When SHINee debuted, the title of Kings of K-pop was already taken by the YG group called Big Bang. SHINee became the Princes of K-Pop, but to me they are still Kings as well.

Fun Key fact: he is actually the fashion director for SHINee and has designed many of their concert outfits. Another fun Key fact: he also has a solo career, but this guide was made before his solo debut. For me personally, as fas as first solo albums from SHINee members, Key's is my favorite. Fun Onew fact: he also has a solo album, released right before his enlistment so he didn't promote it but it's beautiful. Also, you can definitely react to their solo careers alongside SHINee as a group! React to everything SHINee and shawols will be happy.

Key's album is really great. There is hardly any reactions to his album. Form of Therapy, a youtuber had an awesome reaction to Key's repackaged album "I Wanna Be". He made alot of key points that I agreed with. Anyways there should be more reactions to his album. Key did amazing. His voice really shined and showed alot of range that even surprised me.

SHINee and Exo trained together but SHINee debuted 4 years before and they have the same age!. So to your question, SHINee mentored EXO when they debuted. One more thing: to understand Taemin, you really do need to understand SHINee. Although he's said he's started coming out of it (Why Not the Dancer), he was an introvert for many years - you wouldn't know it from his stage presence!

How SHINee does it.. it’s like.. they don’t follow the trend, they do their own thing, and they make a trend. Ex., if Kpop releases all colorful & bubbly upbeat, they release dark/cool/futuristic concept, when others follow later.. SHINee again goes 360 and releases a cute bop. If releases are into genre A, they’ll release a never heard Genre Z into the kpop scene.. when others follow, they already be doing another.

Jonghyun wrote lyrics to Spoiler, the song only not the entire song. But he playfully used all the songs in the album into Spoiler. It’s the opening song of the album, hence a Spoiler to the album’s songs, hence titled Spoiler.. 👌👌

As I have mentioned before, SHINee's whole concept is they are supposed to be an experimental group, so with every new song, including each song on their albums, it will have a different vibe and feel to it. One thing that SHINee are known for is setting trends in the music industry. SHINee are the ones that the industry looks to to show them what the next sound and style will be, case and point, with "View." Key has even mentioned in an interview once how daunting it has become for them with every new song and album, trying to come up with something new and fresh. After more than 11 years in the industry, they have pretty much done it all. And yet they are still expected to come up with something new that has never been done before or heard of, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. They feel the pressure of the entire industry waiting to see and hear what new sound and style SHINee have discovered. Jonghyun was known as one of the most prolific singers/songwriters of his generation and he is one of the very first idols to be known for his songwriting and composing skills. In his lifetime, Jonghyun wrote about 40% of the songs on SHINee albums in total. But he was famous for saying that he never wanted his voice to color SHINee's style too much so he never allowed more than 1 or 2 of his songs to be included on a SHINee album at one time. So, the song "Spoiler" was wrote by him but the album Dream Girl -- Misconceptions of You was not all by him. SHINee's sound was influenced by Jonghyun because of his unique main vocals, but their sound was all about the group as a whole. So that is why Jonghyun was a songwriter and composer and a solo artist. Many of the songs that Jonghyun wrote were given to other artists such as Taemin, Lee HI, IU, and EXO. And all of Jonghyun's solo albums are wrote and and composed or in collaboration with him. He was a highly respected songwriter and composer in the industry. He was one of the only SM artists to have complete control of his own work. P..S. if you notice, most of the songs that Jonghyun wrote that were given to SHINee have Minho listed as a collaboration because Minho writes the majority of his raps in their songs. (Minho is not the second rapper, he is the Main rapper in SHINee. Key raps but he is a lead rapper. But, to say Minho sings "Some" is deceiving because he actually sings about as much as all the other members, his parts are just not as prominent because his voice is lower and he doesn't sing the main parts of the song. He is a singer that also happens to have the job of covering the rap sections. ) I may have mentioned this before, but, SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group, because hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular in 2008 when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. (SHINee has been trained in rapping and singing that's why they all can pretty much cover all aspects of any song.) But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull of hip-hop, so SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better and they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for. I, for one, am so glad they debuted with their signature R&B style instead of hip-hop. Can you imagine if the world never knew the amazing vocals and sound that is SHINee today? Things would be so different.

