Kibum (Key) wrote the lyrics to You&I , he said that he wrote them last summer but recently edited them , i personnally think that he wrote them about both his grandmother and Jonghyun , he lost his grandma back in 2014 who basically was the one who raised him up rather than his parents , and now he lost Jonghyun ...

SHINee's music has that effect. We can feel the 'feeling' they want to convey in their voices/music and make us emotional. They are very sincere with their music, they have an identity. We call that SHINee-like ~~ Nice reaction! You really need to listen more of their songs :)

there's one time in the interview, where Taemin explain why they decided to move on and start the new album. It's simply because they want to stay together as Shinee.. They don't want to disband, and I think that the last thing that they need.. Making this album means instead of busy with their own activities, they are able to promoting together, staying together as a group, as a family, and coping with their grieve together...

This comeback is really hard for us Shawols but I can't imagine how it must be for them, and of course that anyone can see that, no matter how long you've been their fan. What happened shook all the industry and it changed everything for SHINee and our fandom. But they decided to continue being together and move forward as five, always five, and our job now is support them and show them so much love. I really hope you become their fan the more you know about them, because you won't regret it. They've been my faves for 6 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way. 💙

I understand if you saw gifs from the interview thinking they might have been uncomfortable for them... but they actually agreed to talk about it (because they said they should talk about it at least once) and in the moment they got emotional. The hosts were definitely treading as lightly as they could around them. If you watch the whole thing you can tell they wanted to talk about it on their own terms in front of the public. I'm glad they did, because the articles that came out in Korea after that interview got a lot of attention so it felt like people got to understand everything from SHINee's viewpoint. They talked about some really important things, like how they felt about the comments online, getting counselling, wanting to move forward together and not break up after what happened. One thing really important they said was they they are not entirely okay yet, but they wanted to make this comeback for themselves and Jonghyun. I think it means that with this comeback they want to honour him and heal together.

Yeah I got very emotional too. Most of the episode was actually very light hearted and talking about anecdotes together and they addressed this at the end. You seem like a very empathetic person which is not a bad thing at all... I'm glad you don't hold back from feeling things. Jonghyun actually always said it was okay for men to cry because men are people too haha

Shinee World is like family to me. No other fandom makes me feel this way(Literally seeing the pearl aqua ocean and hearing fanchants makes me emotional haha). Even if you are new, you're still here with us. Thank you for taking time out of your life to feel what we do, and I'm happy that their music gives you something in return.

There is nothing wrong with tearing up or getting emotional. You not knowing SHINee longer doesn’t mean you aren’t entitled to what you are feeling. We even cry just reading a book or hearing a fiction story. I think that is empathy, sorry if my vocabulary fails me. But I see you are sensitive to what others feel, and end up sharing, feeling what that person might he feeling?? Ahh.. I can’t explain, my vocabulary fails me. Respects. And, nothing wrong with a man showing emotions. That’s the most manly thing actually, for me. You & I got me most, the lyrics.. esp. that it’s written by member Key.

Oh my gosh you're reaction to U & I made me cry. It's okay. You're very empathetic and that reminded me of Jonghyun. Jonghyun was the same way. He was sensitive and emotional and not afraid to cry. He was a beautiful person inside and out. And he in fact was raised my women too, his mom and older sister (whom he loved dearly). I think being an emotional and sensitive person also made him suffer sometimes. Ahh I miss him. 💔 But thank you for the reaction. I'm glad that you're taking your time to really get to know SHINee

But without that emotional and sensitive side to him we would have never been able to experience the amazing song writer and composer that he was. That sensitive side to Jonghyun is what made him such a great artist and person. The world has truly lost one of the greatest people to have blessed this world and he will forever be missed and loved and SHINee will forever make sure of that. :D

If you watch the full video instead of the gifs, because believe me I felt angry that they asked them that even though I expected it... The gifs were taken out of context, they were still uncomfortable and sad but the entire thing was more like, "I know it may be too soon but-" instead of "You are four members now let's talk about that" the hosts were very respectful all things considering. SHINee actually directed the music video, its based off of the Little Prince which was one of Jonghyun's favorite stories. The lyrics are also about Jonghyun (in my opinion) with the references to the moon, since a blue moon appeared the day Jonghyun died. They are still grieving, even in their live performances, you can just tell. They will always be grieving, they lost more than a member, they lost family. But the entire album is amazing as per SHINee's normal.

