Aja Wilson's first season in the WNBA was one of the best by a rookie in history. She averaged 20.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.67 blocked shots for the Aces, who went 14-20. Diana Taurasi averaged 17.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game during her rookie year. Although the Mercury did not qualify for the playoffs. Clark has averaged 19.5 pts, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game. The Fever are in the playoffs for the first time in 9 years.

I subscribed a few months ago but I have never made a comment. But today, today is different! I see Caitlin Clark as very good at scoring, at assists, at encouraging her team to do their very best: all these are good stats that she brings with her to every game. Does she have too many turnovers? She does have several but she is always feeding the ball to her teammates in back alley passes that most other players have never attempted before but now they are. That is a game changer!

When i saw the headlines on other people's podcasts saying that Sheryl Swoopes was saying Caitlin wasn't dominating, two thoughts came to mind: 1. That TV show was intentionally saying stuff they knew would upset Caitlin's fans so that everyone would complain about it in social media, driving clicks their way. 2. The podcasters then built on it with their own rage baiting to attract clicks of their own. I very, VERY much appreciate your sane take on this!!! I've reached the point where I truly don't care what anti-Caitlin stuff has been said by these talking heads. They're just trying to get viewers to keep coming back. I'm over it.

@@thewolfofwallstreet627 I’ve heard this too about Stephen A Smith. But yeah, whatever agency is behind the talent that secures podcast or ESPN type of show for the WNBA, it would be incredible if they discovered Adrienne and offered her that opportunity. Adrienne spoke about the 5 things the WNBA needs to change ASAP, and I think BETTER media coverage is also one of the things needed. They need that figure that resembles what Stephen A used to be at ESPN, someone who will PUSH the league, and will do it HONESTLY, and with real knowledge, and isn’t afraid to boldly call it exactly like it is. Adrienne has all of that! And I’m dying to watch a show like that. Right now, there is such a huge chasm in WNBA media. Everything is generic and watered down. No standout personalities.

What blows me away about that conversation was that Swoops went so far as to minimize her OWN career in order to minimize CCs! Swoops was asked if there was ever a year she herself dominated in the WNBA and she said no! And the dude was so surprised he followed up “You wouldn’t consider any of those seasons you won MVP a dominant season?” And she said no! Gil doesn't want backlash, and he's a sellout. This is why I unsubbed to him. Notice, how since he's been friends with LeBron James, he hasn't said a negative thing about the Lakers drafting Bronny. You want to know why? It's because he doesn't want the backlash over LeBron, clutch sports and LeBron fans calling him out. Therefore, he doesn't say anything to tick them off. It's the same case here. He knows every person who has called out Sheryl Swoopes both privately and publicly about her hatred and bias towards Caitlin Clark has gotten a lot of backlash. Gil doesn't want that, so of course he's not going to say anything. However, I do think Sheryl messed up by talking back to Steven A Smith publicly on social media, and demanding to come on first take to debate him. Steven A Smith might be an ignorant guy who doesn't even watch the games anymore, even though he pretends like he does. However, this is the same man who got his "brother from another mother" fired in Max Kellerman off first take, and he coldly admitted to being the reason Max was removed publicly too. That should tell you how cold blooded that man is, so if he's willing to do that to him? You can only imagine what he'll do to someone like Swoopes, who's literally nobody to him. And this Phoenix Mercury radio host that's backing Swoopes? What's her face? Sorry, I don't remember, nor do I care. That radio host has committed career suicide imo going against Steven A. Smith too, as I'm willing to bet Steven is probably having conversations behind closed doors to ruin both their careers because he's a vindictive person. You don't mess with Steven A. Smith, and Sheryl may learn that the hard way because Steven won't take the high road like both Caitlin and Gil will. Oh no. He'll take it further downhill if that's what Sheryl wants.