@Eliza T I have also personally heard Key say more than once to an interviewer, and I quote, "Did you know, that as trainees we were originally training to be more of a hip-hop group? But after a while it was shown that we just didn't have the swag to pull off hip-hop, so they changed up our style to more of what you heard in "Replay"." He said it in English, so I know that was exactly what he said and it wasn't something that was misinterpreted in translation.

Jonghyun had Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), depression that's related to changes in seasons and for Jonghyun it always intensifies during winter.. His depression actually since before his debut, he came from a broken family (dad-out-of picture).. he really vocal about his depression and most of us fans knew about it.. most of us thought, his somehow overcome it cuz his so happy throughout his solo concert a week before the tragedy.. he even promise us with a new album and new SHINee concert tour.. During that month, all of the members quite busy with their own solo activities even other idols too were to busy with year ends shows etc.. whatever it is, he did well, we love you Kim Jonghyun..

About Jonghyun... he was always very open about his feelings and fears. If you start listening to his music and read his lyrics you will get it. Maybe you will cry and feel sad, but at the same time it heals to listen to his music and his voice. Some songs I can recommend you that tell his story are Elevator, a song he wrote to himself (his reflection in a mirror from an elevator), or The End of a day (a song that compliments you for your hard work during a day, something he missed in his life) or Hashtag (a song in which he talks about stuff people make up and things they say that hurt others). But it are not just these particular songs, that make you know him more. All of his songs are masterpieces, so please take a listen. And something i would like to tell you... he wrote a letter which a friend of him published after his death in which he talks about his condition and what he was going through. I dont know if you want to react to it or read it for yourself, but after you questioned what he was going through... he basically told everyone but nobody listened the way he needed or coul help in a way that could help him. Thank you for every reaction to SHINee! They are my strength and my love. My home and everytime I listen to them I feel safe. I just wanted to let you know that I appreaciate your work and that I am very thankful for your videos!

The song End of a day is kind of related to this letter because he told his fans what he wanted to be told. The more I think about it the more it hurts but the more people listen to it the more people get help and strength because of his experiences and his way to deal with his demons. And this way was always music. He loved music and did everything until the very end because of music and because of the ones who loved his music. For me music will always be related to him. No matter what, his love for it made me realize how much of an impact music can have. Hopefully it can help others as much as it helped me during difficult times.

Minho is known to have written and co-written many of the raps for SHINee's songs. For the initial albums he worked alongside JQ, a composer of SM, something that is not common among idols that have just debuted, In general, everyone has different talents and abilities, however, it is curious how being totally different they merge into a perfect combination.

The duet with Taemin on piano with Onew singing was very emotional for him. He had had vocal surgery and feared he might not recover but he did and sang rainy blue and cried at the end. Prior to that he had a 3 month rest where he couldn't talk or sing.

So happy and thankful to see this reaction! Honestly it breaks my heart that most people either only react to Taemin and don’t acknowledge SHINee or won’t react to the group after hearing that Jonghyun passed away. There is so much to enjoy with this group and they’ve always just wanted to bring joy to others. They are crazy big trendsetters, honestly almost every “new” trend in kpop SHINee has already done. Like retro style music became bigger after ‘1 of 1’ by SHINee but no one has gone as above and beyond as they have. Everybody looks up to them and they are very respected. Also Jonghyuns solo art is something that really needs lyrics to understand the complexity behind it. His music was a way of seeing into his thoughts, to see the pain and joy he felt. I would love to see your reaction to his work and more of SHINee as a whole!! The all white outfits were from SHINee World IV which is amazing and I definitely recommend pretty much any song from that concert but I believe there is a 10 clip of the beginning which is great!!!

