Why so Serious -Jonghyun was in a car accident during this time and couldn't participate in MV and promotions so they recorded the song again with Taemin covering most of Jonghyun's parts including the difficult notes. I suggest watching the live from SWC5, with them complete, it also has a dance break. So so good! Everybody -you definitely.. definitely need to see the live from Tokyo Dome. You'll love it.

The boys train by running while singing to improve there ability to be able to perform concert. They sing live while dancing for hours at a concert can you imagine being able to do that. I was so impressed when I heard that. Shinee is an amazing group of talent. Thank you and I can't wait for more shinee.

ahh, I think you'll really enjoy the Misconceptions of Us album. :) like everyone said, the Why So Serious? mv was actually way back then but Jonghyun couldn't participate bc of an accident - the studio version & subsequent performances all include him. I love how Taemin comes in on that song! Everybody is my absolute favourite choreo from SHINee - on your own time you should watch the dance practice & any of the live performances (especially Tokyo Dome) sometime bc it is MINDBLOWING. the vocals being even better in live while they're doing all those jumps? amazing. seriously, the last bridge with Jonghyun + that final chorus where they individually hit those high notes are all there in the live performances. I love that SHINee Mondays are a thing now! good to see that the upcoming comeback (I don't think it's end of this year, Taemin hinted that it would be by the end of winter - it's way too hectic since Minho only just returned on the 15th) is so well-timed for you to get more into them. :)

Nobody does it like SHINee aka the Kings of liver performances. You’re right, their live stages for these two songs are epic (Search for WSS with Jonghyun and Everybody Tokyo Dome). I really can’t wait for their comeback. They’ve already been super chaotic upon returning (you can watch the video on SHINee’s youtube).

SHINee is one of those groups who really are larger than life, their stage presence and performance energy is through the roof, I've been a Shawol since 2013 (Dream Girl era) and I keep being surprised at their performances, there are so many good live stages, can't wait to see your reactions! :)

These two songs had some mixed feedback when they came out but I personally loved that SHINee experimented with the showy "musical"-esque style in Why So Serious & their take on dubstep with Everybody. Even though the song styles aren't everyone's tastes, you can't say SHINee doesn't do an amazing job with execution 😍😍

Shinee's BACK! This made my day! You can see a clip on Shinee's channel of the members coming to Taemin's promotions (Eng sub available) and it shows Minho coming and reuniting with them (he came straight from the army base). It was so good to see them back together...and they were instantly ripping each other apart like usual. haha I can't wait for more Shinee content!

SHINee's "Why So Serious?" came out in 2013 (The first time they promote as a group without Jonghyun will be in 2018 during their 10th anniversary comeback). However, right before they were to start promotions for "Why So Serious?", Jonghyun was in a car accident and he broke his nose. His face was all bruised up. So SM decided it would be better for him to take some time to heal. But instead of postponing their promotion schedule, including the already planned MV shoot -- which would have cost them a lot of money to do so, among other things -- SM decided to shoot the MV with only 4 members. So, in the MV Taemin covers Jonghyun's parts, including his lines in the song -- just like Taemin now covers most of the parts that probably would have been Jonghyun's in all of their new songs, such as the main high notes -- but if you hear the studio recording from their album you will hear that Jonghyun's is part of the oficial track. It was a few weeks into their promotions before Jonghyun was back to promoting this song, but he is included in the last week of their live comeback performances and he is part of any of their concert performances of this song. Fun fact: The choreography for this song is actually known as the zombie dance. And the song is a sort of zombie love story -- about being brought back to life by love. In "Everybody" SHINee are supposed to be toy soldiers and they get their energy and power from the fans. So in the MV the "creepy" boy or robot, or whatever you want to call him is supposed to represent the fans who are using their energy to power the SHINee members up. The boy plugs in the power which sends the electricity to the grid on the floor where the members are laying and it activates Minho, and he then proceeds to activate the rest of the members. All the moves and everything you see, including the way they are dressed, is supposed to remind you of how a toy soldier would look and move. Their fans power them up and that's why in the beginning they wake up from the floor and in the end they run out of energy and they disengage and fall back down to the floor to wait for the fans to come and power them back up again. In the middle of the performance, where they come together and create that picture in their dance, they are supposed to look like an airplane, that's why Onew spins his arms round really fast like the propeller of a plane. The plane has to do with the fact that they are soldiers and they are depicting a scene from a battle during the Korean War. This is one of SHINee's most iconic dance practices. Fun fact: Everytime they performed this song as part of a comeback stage performance their military-style outfits were a different color. They even had an aqua blue version that was the same color as their fan color. SHINee's comeback stage outfits are some of my favorite of any Kpop group, and they are different every time they perform, but they always stick to the theme of the song or album so it's fun to see every one of their performances just to see what their outfits look like each time. In your free time look up some comeback stage performances and see what I mean. "Married to the Music", "Dream Girl" and "Everybody" were some of my favorite eras.

Jonghyun mentored Taemin as a vocalist when others wanted to pigeonhole him as just a very talented dancer. I believe that's why the producers were so willing to let Taemin who wasn't known for being a vocalist step in for Jonghyun during his accident. When ypu get to the lives plz watch Odd Eye it's so good. Jonghyun wrote pretty boy for Taemin as a solo artist and his bff Kai from EXO jumped on it as duet. It's worth it to watch two legendary friends perform together earlier in their careers.

As others have said, Jonghyun was in a car accident and couldn't participate in this MV. This is the start of SM recognizing all the hard work and effort Taemin had put into training his vocals and started really giving him a lot more lines. In fact, SM trusted Taemin enough to sing Jonghyun's parts while Jonghyun was recuperating. The following year, 2014, Taemin debuted as the first-ever SM male soloist from an active SM boy group. As you can hear, Taemin's vocals are particularly suited for Rock songs. This is one of their experimental songs that people either hate or love. I LOVE it! This is one of their songs that is even better when they sing it live, especially when Jonghyun is with them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6CYfouErM6iipY INSANE VOCALS & HARMONIES! Like "Why So Serious", "Everybody" debuted in 2013 and had SHINee being the catalyst for yet another turning point in the Kpop industry. They successfully introduced dubstep to Kpop for the first time. Not only that, but this was considered by the industry to be the most difficult choreo of that time period due to the mixed dance styles and quicksilver transitions. SHINee admitted that it was their hardest song to perform while singing -- and yes, they sang this live while performing it -- because they could easily get out of breath. However, they managed to do it flawlessly. For this reason, they won several awards for it including capturing the 2013 Daesang award at the Melon Music Awards.
