SHINee in their whole career got 1 daesang only "which is weird because every song that they released in Korea became a hit" but award shows depend on big fandoms mostly and SHINee fandom is not that big compared to "EXO , BigBang , Bts" so the only award show that gave SHINee a daesang without a fandom power or push and just because SHINee really deserved it was melon awards. After 6 years they got their 1st daesang with Everybody and they were shook and the members cried their eyes out even Exo members cried. U should watch that speech it was amazing. There was a time when SHINee recorded “Everybody” for a live performance. They were really singing while doing a hard choreo! The staffs backstage and at the studio were really shocked because they still had clear and good voices while performing it! LEGENDS!!!

Fans often say that'Everybody' is a song created by SM to show off SHINee. SHINee has become famous as a group performing the most high-quality and difficult live performances through the era of'Lucifer' and'Sherlock'. 'Everybody' is a performance that culminates in that image. SM is telling everyone, "If you can do it like SHINee, do it." Personally, I like SHINee in various forms, but I also like strong songs that pour everything out like this. They can do anything. I keep watching your video. Thank you.

In "Everybody" SHINee are supposed to be toy soldiers and they get their energy and power from the fans. So in the MV the "creepy" boy or robot, or whatever you want to call him is supposed to represent the fans who are using their energy to power the SHINee members up. The boy plugs in the power which sends the electricity to the grid on the floor where the members are laying and it activates Key, which then sets off a chain reaction that proceeds to activate the rest of the members. All the moves and everything you see, including the way they are dressed, is supposed to remind you of how a toy soldier would look and move. Their fans power them up and that's why in the beginning they wake up from the floor and in the end they run out of energy and they disengage and fall back down to the floor to wait for the fans to come and power them back up again. In the middle of the performance, where they come together and create that picture in their dance, they are supposed to look like an airplane, that's why Onew spins his arms round really fast like the propeller of a plane. The plane has to do with the fact that they are soldiers and they are depicting a scene from a battle during the Korean War. And the chess board is showing how they are soldiers engaged in battle as they advance across the chess board. It's a metaphor for how life is full of a series of moves and countermoves. Similar to the scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets where Harry, Ron and Hermione have to play the lifesize wizards chess game to get to the Chamber of Secrets. Yet again, SHINee are trendsetters, Dubstep was a new style of music and sound when "Everybody" came out in 2013, and they introduced the genera to the Kpop industry. And combining that with popping, locking and robotics as part of the choreography was also new. And yes, 4 out of the 5 of them have major high notes in "Everybody." Make sure you click on the CC button so you can understand what they are saying at the beginning of the practice. This is one of SHINee's most iconic dance practices. You should also see SHINee perform "Everybody" Live in concert. SHINee are known for their live stages and amazing vocals and dancing. There is nothing better than SHINee live. When it comes to SHINee, even if you aren't crazy about the song after seeing the MV, once you see and hear it performed live, they always make you fall in love with the song. SHINee live are unmatched. Fun fact: Everytime they performed this song as part of a comeback stage performance their military-style outfits were a different color. They even had an aqua blue version that was the same color as their fan color. SHINee's comeback stage outfits are some of my favorite of any Kpop group, and they are different every time they perform, but they always stick to the theme of the song or album so it's fun to see every one of their performances just to see what their outfits look like each time. In your free time look up some comeback stage performances and see what I mean. "Married to the Music", "Dream Girl" and "Everybody" were some of my favorite eras.

Ah yeah. 2013. The year SHINee just DIDN'T STOP (& as a result won the Artist of the Year Award at the end of the year, totally deserved i might add, and delivered the most genuine and emotional acceptance "speech" I have ever seen any person or group do ever & i am not even being biased here... oh and exo is also in that video. Anyways... 2013... 2 full length Korean albums (both promoted) 1 repackage that combined both (unpromoted) 1 Korean mini album (promoted) 3 Japanese singles 1 of which came with a full length Japanese album And to top it all off a 15 concert Japanese Arena Tour To this day I am convinced they didn't sleep that year.

I can't believe they performed Everybody more than 2 hours after the concert began. It's such an intensive song and people usually choose to perform in the beginning. They needed to hit high notes while jumping. I wasn't into the song, but I got hooked by the performance. They choreo is so good. They are your toy soldiers.

Yes! These songs are so good performed live. I suggest the following: - Why So Serious from SHINee World 5 - Everybody from Tokyo Dome (I'm Your Boy Concert) Since Jonghyun was in a car accident and couldn't join the Why So Serious mv and the promotion shows, Taemin actually covered for his parts including those high notes, and personally I guess this is one time Taemin was really able to show off more of his vocals (coming from someone who was said to have weak vocals). Even so, in an interview Taemin said if given a chance he would want to redo this mv as he wanted all 5 of them to be there. It was so different with Jonghyun's voice there so I hope you can see the live from SWC5. Everybody introduced dubstep into kpop - another first by SHINee. They also said this was one of their most difficult choreo that they compare it to Don't Call Me. And they did 2x fast speed of this dance in Weekly Idol (they also did 2x fast dance of Sherlock). It's fun to watch if you'd like to see something different.

Live is sooooo much fun! Why so serious is a party, its organised chaos, cheeky and playful. Everybody is like holding your breath and screaming at the same time. The live of Everybody also involved a big amount of fanchats, shinee really invites shawols to "wake up" it's amazing. I have never seen so much energy on stage as by Everybody. As for the rock, well its not so shocking. We already used to it because of the rock remixes of ring ding dong and lucifer. Also sm was very rock oriented back in the day. Plus at this point we can be surprised at shinee for nibbling at all genres ;) Thank you for continuing supporting shinee~

Why So Serious and Everybody were truly made for live stages!! Over time I find that Why So Serious is an even more hype song for me personally. Interestingly Taemin mentioned in a recent vlive that their Don't Call Me choreo is tougher than Everybody - which is true as the moves on DCM were faster (more of half and single counts) and more intricate whilst everything in Everybody was about huge moves which was exhausting lol

Everybody comeback is a big reminder to everyone why SHINee is top notch when it comes to male dance group performance just like in Lucifer and Sherlock. "Why So Serious?" was my first official SHINee comeback, and it has a special place in my heart, all the looks killed my emo, alternative rock ass. The album for this track has beautiful songs and I totally recommend that you check it out, the songs are all epic to watch when they performed them live. "Everybody" is a bop and gets stuck in your head, loved the military themed looks here and the Thom Browne outfits seen on the teaser photos were everything! SHINee is versatile and a trendsetter whether fashion or music, they lead the way. This mini album too is one of my favorites, so many vocal gems! The ballads!!!! I love Why so serious because I am a fan of FT island so when this came out I wanted them to sing it with FT island since they were so close but it didn't happen or it hasn't happened yet. The Misconceptions of us is to me one of the best albums ever. Everybody on the other hand is just amazing, I love Shinee and these songs are another reason to love them.

Everybody was the first SHINee song I ever saw live - at SMTown Tokyo in 2014, where they performed it on an outdoor stage in the MIDDLE OF A TYPHOON. If you manage to find a video, I highly recommend watching it - after seeing that live, there was no escape from SHINee!

Honestly, when I first listened to WSS, I was like wtf is this?! Lmao, but it gets better when you listened more to it and it definitely gets far better when you watched the live stages, those explosive vocals. And WSS comeback with Misconception of Me album is my fav SHINee album. All SHINee albums are amazing and it's tough to select a top choice but this MoM is a win! All the songs in the album are just wow! Though for now, DCM album is definitely on par with MoM album as my very top fav album. Thank you so much for your honest reaction, Sir Austin!
