Great review! I personally can’t wait to get my copy of this figure, although I do agree with the fact that some of the paint is a bit bland, but it doesn’t break it for me. My favorite part besides the UV pint has the be the eyes on this one.

Hiya is killin' it with recent releases. Got my exquisite basics Godzilla 91 Hokkaido pre-ordered and hoping to do the same with the upcoming King Ghidorah. Hope they go all-out and give us Mecha King G in the near future to complete the set.

Like your reviews. This one is actually really helpful - I was thinking about getting either Hiya's first version of Rodan or Flameborn. I like figures that are accurate to their movie apperance but still pop on my shelf, so knowing Flamdborn is a bit duller without a blacklight is great to know!

Kinda wish it came with SHMA style cradle adaptor. I prefer that over the claw. Ghidorah having it kinda gave me hope that they'll give Rodan one too. But hey, this UV paint looks awesome. Sure hope they could implements Hot Wheels's color changing gimmick on Goji. Imagine a 2-in-1 Goji that could turn into the atomic breath variant by simply spray it with warm water

This is actually an amazing release, just like what hiya did before as always. I'll be getting the 91 KG as my next Hiya figure (and the second Hiya figure after the MV KG). I hope that I can at least get each one of the MV figures and that Hokkaido ver. Gido-Goji

Lmao Yeah they’ve kept it pretty consistent in making remolds and repaints quite fun to nab. Especially with Emerald Titan Mothra being translucent and this being reactive to black light. Hoping they can keep this good streak up!

I love Rodan and he’s my favorite kaiju of all time but I really can’t understand why hiya makes second versions for literally every figure. Godzilla 1991 isn’t even out yet and he has another version. Why can’t they just rerelease their figures like normal companies?

I guess It's a variation standpoint, while the argument that Bandai does the exact same thing is valid... they do wait lol I don't think this variant was initially needed, but when it comes to Hokkaido Goji you can either do one or the other and it just kinda works out for preference sake. Other than that, I have no idea why other than 'because they can'

Any idea why Hiya decided to do this black light gimmick for this and the upcoming Super Charged Godzilla figure instead of just a simple glow in the dark gimmick instead? You know, just subject the figure to your normal room lights or sunlight and it glows in the dark without having to go out and buy special black lights?

Glow In the dark plastic degrades over time, I can't imagine they'd want to attempt a majorly articulated figure In such a material. As for why Glow In The Dark Paint wasn't used... that's what I'm wondering. As it essentially works the same just with standard light. Unless there's a longevity issue with it's 'charge'. UV reactant paint may have just been the best option to go with on a business end.

It depends on what you like and want more of. This one has the black light gimmick. The original has more of a vibrant paint job. But this one has the better stand, by a mile.

Definitely prefer this to the original & this is coming from some1 who prefer the S.H. MonsterArts Rodan (2019) overall. The original paintjob looked very ugly, muddy, sloppy & splotchy-lookin' to me. Wasn't a fan, personally. This looks a hell of alot nicer to me. I MAY consider picking this guy up... even if I still am iffy on the wire in his wings. I had the Revoltech Rodan (1956), he had wires in his wings & 1 of em snapped... so yea. But maybe this figure's stronger than that figure was, I dunno.

I feel you on the bendy wire arms, it’s a gamble. But so far, personally, both Rodan and Skull Crawler have held up pretty well. But again, I understand the hesitance. After getting this one in, I can’t disagree lol it was a bit on the messy side. If they do another, hopefully it’ll neater like this one!