When KZbinrs are getting into SHINee and are wanting to listen to EVERYTHING they put out... please know it's literally hundreds of songs. SHINee's put out... 10 Korean albums & 5 Japanese albums... Taemin alone has put out 4 Korean albums & 4 Japanese albums... Jonghyun 5 Korean albums.... Key has 2 albums (1 Japanese, 1 Korean)... Onew has 1 Korean album as well... This doesn't include random collaborations and one offs. SHINee's discography is not for the faint of heart! XD So if you really want to listen to it ALL, I would recommend not attempting to record the entirety of your experience for KZbin otherwise you'll never finish. But there is a WEALTH of music to enjoy and ALL of their releases are fire! :)

@@MONQTV I'm very confident as a Shawol that I've heard nearly everything except closed fanmeeting performances. :) But half the fun of exploring SHINee is your own discovery process. I've been a fan for almost 8 years now and I still find performances I've never seen. When people ask me where to start, I don't know what to tell them anymore because there's so much! And a lot of their music I got to enjoy in real time. So I enjoy Taemin's "Danger" (2014 solo debut) differently than I enjoy "MOVE" (2017 hit) because the image he had in 2017 didn't exist yet in 2014! But I know a lot of people found him in 2017 because of "MOVE" and they don't have the same passion for "Danger" (which is perfection!) that I have. Meanwhile anyone who lived through 2016's Taemin era is a "Drip Drop" enthusiast. And then, there are a lot of k-pop fans who've never seen Taemin's Japanese MVs which are like watching a living breathing anime character - especially "Flame of Love". I could go on forever about this! But just explore and have fun! It's an endless rabbit trail of incredible music. If you want help exploring, we'll always point you in a good direction once we figure out your preferences! SHINee has such a diverse and eclectic discography that it's not always easy to guide new listeners. But we'll do our best! :)

I will forever miss Jonghyun. I cried watching Jonghyun's part. Yes, SHINee - all 5 are solo artists themselves. Your reaction to them as a group or an individual, its ok as long as SHINee in it. SHINee are officially "The Princes of Kpop" and BigBang are "The Kings of Kpop." BigBang's symbol is even a crown to represent that title. A lot of groups are considered kings for what they contributed to the industry -- that's fine, they are kings. But BigBang are officially "The Kings." Just to be clear, SHINee's music style is R&B (R 'n' B) not Ret B. I know that almost everyone that reacts to this video is confused by that word because the font that was used is kind of hard to read. So I just wanted to make sure you understood what it said. ;D They are not saying Taemin loves vampires, they are saying that some times, such as in this performance, the way he is dressed and looks reminds them of a vampire. It's one of Taemin's nicknames. Its a joke that's supposed to get a chuckle. And yes, Taemin plays the piano. You have to check out this live performance of "Rainy Blue" at their Japanese concert. It's one of the most emotional performances. One of the reasons why Key chose to come up with funny answers for that questionaire is the fact that this Weekly Idol episode was part of their 10th anniversary and so they have been on the show dozens of times and had to fill out that same questionnaire on the show dozens of times, and they have done the same thing hundreds of more times for other variety shows. So, after that many years, it has become boring just to give a straight answer. They often try to come up with clever and funny answers to give them things to talk about and to create comedic moments in the show. What's particularity notable about the fact that Key said he is from New York, is the fact that he is fluent in English -- almost to the point you would think he is a naive speaker. So, if you didn't know him, you might think he really was from New York. No, there is no MV for "Stranger," it is a B-side track. So you HAVE to watch that live performance, which that clip is from, It's part of their SHINee World Concert IV in Seoul (SWC4). The only way to experience the magnificence of "Stranger," and SHINee in general, is by watching their live concert performances. The only way to experience that song, and most of SHINee's performances is to see it live in concert (or at least in official video form.) And that is why we have been telling you, you need to watch their concert performances. There are clips of every performance from their official DVD for all of their concerts and the SHINee World Concert IV in Seoul's full DVD has even been uploaded on KZbin, so you can watch the full concert and experience exactly what a whole concert is like just like if you were really there. For the songs that don't have MVs I suggest that you pair the lyric video with their live concert performance of the song. As I have mentioned before, concert performances are pretty safe to react to and they are much safer then comeback stages. Actually, the entire concert of SWC3 and SWC4 both in Seoul are MUST WATCH for any new Shawol. The amazing thing about Key's high note in "Like a Fire" is that if you listen to the original version he doesn't have a high note in that song. But during that performance, which is from their SWC3 in Seoul, he, out of nowhere, decided he wanted to add a high note. It's almost as if he decided he wanted to try and outdo Jonghyun who is the group's high note master and the one who has the high note right before Key in the song. :D That's Key's classic diva attitude. "1 of 1" sounds like a '90's boy band because what's what it is. The whole theme of that album is supposed to be '90s retro. Everything about that MV will give you '90s vibes and will remind you of the classic '90s sound and feel. That is what it's trying to do. To understand why "Married to the Music" is a "Halloween bop" you have to see the MV and hear the song. You will understand when you see it. It has a very "Rocky Horror Picture Show" vibe and it has become a Halloween cult classic among the fandom. Most of us make watching that MV every year part of our Halloween tradition. If you notice, that last clip of SHINee playing charades, and Taemin trying to guess "suit case," was at a fan meeting in Japan. So, they were all speaking Japanese. As you can see, SHINee are all fluent in Japanese. SHINee are just as popular as Japanese artists as they are Kpop artists. And, yes, I called them Japanese artists, because they are part of the mainstream music scene in Japan. Not just Kpop artists who occasionally release a Japanese song or album. Most Japanese people don't even consider them foreign artists. For every Korean album, they also have a Japanese album, and most of the time it's not just a remake of the Korean version, but it's an album with songs specifically for their Japanese fans. And 50% of Taemin's solo work is also Japanese songs and albums. SHINee spends about 50% of their career in Japan doing events and concerts, etc.

