I mean, there were parts of gameplay from other games(sf1) mixed in while you were talking about Gaiden, it got kind of confusing.

you should play the US version of Gaiden 2, it's a lot more challenging and proves that SRPGs don't need permadeath to be challenging. It's the kind of game I would love Fire Emblem to become(seriously, the most annoying thing an FE player can say is that Casual Mode drains all of the challenge from the game, if you prefer Classic that's fine, but the challenge is still there on Casual.).

shining force 2 gaiden final conflict the 3rd game in the series is my favorite. But those first 2 are great as well.

I think the issue with audio delay on SFCD is with the emulator. It doesn't do that on original hardware or the Mega Drive Mini 2.

Ironically I tested two rom files for the game. One file played the music almost immediately, but the voice files during the introduction were out of sync. The other file had every audio file delayed but the introduction was properly synced. Since I don't have original hardware, and knowing what I know about file loading, I made my best assumption.

I had SoH back in the day and it was great. Unfortunately my cart was super sensitive and would erase my save frequently. Very annoying. So I replayed the first 5 battles very often. I do think I was able to beat it once.

The game doesn't have a translation because there is a superior version of it, called SHinning Force CD, so there is really no reason to translate these games really, unless you want it for novelty purposes
