Onew - Freddy Krueger / Taemin - Marilyn Manson / Jonghyun - Naruto / Key - Piccolo That year (2013) Halloween was LEGENDARY. SM had a party, but they were the only ones who showed up fully and properly dressed in costumes 😂And because of that they started the SM Halloween Party tradition. (Jonghyun once said it felt like they were the only ones who went nude at a nude beach 😂)

I always pictured it was something like in Legally Blonde when she gets tricked into thinking it was a costume party. Or in Mean Girls, when she's the only one to wear a regular costume lol.

If you notice in the beginning of Minho's "Heartbreak" MV, it shows the date 2021 12 21, which means he is in the present, but a few seconds later we see him in 2049 12 21 -- 28 years in the future. I see the car as a time machine and Minho keeps going back and forth in time trying to change the outcome of his life and to try to fix things. However, in the end he realizes that no matter what he does it will always end in heartbreak. So instead of continuing to relive the same pattern over and over again, he convinces himself to burn the car and stop living in the past. Without the car he can no longer travel back in time or see the future, so he is forcing himself to live in the present and except fate as it comes. As the lyrics of the song say, "You're just here for the heartbreak." Therefore, he eventually comes to the conclusion that nothing will change, so why keep reliving the heartbreak over and over again. Essentially, his future self keeps trying to contact his present self in order to warn him and to try and change what happened. I also see how this MV might be connected to his previous single "I'm Home," as well as SHINee's MV for their song "Tell Me What to Do," among others. In "I'm Home" he is also stuck in a time loop and he is just going through the motions trying to find a sense of home. In "I'm Home" he keeps having to answer the phone, just like we see him doing in "Heartbreak." He seems to always be confused by the message he hears, or the fact that maybe there is nothing on the line, when he picks up the phone in "I'm Home," so maybe this is connected to the fact that he keeps calling someone or retrieving a message on the phone in "Heartbreak." In "Tell Me What to Do" we see Minho is in a relationship with a girl and, although it's not his fault, he is causing Taemin to be heartbroken because he was also in love with the girl, and the other members are heartbroken because of the rift it is causing between them as a group of friends. The story in "Tell Me What to Do" has a completely different vibe than anything SHINee has ever done, and it was all about jealousy and division within their friendship, so I think that maybe "Heartbreak" is either an alternate reality or time period where Minho is trying to change the outcome of everything that happened in "Tell Me What to Do," etc. But as we see in "Heartbreak," he realizes that no matter what he does, it still will end in heartbreak, regardless of how the story plays out. I also have a feeling that eventually we will see connections between the storyline in the "Heartbreak" MV to the rest of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline, and it may even be connected to Minho's and SHINee's future MVs.

SHINee's "Colorful" was released in 2013 -- yes, their 5th anniversary -- and it is a song for the fans. It's a special holiday MV that was created to show how much appreciation the members and the fans have for each other. Everything you see in this MV happened in 2013. This was a special video that used clips from all different moments throughout that year, highlighting where the fans' support was particularly important. I think each of these clips were chosen to show that, it was the fans support during each of the examples used in this MV that made that year such a great year for them. So, you see them in several different concert venues and performances. Plus, you see them on the set of some of their most popular MVs, such as their "Dream Girl" MV, "Everybody" MV and "Why So Serious?"MV, which all came out in 2013. Plus, footage of some of their album cover and concert poster shoots. SHINee held special fansign events that filled whole stadiums, and they even took time to hang out with fans in between events when fans gathered outside of radio station studios, in the parking garages as they were going to their next interview or event, and at SHINee's hotels, etc. I think the clip with the fans standing in the long line that seemed to stretch clear down several blocks, was fans waiting for a fansign event. The whole MV is a tribute to Shawols. It's SHINee's way of saying, "Without our fans we would be nothing, " etc. It's us fans that make their life so colorful and in turn they make our lives colorful as well. :D And, where you saw the members dressed up in costumes, that was a clip of them dressed up for a fan event that also took place that year. They were one of the first Kpop groups to dress in full costume for Halloween and they are the group that really started the trend of wearing costumes on Halloween. In Korea Halloween really isn't a big deal normally and it's only been in the last few years that Koreans have started to embrace the western way of celebrating the day by dressing up and attending costume parties. But like everything SHINee does, they were one of the first and they are the reason why SM now holds one of the largest and most popular Halloween parties in Korea -- complete with a topnotch costume contest. This is why SHINee won Artist of the Year at the Melon Music Awards -- one of the most prestigious awards in the Kpop industry -- in 2013. The award wrapped up what was one of the busiest and most event packed years for SHINee. "Winter Wonderland" is one of SHINee's Japanese songs and it is one of their most popular winter/holiday songs. It's even more beautiful when you hear it live in concert.

