Thank God! So good to hear someone else say this! It took me a good portion of my adult life to get over other people needing me to drink, because it's "what adults do" when they go out. And if you don't drink, it HAS to be some traggic story of alcohol abuse forcing abstaining from alcohol on you. Can't you just not like it? People are also always convinced you just haven't had the right magical drink. And they have the cure for making you like alcoholic beverages.

Born in Texas to an Air Force cook and Mexican-born wife, I've been here except for 7 years of my life. Shiner is a blessing to beer drinkers, lol. Strawberry Blonde, Prickly Pear, Bock and Ruby Redbird are my favorites. Texas, not just a state, but a state of mind couldn't be more true. Natives are a weird mish-mash of all the great ethnic cultures found in our backyards. German, Mexican, Asian, Black, Native influences are found in our food, our music, our worship, our lives. We're a proud and friendly people for the most part. I hope your New Jersey soul wasn't too tortured by the eclectic blend of the Lone Star State.

I don't drink beer, but my wife does, and loves Shiner Bock, so there ya go. When we travel I always try to find a brewery of some sort and if there are free samples, she gets two (hers and mine)! I keep her happy... she tolerates my desire for an RV! What can I say... I'm the luckiest man alive! We're going on 30 years now and I'm surprising her with a brewery tour if I can swing it (well, that and 30 gifts for our 30 years). Thank you kindly for your videos, and glad you're lovin' Texas!

I feel ya on the whole drinking thing, I too get a lot of pressure from friends who will insist that I "throwback" a few bottles with them. Frankly, I believe that perhaps they feel a little self-conscious and that I am somehow judging them, which of course......I am.....just kidding, I do not pass judgment on anyone and what they choose to do.

Welcome to Texas! If you don't dawdle, you can still catch the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes in the central area. But don't rush; kick your shoes off and linger a while. There are lots of great little towns to explore. And there is nothing like Blue Bell ice cream, made in Brenham. Enjoy your visit!

33 years w/o, only drank on two occasions when I was alone or with somebody. Used to drink for the effect thats it! I LIKED IT! but not to worry, my dogs' name ain't SOBER,or GUINNESS and so far never lied to myself bout drinkin just don't have it in life as a need anymore.Most of the future Mrs. X's I date don't drink either, so I save a lot of money on goin out! (hahahahahaha)pretty much none existent. I'm really cheap, so a night under the stars is take out to the outside tables for a bacon-burger at White Castle New Yawk style. Love you style meisje!

I normally watch you on my phone but today I had an opportunity to watch you on a flat screen and I have to say your eyes are so blue. shiner is a very cool little town but be sure to go by Fredericksburg and stopping to look in Bach and that is definitely the German influence those towns were founded by German immigrants that came to Texas many and covered wagons dragging things and it's quite amazing the stories of all those towns

Always nice to get a fresh outside perspective. I've lived in Texas for so long I'm basically a local now. Drove straight through Shiner earlier this year on my way home toward Houston without ever realizing it. It's THAT small! Love their beer and the beer of other local breweries as well. The Southern Star Brewing Co, Karbach, and St. Arnolds are other makers worth checking out, though I have no idea whether they offer tours.

Places you must visit in that general direction; Austin, Santa Fe, Grand Canyon, Vegas then depending on which way you could either go, Colorado Springs, Idaho Falls, Boise, Seattle, Portland, Mt Shasta or Venice, Malibu, Hollywood, San Francisco, Sacramento, Mt Shasta Portland, Seattle. HA that place is HUGE compared to where I live. Midvale, Idaho 160 people and it is a block off the highway so you do drive right past it. To me a good thing. LOL If you ever get this way look me up. I am close to Hells Canyon Idaho a scenic destination. Not to mention I am a crazy mosaic artist and the inside of my house is pretty scenic. Been binge watching your videos.