There is nothing to be sorry about!!!! All it means is you are a true Shawol and you are an intelligent person with emotions that understands the significance of the songs and this album and what it means to everyone. In "Good Evening" not only is the shadow that appears when they look into the tunnel/well (whatever you call it) speculated to be Jonghyun's shadow, but the fox is thought to also represent him. Onew intensely stares into the eyes of the fox, almost as if he is communicating with the fox through his thoughts, and to me its as if he is sharing a moment with Jonghyun. There is a fox in the story "The Little Prince" and "The Little Prince' was one of Jonghyun's favorite stories, plus a fox often represents the after life and the spirit of someone who has passed on reincarnated in many cultures. Also in the beginning you see 5 chairs and one of them is empty. An empty chair is often used to represent the spirit of someone who has passed on as well. But that's just a small portion of the hidden messages within the "Good Evening' MV. If you really delve in deep you will discover that the whole MV can be connected to SHINee forever being 5 members and them including Jonghyun in all that they do. As you know, the album is called "The Story of Light" and its all about finding the light out of the darkness, etc. There are 5 trees at the end which could represent the fact that SHINee will forever be 5 members. i agree, the story in the MV could be showing the 5 stages of grief the members went through and how they have now at the end of the MV started to find their way out of it and have made the choice to continue to keep on running and continue on as a group, etc. But I could go on and on ... every part of this MV has a deeper message and meaning, you just have to open yourself up to the fact that everything in this MV has multiple meanings and purposes. We should all just prepare ourselves that it is always going to be emotional for us from now on and there is nothing wrong with that. In SHINee's most recent fan meeting for their 10th anniversary the members all vowed that SHINee will always be 5 and when they performed the choreo for some of their most iconic songs they intentionally left Jonghyuns spot open and only filled in for him when something just wouldn't work without someone in that position. I think we are always going to have reminders of him in all that SHINee does from now on, and that is the way it should be. He was loved and will never be forgotten, and when possible, should always be involved in things that have to do with SHINee. Never apologize for having emotions and I love that you aren't afraid to show them when it really matters. OT5 forever and ever. I think we can feel Jonghyun's presence and influence in this album and songs because a lot of what made SHINee's sound uniquely SHINee (and this album is no exception) was because of Jonghyun. He not only shaped SHINee's sound because he was the main vocal of the group but he also wrote and composed over 60 percent of SHINee's songs, so he can be felt in everything they do. It wouldn't be SHINee if we didn't hear his influence shine through in their music, that is what makes SHINee's sound so unlike any other. This comeback makes me so happy :D Like EXO, where we have to search for the hidden meanings and messages in their MVs to piece together their story, I think from now on we will always be searching for the hidden messages and moments that represent Jonghyun in everything SHINee does.

They can dance and sing. Doing both together and staying in key is hard. So when I hear that it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I may chuckle some times but just because BTOBs voice cracks do that to me. They make fun of each other on stage when it happens so I can’t help it lol. I’m glad you enjoy the video 😊

I think u are right about the 1st part when u talked about the cameras. How they are watched. Anything they do someone will always want to judge them. Taemin sitting on top of the tv and onew sitting infront of him, i feel like taemin represents the public how they are always keeping an eye out. Waiting for something to happen so they can call them out. To connect with that, more than being sad i think they were expressionless tbh to show that any sort of emotion seen on their face, can be misinterpreted or seen in a diff light so they keep the straight face so that even if they are cut off from their freedom of space, they will never show them how they feel. (Esp onew's expression kinda like bored)

Ma. Crescente Pangan it’s unfortunate. I know even them as artists understand that they’re in the spotlight. It comes with the territory but I’m also sure a part of them wishes people would give them space when it’s needed.

Thanks again for the reaction! I can't wait for the other two parts too. And I love how you really looked into their music and are sensitive to their situation. I love the music but everything is still heartbreaking. And I agree that good evening sounds sad. The music is bright but you can hear and feel the sadness and longing in their voices. And I don't want to sound like I'm putting them in a box and making them sound like sad people but its what is true and real and I know they put that in their music. I feel like they are singing to jonghyun and especially taemin and onew's adlibs after the second chorus it hurts a little. But I'm still trying to enjoy this comeback. And it really makes me happy when I see you really enjoy their music and try to understand them. Shinee's music is so special to me and you can tell that they really put their all in their singing and performance, and they don't just sing the songs they are given, they really make it their own and create a works of art. Thank you if you read this cuz I'm just ranting about how good they are now haha i miss jonghyun so much but shinee is forever! Can't wait for your next reaction~

Add I wanted to add that I'm thankful and touched that you can empathize and yes I believe that music has the power to do that. Honestly the hardest part was feeling that no one understood why jonghyuns passing affected me so much. But his music was really my everything and I hated that people couldn't understand just because I didn't know him. Of course its a different pain to his friends and family that I can't even imagine, but it was more difficult with no one to understand or empathize. So thank you for helping me feel a little understood. Even if you thought it was too emotional it made someone feel a little better!

I'm not saying to make a video out of it, idk if you could get away with that, idk how copyright works but I personally love watching SHINee's concerts and i think it is a great way to see a mix of their older, lesser known songs as well as their popular title songs and just see a great liver performance. My faves are SHINee World III and SHINee World IV

i second everything you said and agree whole heartedly. You can't truly appreciate all that makes SHINee one of the best and legends until you see a whole concert. SHINee concerts are one of the only concerts I can watch over and over again from beginning to end and never be board, even though I know exactly what is going to happen because I have seen it so many times. :D I too recommend watching their SHINee World Concert 3 and SHINee World Concert 4 in Seoul official DVD footage. There is nothing like a SHINee concert.

btw, that live performance isn't a great example, because I'm pretty sure SM edited the audio before uploading it. I had a similar experience with a different MV once. It was a sad song and sad MV, but not the first time I watched sad MV or listened to sad songs. When they started to sing and maybe a couple of bars after, I had to pause it. Later I found that there was a sad story behind it, but the MV itself has no direct reference to it. Nevertheless, I have never felt that strongly while watching MV before. I guess what I am trying to say is that I think I understand what and how you feel. If by any chance you come across that MV in the future, I will tell you about it. ^^ Another song which I was deeply moved, but not necessarily in a depressingly sad manner, has some high chance that you will react to. I will tell you about that as well when you get there. Hope you are feeling better and thank you for your reaction!