I agree that BigBang are the 'Kings of Kpop' but there isn't really an 'official' title. It's just how fans named them after their impact and then YG kind of started to promote them with the title. These aren't really official just like Onces and Sones still argue about the National Girl Group or when a new gen. starts.

It's a title not just given by fans but its been adopted by the industry as well. Plus, BigBang's title as Kings is pretty official, that is why their symbol is a crown. The crown is a trademarked symbol when it comes to the use of it with BigBang's merchandise. That is why their lightsticks have a crown on top and it's why no other Kpop group uses anything to do with crowns to represent them. Because that title and symbol have been taken by BigBang for close to 14 years. As I said, there are lots of groups who have king status for all that they have done for the industry. and when talking about them people will call them kings, and deservedly so.But it's pretty well known within the industry that BigBang have the title as "The Kings." I think if we were to take a poll of all Kpop fans and industry kingpins, and asked everyone which group is considered quote, "The Kings"? The first group that would come to everyone's mind would be BigBang. And I think the same thing would go for SHINee's tile as "The Princes" I'm not just talking about their fans, but the entire industry and all of the Kpop fandoms. If you have been a Kpop fan for any substantial amount of time, when someone says 'The Kings of Kpop" or "The Princes of Kpop" you know exactly which group they are referring to. It might not be wrote down in any official capacity, but It's a pretty well known fact. Yes, for the most part I do agree with you that titles are fluid and they are highly debatable. But there are also somethings that are just so well known and agreed upon by such a large majority, that that shear fact gives it clout and makes it about as close to fact as you can get without being etched in stone. A well known fact in the kpop world Big Bang has been considered by many idol groups as "Kings" and Shinee as "princes". So I who have been a kpop fan since 2007 tend to believe this Fact till today🙂

