Every anime: New opening every 12 episodes should do. Monogatari series: We can afford new opening every arc. Hunter x Hunter: One opening should be enough for 147 episodes. Shinsekai Yori: LOL fuck the opening!

'Digibro was being super against everything A1 dropping it' that's sad to hear some say that the quality of A1 's work depend on the main director. Although sometimes they threw out unfinished shitty animation but sometimes they make really great ones.
@jackiechen96807 жыл бұрын
I think there is 2 types of ppl: sb who can't bear ppl talk shit about the show they love or sb who can't bear ppl praise shitty show as masterpiece. I am the second type and i actually does not mind a whole lot when ppl talk shit about the show i love. I personally think that shows should be judged only if all episodes were watched. (although i sometime break this rule) And about Digibro's comment on this show, I have seen him changed opinions on a show before after finishing it or rewatching it. Also, he can actually bear the poor CG and kids-show-like-feelings of Kemono friends and find the beauty and uniqueness of the show. My feeling is that some day he will look back at the show and give it another chance (which of coz is most likely he changed his opinion on A1) But then, just like even i (or u) dont agree with digibro on this matter does not mean that all his opinions are worthless to me. I actually changed my stubborn thought a few times thanks to him.
@jackiechen96807 жыл бұрын
sometimes ppl do that. I thought the Monogatari series was just made of waifu and fan-services. I hated the 1st episode and thought it was weird and awful. But many years after, I rewatch it and found it to be one of my favorite anime that I finished all the seasons nonstop, bought the light novel, and search for nearly all the shaft works and most of shinbo's work and his apprentice's work. the point i want to make is that sometimes this type of things happen. The difference is that whether is the person open-minded enough that one day he will change his stubborn biased opinion. And i think Digibro is this type of person. You may even take this opportunity to reflect yrself whether u have done this too and revisit some shows that u hated but other people (that you trust his taste) think that they are good.
@KlausWulfenbach7 жыл бұрын
"The human race is horrible... This entire story is one that could happen eventually in real life." IMHO the real horror of Shinsekai Yori is that it absolutely has happened in real life hundreds of times. Think: people with psychic powers = people with lots of money, or political power, or any other class distinction. Think: people in "higher" classes seeing those in "lower" classes as less human. Think: if morality itself is considered entirely dependent on what is socially acceptable, why wouldn't social conformity be more valuable than individuals' lives? What's more: if there's a whole group of social outcasts who cannot conform, why would any of their lives ever have any value at all? The insidious, creeping, slow, calm acceptance and perpetuation of "how things need to be" despite the things done in the name of "how things need to be" being rather nasty... But then, to be fair, if the only alternative is anarchy and violent death on a mass scale, perhaps a society that murders children for cheating at sports (as just one example) is the lesser of the evils? But still, indeed, horrifically evil. The whole thing is an allegory. The creators were certainly thinking of Japanese society in particular, but I can also see parallels in other societies. I'll avoid stating the specific application I see in our "modern" "Western" society to avoid a flame war, but the lessons absolutely apply to the real world. Is conformity to an ideal more important than human life? Indeed, some people think so. EDIT: To be clear: I absolutely think that human life is more important than social conformity. I'm not trying to troll anyone here. I'm just pointing out that when social conformity is considered more important than human life, you get a situation like Shinsekai Yori, and that it's not just a hypothetical, and that it's not just about Japan.
@mikuhatsunegoshujin6 жыл бұрын
Florian Geyer did nothing wrong, the elimination of the Aristocrats are a necessary objective for progressing into the next Society. Spartacus also did nothing wrong, same reason as before. Progression from a slave society to a Serf society tends to be more violent than from a serf society to a bourgeois one, if that calms your fears about the possible elimination of the current state of affairs.

Did you watch the anime? The social conformity was important, because even before ”the death of shame” people could kill eachother in mass just by a quick glance- they needed total control so that everyone had the death of shame, and was good at handling conflict- or they had to be culled. Its like everyone is carrying an atom bomb in their pocket.
@LC-sc3en2 жыл бұрын
@@Greggah this is true. But science fiction often takes things to their extreme to make people think deeply on their humanity and society. Many nations to this day exist in relative wealth and prosperity only due to the historical genocide, explotation, and dehuminization of other people. These same societies can and do casually call down war upon entire nations of others (often less fortunate) in the name of "security" or "preserving their way of life". While the majority of their citizens (at least in the beginning of war) run the spectrum from casually unconcerned to, sad but accepting as necessary, to gleeful about killing hundreds of thousands of others due to fear. Fear isn't always rational and not enough people can question the leadership selling fear and claiming that it can only be solved by violence and control. So think about it, if this series made you wonder if it was worth it, or if the humans are monstrous even when a lot of their fears are legitimately real and society would fall apart without these atrocities... what does that say about much of humanity now? Many of our wealthiest societies maintain their lifestyle through a general inhumanity to man. From the death and war funded to sell you an iPhone to the child slavery to bring you cheap chocolate. Many are unaware, uncaring, or unable to break from the system because they lack the power, means, or simply cannot envision another way. Children are the most likely to question and even then, like in the anime it is rare, they would probably rather not know, and end up stuck using the same system as their parents. I lived through it, I got born in the Omelas state. But some 400,000 civilians men, woman, and children did not and were killed within a two years while my neighbors called for blood out of fear. Some of the people captured at the beginning were tortured for years and held decades more without trials many of them simply because no one would take them on. In another parallel you can also look at the reasoning given for looking down on monster rats and keeping them separate while brutally crushing any organized attempts to break out of "their place" as a threat to the way of life. And those who step out of their assumed places are subject to increased scrutiny, which sometimes leads to torture, imprisonment (which often includes torture as well), or execution. Which will go without punishment justified on the fear of the killer.

