I have a theory on who talks to knuckles to seek out the chaos emeralds. This would probably be the master emerald. According to Sonic X, Knuckle's echidna clan was absorbed by the master emerald allowing him to communicate with the emerald itself. The master emerald also has the ability to power up and drain the chaos emeralds. I believe the reason why knuckles need to find the chaos emeralds is because the super versions of the three are invincible superpowers. Also according to Sonic X, the super versions can travel between different worlds.

I think the reason Shadow and the rest of Sonic's friends aren't in play is because this (might) take place in the extremely dense timeframe of "after Sonic 3 but before SA1" in the timeline. At least in this alternate timeline, anyway. Not only is Station Square still intact, but also, the Super Emeralds are still in play and can be accessed (so the CD equivalent of this timeline probably never happened either). Meaning Shadow hasn't been released yet and Sonic hasn't met Blaze.

I really like Sonic horror stories that actually let the characters be themselves. There are a few questions, such as if Knuckles knows Sonic, then what exactly is the lore of this world? Especially given that Eggman may have not even been a bad guy ( Unless Shin dimenssion shifted somehow) how and when did Sonic get possessed? But back to the main point, having Knuckles actually put up a fight, escape Shin and go to the past rather than just be another useless jobber is refreshing since most horror/ exe content just makes them useless

An interesting thing I've noticed since you touched on the subject, most if not all of the more infamous Sonic horror series I know of (.EXE, .EYX, Green Mountain, et. al.) have no sign of Shadow anywhere, which probably doesn't mean anything but it's funny to think that Shadow is the only thing preventing Sonic from becoming an eldritch/demonic abomination.

Hey Daggz you probably wont see this but, the first puzzle in GOBB6 can be done without doing the puzzle just move the lights in the right position. If this was done on purpose then the originals idea was just to move the lights but then added the puzzle to add more filler. Kind of makes the Euphoric Brothers really greedy. But if this was done on accident, then that means the mechanic was left in the game on accident.

Not too fond of how these sorts of video essays are structured, they feel too close just summarising what’s happening at a good few points, but this was a fun video on a series that I feel deserves more attention outside of content farm slop. I actually checked some episodes of the series out before its recent popularity a few months ago, so I’m happy that Shin Sonic is getting more appreciation.

31:34 Why doesn't Shadow or Blaze doesn't help? Well, this is an alternate world, so a lot things are different. With Eggman being good, Sonic's pool of (powerful) friends is smaller in this alternate universe. Those that could've helped either Knuckles have never met them, they are unavailable, or have no idea what's going on. If Eggman isn't evil, Sonic & Tails (& Knuckles) probably haven't meet any else. Sonic likes to adventure and explore about, so he would've meet Tails and Knuckles in his travels. But, if Eggman isn't evil, the events of *Sonic CD* (or *Sonic Adventure* ) wouldn't have happened and Sonic might've never met Amy Rose, meaning Amy would've never met anyone else. The good version of Eggman would never break into the GUN base to free Shadow, so Shadow would forever be unawakened. Rouge might have meet Knuckles, but Knuckles probably chased her off and would never have a reason to trust her. Cream only met Sonic because Eggman kidnapped her mom; something "good Eggman" would never do, so Cream would've never met anyone else either. Blaze is in her own dimension, doing princess stuff. If Eggman Nega is also good, Blaze would never have a reason to hop dimensions. (Though, it's possible that dimension might be dealing with "Shin Blaze"...) Silver is from the future; he only appears if the future is bad enough. The fact that Silver never appeared means that the world is truly doomed, as there is no life left (thus, Silver was never born in the first place).

Even if it was to set up the Series, Thank you for mentioning the root adaptation of Godzilla. Seeing G. Zilly in It’s original, horrifying form makes me both love storytelling, and loath how It’s monetized in America.

If I didn’t give enough explanation, Metal Sonic could be a continuation of the series. It could create an interesting dynamic, with Metal being forced to work with some of sonics old friends to get the master emerald and become Metal Overlord which would basically be Mecha Godzilla.