Yes pretty much every group since the beginning of Kpop has a color that represents them. The groups color is a way for fandoms to show their support for their groups. In the '90s when Kpop began, during award shows and events where multiple groups performed, it was all about which fandom had the most people in attendance, and how you could tell who was a part of which fandom was by the colors they wore and the color of the balloons they held. Before lightstick technology, or even glow stick technology existed, how you indicated which fandom you were part of was by decking yourself out in as much of the fandom clothing and colors as you could. As I said, every group has a color. BTS, color is sliver; EXO's is "Cosmic Latte" (sort of grey); NCT's is "Pearl NEO champagne" (neon green); Girls Generation is rose pink, Super Junior is sapphire blue; etc. SHNee's color is officially now aqua blue pearl, but before LED light technology existed, and the range of colors were not as numerous, SHINee's color was green, so in some of their older live performances you might see the audience with green glow sticks. You even see the fan color represented in a lot of their MVs. The colors most predominate in SHINee videos will be Blue/aqua/green. And that goes for most Kpop groups, they will use their color a lot in everything they do. If you want to see what the fandom name or color is for any Kpop group, here is a great site that lists almost every Kpop group that every existed kprofiles.com/kpop-official-fanclub-names-fan-colors/ Also, in case you weren't aware the fan color is where lightsticks evolved from. The lights in the audience that everyone has are called lightsticks. Lightsticks are a part of a group's official merchandise and it's one of the items that fans purchase to represent that they are a member of a group's fandom. Most newer versions of lightsticks are controlled by bluetooth so the lighting technicians can change the color of the lightsticks whenever they want and they can make it flash and pulse to the music. And some lightsitcks, such as EXO's, are extra special because not only do they have a fan color, but each of the EXO members have their own official color so, often when specific members are performing on stage they change the color to whatever color coincides with that member. Almost all Kpop groups have an official lightstick and official fandom color The fans spend a pretty good amount of money to purchase those lightsticks. I am sure if you google any group with the word lightstick you will find several sites where they are for sale. But be warned, most are pretty expensive because most are more than just a light. :D EXO's lightstick has the EXO hexagon symbol on top and it says EXO in the middle and during concerts you will see it change 10 different colors. However, most lightsticks are primarily one color -- whatever color represents the group. For example, SHINee's official lightstick is shaped like a diamond. And if you hold it up and look at the reflection the diamond makes on the wall, you will see a 5 point star to represent the 5 members. SHINee's symbol is a diamond because they SHINe(e) like diamonds and it lights up an aqua blue/teal color. BTS' lightstick is the ARMY bomb so it looks like a TNT-type bomb. BlackPink has a pink hammer. BigBang's lightstick is yellow and it has a crown on top because BigBang's fandom is VIPs and BigBang are known as the kings of Kpop. Some group's lightsticks aren't even sticks, but they are bracelets or watch-style lights that you can wear. It all depends on the group. And some groups that have been around a long time, or whose company likes to continuously come out with new merchandise, have multiple versions of lightsticks. Each are very unique and specific to the group. However, in some older Kpop group's performances, from their older concerts or live performances you might see that the audience only has glow sticks because before there were lightsticks fans brought or were given glow sticks in the group's color. And even before glow sticks were a thing, fans would all wave a balloon that was the color of their group (the only disadvantage to that was that the artists on stage couldn't see the balloons when the lights were off. LOL) And during award shows and events where multiple groups are present the group's lightsticks and balloons are, and were, an important way for fans to show their support for their group and to tell everyone around them who they are there to see etc.

I started listening to kpop when I saw Rain, and listened to his music, and it took off from there!!! I became a 5hinee fan in 2009, and couldn't stop. I love, love, love this group!!! Shinee debuted 2008, Exo, another one of my favorite groups, debut in 2012. Jonghyun.....omg.....Prince of Kpop!!! Taemin, the Korean Michael Jackson. I could go on and on.

Thank you for continuing to react to SHINee and getting to know them better through this guide! As others have probably already mentioned, 4/5 (Taemin, Jonghyun, Key, Onew) members have released a solo album (this guide is a little outdated) so feel free to start reacting to their solo stuff whenever you want. I don’t mind and I’m sure other shawols won’t mind either. Key is my bias so I’m anticipating seeing you get around to his music! Some other random tidbits: Repackaged albums include the same songs from the regular album plus a few new songs, Taeyeon and Jonghyun are very close friends (still doesn’t feel right to refer to him in past tense...) and they have another song together called “Breath” that came out in 2014 through SM The Ballad, SHINee have never performed SHIFT live but Key performed it by himself at his solo concert (and killed it!).

Onew went through a major surgery in his vocal cord on 2014 that may affect his voice but fortunately it didn’t and Rainy blue was his first performance after this surgery. The composer of “Rainy Blue”, Hideaki Tokunaga, went through everything Onew did. He had the surgery, he struggled, and the experience changed his life. After he recovered from his surgery, he composed and sang “Rainy Blue” as his first comeback after the surgery and that’s why onew got emotional while singing.

I would say TVXQ, Super Junior and Big Bang are like called the kings of kpop and because Shinee is a younger group or like little brothers to tvxq and suju they are called the princes. And Super Junior have been called the kings of hallyu wave for a long time.

