TLDR: KZbin automatically added ads to this video. I do not want any ads on my videos. Completely unrelated, ad block programs exist and are easily accessible. For anyone who has been shown an ad on this video, I did not choose to put ads on this video, KZbin automatically added them. My channel is not monetized, so I do not have the option to enable ads on my videos, or receive any money from them. I want people to be able to listen to my edits without any interruption, and I do not want to earn any money off of Pink Floyd's hard work. I apologize for anyone who has had their listening experience ruined by an ad, it unfortunately seems like it is out of my control. On an unrelated note, there are many methods to block unwanted ads while browsing the internet. Ad Blockers are programs that detect and hide advertisement content. These programs can be installed in seconds on a desktop browser, and they exist to varying degrees on other devices. For instance, if you were to download one of these programs and watch a KZbin video that normally has ads, you would be able to watch that video without ads. Once again, this has absolutely no relation to KZbin automatically adding ads to this video. Any connection you can draw is purely coincidental. :)

This is the reason to give Caesar what's his. I mean - thinking about those who try to knock down Pink Floyd technical ability and even wanting to make useless comparisons with bands who could be reasonably way more technically able...there's some music that simply has got some "soulful meaning" more than other music. And that's the case. It goes back to the spine, down the spine, right into spirit core. Thank you Pink Floyd - thank you Doors, thank you Genesis, Thank you Death, thanks to all those band who rip the soul of the universe apart to let us see it.

for those who don't know this song and most of the album was about Syd Barret who was the founder of Pink Floyd but left the band due to mental/substance abuse issues. But he was actually present on the studio on the day the vocals for this song were being recorded. episode is related by Wright as follows: "Roger was there, and he was sitting at the desk, and I came in and I saw this guy sitting behind him - huge, bald, fat guy. I thought, "He looks a bit... strange..." Anyway, so I sat down with Roger at the desk and we worked for about ten minutes, and this guy kept on getting up and brushing his teeth and then sitting - doing really weird things, but keeping quiet. And I said to Roger, "Who is he?" and Roger said "I don't know." And I said "Well, I assumed he was a friend of yours," and he said "No, I don't know who he is." Anyway, it took me a long time, and then suddenly I realised it was Syd, after maybe 45 minutes. He came in as we were doing the vocals for "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", which was basically about Syd. He just, for some incredible reason picked the very day that we were doing a song which was about him. And we hadn't seen him, I don't think, for two years before. That's what's so incredibly... weird about this guy. And a bit disturbing, as well, I mean, particularly when you see a guy, that you don't, you couldn't recognise him. And then, for him to pick the very day we want to start putting vocals on, which is a song about him. Very strange."

8:38 and 17:40 : lyrics ☟ (8:38) Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond! Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond! You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom, Blown on the steel breeze. Come on you target for faraway laughter, Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine! You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon. Shine on you crazy diamond! Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed to the light. Shine on you crazy diamond! Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, Rode on the steel breeze. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, Come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine! (17:40) Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far. Shine in you crazy diamond! Pile on many more layers, and i'll be joining you there. Shine on you crazy diamond! And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, Sail on the steel breeze. Come on you poor child, you winner and loser, Come on you miner of truth and delusion. And shine! RIP: 𝕤𝕪𝕕 𝔹𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕖𝕥𝕥 ✮

A band, for over 50 years, writing and performing under the shadow of an early band mate. Sid Barret set their destiny. And, in reality, he never did leave the band. He has always been with them.

I even forgot that I like their second album. One of my best friends Ron Mitchell had it.