Heartbreak is such a vibe. I know it's supposed to be sad, but I can't help but feel relaxed listening to this song. Minho's voice has always been soothing when he isn't coming for us with his sexy adlib whispers. Speaking of coming for us, Minho has taken his role as Shinee's maknae very seriously and taken a page out of Taemin's book with his Body Rythm performance. Watch at your own risk. Happy Christmas!

I've been waiting for this all week! Thanks for your reaction! I'm obsessed with Minho's new song. I do hope you check out his other single I'm Home sometime. Winter Wonderland is one of my favorites of their Japanese tracks. It's such an OT5 vocal flex. Lol I thought you had planned to do Colorful for Christmas (even though it wasn't listed in your schedule lol). Last Christmas was the SHINee cover released on SMTowns last Winter album 10 years ago. SMTown is finally coming out with another Winter album this year. There won't be an exclusively SHINee song but they take part in the song for all SM artists and Jinki has a collab song with Kyuhyun (from Super Junior) and Taeil (from NCT)! Happy holidays!!!

I’ve listened to “Heartbreak” *countless* times, but I hear a new ad lib or riff that impressed me every single time!!! It’s hauntingly beautiful. I love all these songs so much-and “Colorful” is one of my favorites…I can’t help but grin through the entire video, no matter how many times I see it! Heartbreak is such a vibe, SHINee solos have been so dark this year (except for our sunshine Onew)! It's a perfect late night song. I love what a vocal showcase winter wonderland is. Colorful is my favourite non-christmassy christmas song! A few of us recommended it as a seasonal reaction in the patreon comments so maybe it was in your subconscious! I'm a sucker for behind the scenes type mvs so it's perfect. Onew is the cutest. They really are all so pretty! Such a visual group, and they're all good looking in such different ways too. The huge hats that stood out to you are from the teaser photos for Everybody. The clips at 14:16 are from the Everybody teaser which might be my favourite teaser of all time, up there with the Fake Reality and Bad Love mood samplers. SHINee OWN halloween, they always come through with the costumes, did you see Onew's take on The Penguin this year? Terrifying. That was the start of the legendary SM halloween party, they inspired it! You got it right, it was an anniversary fan song. Last Christmas was actually from the previous SM winter album, there's a new one coming out tomorrow! They'll perform some of the songs from it at the free NYE SMTOWN concert, apparently it's going to be 6hrs long!!! It'll be streaming on the SM yt channel. Hope you had a great holiday! Oh! My personal ideas about the Heartbreak video are maybe about not being able to go back and change the past, but dwelling on it only causes hurt as well? Present time Programmer Minho seems to be able to send stuff to Future Minho via computery stuff (the glitchy items, the messages) whereas Future Minho can't really send any communications the opposite direction (all the missed phone calls). My personal headcanon is that Future Minho is in love with the mysterious sender of his messages but I haven't seen anyone else support that haha. However, while watching your reaction I noticed during one of the missed calls, the camera angle shows a statue of a hand on the programmer's desk almost touching or reaching out to him, showing both the space/time between the two characters but also some sort of attempt at a closeness. I definitely think the video can be interpreted lots of ways and I've really enjoyed spotting small details like that! The song is also absolutely a vibe.

While Colorful MV was released around Christmas the song isn't a Christmas song. It's a song for the fans the MV highlights SHINee's (and Shawol) moments from 2013! I love this MV so much, mostly because I got into SHINee that year 🥺 and it was one of the busiest SHINee years! I mean you can see everything they did in the MV (add to that their Japanese releases, variety/reality shows and solo projects!) And it was their 5th anniversary so yeah it is a very special song/video 💕

Onew - Freddie Krueger Minho had a filming schedule so he wasnt in that fansign event They went straight to an sm party after the fansign. That particular costume was basically the start of SM's halloween tradition because the SHINee boys were so extra 😂

I believe Boys meet U MV, funny they had an album by that name in 2013, but the song was released on the 2014 I'm your boy album, Boys meet U is one of my favorite full-length albums from Japanese discography I believe both albums are connected on MV Jonghyun had to ride Key's bike I believe, because at the time he didn't know how to ride a bike,(like me) that's when he bought one, and of course Minho had to *steal* kkkkkk Tom and Jerry moments