It’s ultimately your decision whether you react to SHINee and members solo together or not, but I would be more than happy if you did. You could go like you’re doing it right now, chronologically, and just mix members albums when they come with SHINee’s discography. Also, please consider reacting to their concert performances! Most of b-sides don’t have MVs, but have spectacular live stages and it’s safe to react to their concerts (unlike some music shows). One more thing, don’t miss on SHINee’s Japanese discography. It’s quite different than Korean one, more pop-y and easy for once (although when you hear songs like Password or Picasso you go wow), but Japanese ballads? They’re on a whole different level of awesomeness (I LOVE Korean ballads, they’re amazing, but Japanese ballads just hit different, not better, but different). Also, SHINee’s TokyoDome concerts are mind blowing ♥️

29:30 SHINee and EXO are from the same company and trained together but SHINee debuted 4 years earlier than EXO so they're their seniors however both groups are really close. For example EXO's Kai and SHINee's Taemin are well known best friends since their school days and always practiced dance together

@@MONQTV Yes there are! Taemin actually chose Kai to have a collab on his very first solo album. It's a song called "Pretty boy" and it was written by Jonghyun for Taemin. They have several performances together but the lyrics of the song are also really nice to react to since Jonghyun wrote the song about Taemin and the image he had back then since Taemin struggled a lot with his "feminine" image and wasn't really taken seriously. However today he embraces his androgyny and proudly talks about wearing make up and shattering gender norms in K-Pop with his choreography!

MONQ TV Taemin’s debut album ACE has a song featuring Kai, it’s called Pretty Boy and the lyrics were written by Jonghyun! He basically wrote a song for Taemin to tell the world he wasn’t just a pretty face and that being a sensitive man doesn’t make you less “manly”. Taemin was dealing with some issues regarding his appearance at that time, specially when he had long hair around 2010-2012 and people used to tell him he looked like a girl cuz he was so pretty. He nowadays has embraced his androgynous appearance and makes the most of it, but it was something that bothered him before. I’m glad he realized it’s not bad to be beautiful and that music and art should not be ruled by stereotypes.

Mad late but when you were asking about why Jonghyun did what he did and you’re right that’s only an answer between him and God. TBH in my opinion I think he was ready to go on that day and nobody was going to change his mind. He felt that was the only way he could finally be happy. Depression is something that a lot of ppl deal with and deal with it in many different ways. From my understanding of things he didn’t want anymore help. Maybe he felt it just wasn’t enough. We may never truly know. But I’m so glad that they decided to continue on and keep going. And I’m glad that they not only did it for themselves but for Jonghyun as well.

SHINee- Princes. BigBang- Kings TVXQ/DBSK were considered the Gods. Well if you do Taemin’s solo stuff, you’ll have to do Key, Onew, and Jonghyun’s solo work lol. Jonghyun did a show I forgot what it was called, but he talked about his depression a lot. Even on his radio show, but the show was around the time of his first solo album.

Thank you for doing this reaction! I've been a fan of SHINee for quite a long time and these days, I just miss them so so so much. SM basically releases nothing, no contents, in their inactive period (because Onew, Key and Minho are serving in the military at the moment). So, it's kinda lovely watching SHINee old videos with someone who is new to them, you know. It's fun watching their reactions. if im not late, pls start listening to SHINee WONDERFUL (YES!!!!) discography in order, u truly can see the improvement over the era, n that they keep changing their styles, tho from 2008 - 2011 u can kind of felt the different vibe they gave in their albums to 2012 - present. even then they still keep trying many styles. for vocals i truly have nothing left to say. i just gonna say that ive know them first since those hallyu era (where ppl start listening to SHINee 'ring ding dong' n other group songs n that time when korea start get noticed too), since then SHINee keep the bar high that any group i listen truly have to deliver the harmony as good as SHINee(this just one of many factors as to why SHINee is hard to beaten to me).