The show is amazing but sadly I dont think you did it justice. This anime is not about showcasing the bads of humanity but teaching the importance of keeping both sides of an argument in mind. Adults aren't awful, they had their reasons for disallowing misbehaved children to develop, molerats weren't mean, they simply needed freedom. You cannot make judgements like "humans are awful" or "molerats are scum", since as the main antagonist of the show said, you can't know what would have happened if the tables were turnt.
@Feds_the_Freds7 жыл бұрын
well, as he said, there are many different interpretations, so if u like urs more, ok, but he just had a different one. But I still had the same interpretation like u, humans aren't bad, the show wasn't really about good or bad, it just showed, how we would react to a situation like this. A bit like the theory, that we are a product of the environement and the genes and it showed how important the circumstances of the environement can be.
@AIWARAS6197 жыл бұрын
In my eyes the complete degeneration of human society(I am sure some would disagree and find it even reasonable, but in my eyes it's almost worse than out right Mad Max'ing it) is a cautionary tale of what happens when you use only pure intelligence to decide everything in hard situation and kill your heart completely as a society, turning it into something that is so tightly controlled and stagnant it is a question why should it even be allowed to continue it's existence at all. Think about it, it is literally the equivalent of a scenario when the government decides to kill all the poor and sick to solve the issues of overpopulation and overconsumption the moment all cheep manual labor is automated as well as killing everyone that does not agree with that.
@AIWARAS6197 жыл бұрын
If the genetic tampering, hypnosis and extreme indoctrination, not to talk about continues murder of children where temporary measures to figure things out and move on then maybe you would be right, but the society more or less is stuck in an evolutionary dead end worth of a horror story and is still on decline despite the measures. I honestly think that the scientist taking over and trying to drive humanity in their chosen destination was a mistake that doomed humanity for good. A race that can create life and even manipulate their own DNA in real time literally degraded to a pint where there is an episode where they discus the problem of actually getting working electricity in some parts of the settlement is a joke
@exchangediary9687 жыл бұрын

Suffering, this is a good point and something I felt too. No one is a 'baddie' doing bad things just 'because'. You can absolutely appreciate every point of view. It makes it a great tragedy: you see how in trying to do the best they can, the situation itself compels people to do terrible things. It all makes sense from each person's point of view.

You should definitely watch gintama and review it. Its 329 episodes and it takes about 20 episodes to get into but its definitely worth it. The comedy will have u crying and the suspense and action will have you on the edge of your seat. Its shounen however its a very unique shounen. As one of my favorite anime of all time i highly recommend you watch it

I've never been so happy to see this on show up on screen. This show, and Your Lie In April were the two shows that I've been waiting for reviews for a long time, and you've done both. All those review week of awesome votes, only to not make the list because of crappy shows making them. I'm glad that you watched one of favorite anime. Now I'm waiting for Snafu Too.

One thing I love about this show is that everything that humanity does, and everything the mole rats do, brings the question of who is in the right and who is in the wrong? And ultimately is there a bad guy or good guy.

For people coming here in 2019 looking for something similar then sorry to disappoint but there still isn't anything quite like this show. BUT. Two things come pretty close now in some way. The anime "The Promised Neverland" does some things that are pretty similar to the feelings you get from Shin Seki Yori. The horror parts are almost the same. If you want a game that can give you a similar empty feel then try Nier: Automata.
@charlestrudel83084 жыл бұрын
even then, nier automata is way more nihilist than shin sekai yori lol...

