innate ability is also really good as she's one of the few demons that passively reduces damage, which applies to all Qadiŝtu. She's also pretty good with Luster Candy/Debilitate thanks to her positive affinity for Support. All in all with the possible exception of Naamah outside of certain situations, the demons of the Qadiŝtu Race are generally the best demons in the game outside of DLC and Superbosses from testing

Not nyami nyami🥱. Actually has some half decent stat growths, his magic stat tends to stay 10 pts ahead of his level which is nice, not as good as Alice’s ma stat growth but I found it viable enough for building nyami nyami against shiva and soon demi fiend.
