• 【4K】Tokyo's extremely ...
Shinjuku (新宿) is one of the 23 city wards of Tokyo, but the name commonly refers to just the large entertainment, business and shopping area around Shinjuku Station.
Shinjuku Station is the world's busiest railway station, handling more than two million passengers every day. It is served by about a dozen railway and subway lines, including the JR Yamanote Line. Shinjuku is also one of Tokyo's major stops for long-distance highway buses. A large bus terminal, named Busta Shinjuku, is conveniently located on top of the railway station.
Golden Gai is said to have started around 1950 when the black market that had arisen in front of Shinjuku Station moved and, in this new area, a number of eating and drinking establishments set up shop. Although Shinjuku has undergone considerable modernization since then, Golden Gai seems to have remained largely unchanged.

I’m glad Japan & Korea didn’t follow the Western dressing style trend. I was like ‘meh’ when I went back to college where women wear Birkinstock sandals? I wear a trendy oversized blazer and I’m being look at in a good way.

You gave us a good look at a couple of restaurants where my husband and I have enjoyed a meal in Omoide Yokocho! I guess Shinjuku reality speak, is just as down to earth as any other city district in the world. The small quaint resto-bars along its narrow alleys are really an eyeopener for me about real life in Tokyo from the ground, especially that it resembled the resto-bars we have in Manila, especially along the tourist district of Ermita. Only this one is tighter in terms of space. The reminders posted on the alleys are also eye-catchers in itself. A picture of a well-secured community, knowing the area serves free flowing alcohol alongside food.
