Oh man. Getting free can almost mean throwing a lifetime of work in the trash. Let's not give advice to this guy when we don't know his situation. A female narcissist knows what they're doing. There is financial concerns. Family and friends. A narcissist can strip you of almost everything you value and even then keep you tied up supporting them. Paying for them. This is a serious mental illness that manipulates societies.

I am going through this right now with someone i have known for 60 years. I wish i knew about this subject earlier. This friend and foster cousin (I was the foster child) is a narcissist and has schizophrenia. I am a sigma male and i am walking away from this friendship after sixty years. But thank you for your knowledge because with knowledge i can act.

True. The narcissist, after leaving me after 9 years for another, told me to remain friends but the relationship was toxic, he behaved very badly with me. I told him that we will not remain friends. I am happy now. I had a year of peace after the breakup.

1st narcissist sent me into a 3 year depression where I tried to figure out what happened. I always wondered what she was thinking and how she could do it. Ironically another Narcissist saw me in despair and rescued me with the first stage of love and perfection. Luckily i had started studying their tendencies. I t seamed as if i could read the next days playbook today. She got me out of my depression like noone else could. I held on as long as I could to try and help her. Unfortunately i had to let go before she drug me back down to where she found me. I wish she could be happy. I explained it to her the best I could. Not talking to her is the best thing i can explain it now. 😢

You fell in love with the false image of a person. They were not who you thought they were. It hurts to realize that all that time was more or less wasted. Learn your lessons from it at the very least, never give up and live YOUR OWN life.

I know exactly how you feel and what your saying. Sucks even though we all know that it's them and we tried 100 and then some. Knowing that we could do nothing more knowing they lie cheat hurt manipulative and all yet it still hurts deeply it's the craziest thing that I've ever been through and the hardest thing I've been through

My narcissistic mother whether intentional or not emotionally abused me my entire life. It appeared that she enjoyed my suffering or at least had no empathy for it and seemed to be setting traps for me to fail. Through all that I felt she still loved me because after all how could someone not love someone they birthed? My mother would literally hold conversations with herself which I now realize was a sign of mental illness. One day I walked in on her having a conversation to herself about me and it was so vile with such disgust that she was effectively dead to me from then on . All that angst and vitriol she displayed toward me was real. The day she died I went to the hospital and a family member informed me that she had passed. They expected me to have an emotional break down. I just said oh ok.

All this is so trrue🙂 in my experience 4 years with a covert pervert narcissist I came to the conclusion that they might also be somehow "crazy" at least they do not always have the average level of understanding of situations

I could probably “take all this” as one would say. But a very important man in my life said “John, you can do amazingly well at times. I think you can do that well all the time”. Anoushka I don’t care about what my narcissist ex husband of 32 years think about me, and his smear campaign against me 2 years after separation/divorce is that I am married to the man I cheated with him with. I don’t care about his smear campaign because it is not trie anyway and the people who know me know that I am single and a person of respectable character. What I cannot accept is that the narcissist is stalking me and when he sees a man outside my house the smear campaign is that a man is living with me and ai have remarried, he sees a car outside my house the smear campaign is my alleged new husband is gone and I have a new lover. He tells people I’m a slut and I don’t care, but I care about the fact that he is stalking my house!!! It is a disturbance of my peace and my privacy! The Police are not helping me. I’m too scared to step out of the house knowing that he is watching me. Please help, I can’t live like this.

I think maybe a select few, but most would not. The select few, self-aware would, although I think they would take pride in what they are; there would be no feelings of remorse in them. Just my thoughts on it though.

No. Because they are built and wired not to admit that they are the problem. It will always be you. Most narcissists go as far as manipulating a therapist, even if you can manage to talk them into going.