@despression man its a slow burn anime but by the end of it you will be in love with it while whispering "this animes so fucked man" over and over. and dont take the term "slow burn" the wrong way, at no point is it boring, it just takes you for a long, steady ride up to a climax that took years in the anime to fester
@elie21336 жыл бұрын
RedShiftJellyfish everybody has different tastes, and different opinions. That's why it's basicaly impossible to please everyone with an anime. I understand that you love it and wanna share this experience, same for me and my favourites animes(well any anime that i enjoyed) but for even the most praised animes of all times, not everybody liked it. Also, the idea of "waiting" because it "gets good later" doesn't make sense to me, because I, like most people, don't have much time, and even if I did I don't need 10 episodes to know if I'm gonna like an anime or not. And if I do(ex: HxH, monster) it was because I was unsure until then wether to drop or not. The anime in itself looked kinda interesting but as I said I was bored throughout the whole 3 first episode, and I hated the characters because they were obnoxious. Not to mention the fact that I had no idea what was going on.
@RogueCowTurd6 жыл бұрын
sounds like youre trying to set yourself up for dissatisfaction man, 90% of the comments in this video are of people who love the show, you have one person who didnt 100% like it and all of a sudden their opinion holds more weight and you want to know about it? obviously you cant please everyone but if the vast majority of people love the anime and you gloss over them to find someone who didnt enjoy it as much youre just Poisoning the Well for yourself never said you have to wait for it to get good, all of it is great, like arkada said, it uses every second of its run time to tell you things and everything it tells you is important. the themes and ideas are complex and thought provoking so it takes time to dive into those themes but never takes unnessary amounts of time focusing on one thing because it has other things to tell you again, dont take the term "slow burn" the wrong way, at no point is it boring, it just takes you for a long, steady ride up to a climax that took years in the anime to fester. each arc as a climax but the final one has far more weight than the rest but each are incredibly fucked up in its own respect. just watch the first few episodes at least, it will dip your toes into what type of twisted society the anime has created and its enough for you to make up your own mind whether or not youre going to enjoy more

You kinda spoiled the post apocalypse thing. At least to me the fact that they were living in a post apocalypse wasn't very clear in the first couple episodes.
@dae_carca7 жыл бұрын
Wait........the post apocalypse thing was supposed to be a mystery? The show literally spelled it out in like the 4th episode that psychic powers caused civilization to collapse. That plus constantly mentioning 1000 years in the future made it seem to me that it was pretty clear this was post apocalyptic future
@Deo4997 жыл бұрын
Mobashshir Jawaid Yeah in the 4th episode. It wasn't the first thing they told us. I assumed at first it could've just been some fantasy world.

WOWW it's so cool you actually made this review! What can I love more but a fantastical setting, but with such realistic and interconnected plot and character behaviour. I marathoned this show in a day a few years back. I remember mostly everything, but the ending. how'd it end?
@joaosoares25707 жыл бұрын
*SPOILER* They managed to kill the fiend (it wasnt actually a true fiend, she just believed she was a queerat tho she could kill humans without activating death feedback) and in the end we find out that queerats were actually humans without cantus. Since they were humans the ones with cantus could not touch them cuz of death feedback but the "normal" humans could kill humans with cantus because they didnt have death feedback, and so the humans with cantus modified the "normal" humans genome to turn them into queerat to be able to use cantus on them.
@teeemtee57397 жыл бұрын
joao soares that was the BIG surprise? I got to like episode 10-13 (one of those) and I put that together. People need to read more stories of this blew their mind. Anyway thanks for putting the SPOILER warning a lot of douches don't do that
@CooSharn7 жыл бұрын
I was surprised (but in all fairness I was watching this during my stoner days). I think it's not about the 'twist' creating shock value for the audience, but more of how it twists the themes of the story. For me, it flipped what I had thought the story was about (the kids and their being groomed into being what society deemed acceptable) and turned it into an example of how we can be blind to our own prejudices - or the result of the need to make these prejudices in order to survive. The queerats were fighting for their humanity, and to be perceived with humanity, and that was denied by the characters and the narrative as well (although the plot always came back to the queerats throughout it's three arcs). I think there was intention on the author's end to try and create this prejudicial-blindness by having the story focus on the plight of the kids but then having a 'plot twist' thrown at them (and, by proxy, the audience too) forcing them to reconsider their own actions/perceptions of why the queerats acted the way they did. The lens we viewed the story from was the kids, they didn't have access to the knowledge and therefore we didn't either (it does cut to a scene of those random flashbacks though, so the consistency isn't there for me to prove). What I'm trying to say is that the plot twist wasn't just for shock value (imo), it was a part of the thematic design of the story. Dehumanization that begins as survival tactic ferments into oppression and is then consumed in the form of ignorance, blind eyes and sheer prejudice. The twist was the characters awakening, the blossoming realization that what their society is doing is "wrong" (depending who you ask) - and that is regardless of whether the rats were human or not; they definitely were being held down by the cantus users in the end. Finally, I would say that the author's choice to make that the rats were modified humans was to take dehumanization to the next level. As thematic devices, their form is possibly meant to represent 'dehumanization' in a literal sense. It's possibly the same for the death feedback - a literal representation of our psychological boundaries when it comes to bringing harm to people we can relate to. Stories focus on kids and their intense grooming = our own inclinations to see societal structures as a form of personal oppression; the reality being that these structures are to prevent a tried-and-tested societal collapse, but can also be taken to extremes. Queerats = our own limitations when it comes to viewing other's with true sympathy and empathy. The result of being oppressed for so long. But also the threat of what could happen if the oppressors guard was too slip. The "twist" ending = the characters realization the life has many shades of grey and that it isn't all about them. I am leaving this as a reply to the above comment, but don't think that this is aimed at you Firstname Lastname (anymore). I have waffled on! I didn't mean to do that. I've taken a response to you're 1 1/2 lines of comment to an extreme. I'm just going to leave this hear because I took the time to write it and I don't want that to go to waste.