Thanks for this I just want to say that u guys should never forget jonghyun at all he lives on in our memories and hearts As someone who has struggled with depression and tried commiting suicide for over 10 years I know what he went t through and how it feels and unfortunately only a few of us get to see the light at the end As a fan it has been a journey with them and at least now its better but there are some days u just hear the opening of replay and u can't go on with the song anymore He's the reason I'm going to Korea to be a counselling psychologist and my main client targets are the idols Idk how ill reach them but somehow some way I have to at least have a hand in. That is so wonderful. ❤ Jonghyun is my ultimate idol bias...he's change my views in my thinking of suicide. At 50 yrs old his music, his writing has changed my life and has made me realize and acknowledged the true struggles of young kids and adults today. I had a very negative view of suicide...many of my generation does, but thru SHINee and Jonghyun I've come to now understand that mental health is really a true struggle in the youth of these new generations. Its help me understand my own 27 year old daughter's mental health struggles. I am inspired that their music has steared you on a pathway to help the ones who are in need of help. For your question, the repackaged album contains the song from the released main album of that year with some new extra songs. Like in the Married to the Music Repackaged album. It contains all the songs from Odd album with new songs such as Married to the Music, Chocolate, Savior, and Hold You. 😊

@@MONQTV For SHINee, not usually. The only exception I can think of is "Replay" having a Boom Track remix I believe on their first EP. Otherwise, SM doesn't do remixes for them - which is a shame because I binged all of the fan remixes of "Everybody" in 2013 and I was LIVING FOR IT. I wish they had done some official remixes.

Nothing says you have to wait to finish SHINee before you get into their solo stuff. And nothing, other than your own rules, says you even have to wait to check out any of SHINee's songs or performances. I see no reason why you couldn't check out each of the members solo work and performances in between SHINee group content. Although they are members of a group, their solo work is a completely separate from the group. Taemin, in particular, is considered a solo artist, as well as a member of SHINee. He is one of the most popular solo artists period. Not just a member of SHINee who does solo projects, but a whole separate title as one of Kpop's leading solo artists. And that also goes for Jonghyun. They were both solo artists who happened to also be in SHINee. So the only thing that is stopping you is yourself. Taemin has been a soloist since 2014 so there are dozens of songs, and even more live performances, just of his solo work you need to check out. And Jonghyun was a solo artist starting in 2015 so he has a few songs, albums and performances you need to check out as well. Plus, Onew and Key had their solo debut right before they enlisted in the military in 2018. So it's up to you how long you want to wait to get to all of that ;D

Do what you want and like, if you have time and feel it then look up Taemin’s solo music at same time as SHINee’s group music. Also the the person meant RnB but the font looked weird lol. Also you guessed it right a repackage means an already album get added three or more new songs to it and the repackage would have another title track. Fun fact Key and Onew also released solo albums before they enlisted and Minho released his first solo song before he enlisted too

I really enjoy your videos Monq! Lives are the more requested 'cause their lives are something else, but I'm glad you will be checking bsides and lyrics too. Jonghyun wrote a bunch of SHINee's songs and Minho has been writing his raps since debut too. If you feel like it's not too much to start with their solo stuff already, I will be watching anything SHINee related of course. All their solos are different and great, they showcase their personalities well. I recommend you to start with Taemin just because he's the one releasing new music soon. One fun fact, he was the first artist in SM Entertainment to being offered to start a solo career meanwhile still being in his group. Obviously the music comes first, but I think it'd be good if you can check out some of their variety programs in the future, or their last reality called "SHINee's back" (is fully subbed in youtube 6 caps of 10min) just for you to get to know the personalities better. I assure you laughs are guaranteed.

For the school uniform settings in korean show, there are different reasons for it. 1 of the popular show "knowing bros", all the MCs are the classmates and the guests who come to show are transfer students from another school. In a way, this concept make them all equal?! In a sense because most of the asian got things like being polite and showing respect to the elders or who are senior than u in industry. When every1 is equal?! In this show for instance they can say whatever they want to each other with no extra pressure. For the show where SHINee is wearing the school uniform, this was an old show, i dont even remember anymore, the skit was like they were unlucky and they had to go to past and correct it or something. Correct me if I am wrong other Shawols. Hard to find this clip and i only watched it once or twice when it come out. But this kind of random thing is normal in korean shows. 😂😂😂

In my opinion, I think you would appreciate Taemin's growth and glow up more (especially vocally and in his demeanor/presence) if you continue to watch SHINee's stuff in order and then do Taemin's solo stuff once you hit the 2013 era.