As always you’re spot on-albeit if you go back to my earlier comment(s) during the first two-weeks of the season when everybody was panicking. I said that once the Indiana Fever’s players got use to to playing with Caitlin Clark (CC) that they would be enjoying wide-open shots if the league continued to press and double CC. I predicted that the Fever would eventually be running a Paul Westhead’s (run-and-gun spread offense!) And…let’s not forget (or get it twisted …) Kelsey Mitchell (KM) has always been an elite shooter and deadly b-ball assassin) let’s remember that KM was an All-Star last year and look at what she did if you followed her when she played at Ohio State. Therefore, having KM and CC as your back court, that’s gonna be fun to watch with Aaliyah Boston (AB) in the middle, I can’t wait until next year-go Fever. In my humble opinion, the WNBAs future is in good hands with this year’s crop of rookies and just wait until 2025 and 2026s rookies enters the league. Women Basketball is on “the come up.” The WNBAs future is looking bright! BTW KCs (Kelsey Mitchell’s and Caitlyn Clark’s and the Fever’s recent streak of team (i.e. winning) basketball isn’t mutually exclusive. They both are benefiting from each other’s individual basketball IQ and prowess. Once their defense catches up with their offense…and they practice together this offseason the rest of the teams (with the exception of maybe NY and Las Vegas) better watchout.

It comes down to one factor, she is not Black, if she was this would not be happening, I asked this question - what will they do when Paige B, with her blond hair and looks whiter than Clark comes into the League, and if the scouting reports is better than Clark - there will be two of them, so what will they do then. As for her play, in the top five, while playing on a team that had only won 24 games over three seasons and took the team into the playoffs with at least 20 wins. Now flip Clark over to the Aces, and Wilson to the Fever is there anyone who thinks that Clark's play would not be on a whole different level and that Wilson would still be the same player without that cast - Wilson's first five years show that she would not be. Wilson's biggest advantage is playing on the Aces, A team that won Back-to-Back League Champs, with 4 US Olympic Players playing on the team in 2024 and are a favourite to repeat. Clark on the other hand was at a disadvantage coming to a team that has been losing since 2018 and brought them into the playoffs increasing their ranking to #6 from # 10 and adding 7 games to the win column and did so with far less talent than is available to Wilson, but when compared to Wilson first 5 years, Clark has produced far better numbers in just her first year. Wilson's First 5 Years, Compared to Clark's Rookie Year A Wilson the Center in her first 5 seasons, outrebounded Clark the Guard in 3 of 5 seasons and was outperformed in the other stats detailed below - Hardly GOAT Material. Clark outperformed Wilson in 5 out of 5 seasons for Pts, Ast, and Stls and outrebounded Wilson in 2 seasons. 2018 692 Pts, 74 Ast, *264 Reb*, 28 Stl, eFG% .462 2019 430 Pts, 47 Ast, 157 Reb, 13 Stl, eFG% .479 2020 450 pts, 45 Ast, 188 Reb, 27 Stl, eFG%.480 2021 584 Pts, 98 Ast, *298 Reb*, 28 Stl, eFG% .445 2022 703 Pts, 75 ast, *339 Reb*, 52 Stl, *eFG% .531* Clark Rookie Year WNBA 2024 761 Pts, 329 Ast, 222 Reb, 52 Stl, eFG% .522

CC style of play makes her teammates better. All Fever starters are having career years with her at the point guard helm. Great video Miss Ross - love the energy and excitement you bring to your podcasts. I look forward to listening to them.

There is only one player in the league to get guarded the entire length of the floor of the court from jump ball to the final buzzer that’s the definition of Dominance

How all these people miss so bad? You go to back to back NCAA championships. That’s really impressive, especially playing at Iowa. To me, that means she’s for real. Plus, the flair, the scoring, the passing.

Negating the frame activates the frame. Whatever "dominant" may end up meaning, Swoopes and company reveal that they probably think that CC is dominant since they need to introduce the conversation by negating the idea.

Would anyone spend this much time on TV or KZbin talking about CC if she weren’t relevant/a great player? I appreciate the play of Wilson and Reese and Collier and others - my big question is what are we supposed to expect from athletes - can we appreciate Swopes for her play but not all of her views and opinions? I think we imagine famous people as reflections of ourselves - but we don’t all have to agree about everything to be respectful and humane to one another. I’m watching the Fever because I love an underdog story, and I don’t agree with everything on this channel but I still love and appreciate Adrienne’s thoughts and commentary! Thanks for putting it out there!❤

I thought that at first myself, but this is something different and if you watch her speak about Caitlin while she was in college, Sheryl was just as bitter. She is mad because a white girl broke all her records, because that was what initially set her off. Well before she went on “Gil’s Arena.”

Sheryl Swoopes also said that she doesn't feel she dominated during her MVP seasons, either. That's why I'm saying that whole conversation is a distraction that they have going.

Clark had a dominant rookie year. She did not have a dominant year if this was year 3 and beyond.

I love it when people prove other people wrong. Doesn't matter what race, religion, or gender, anything. Fact is most of this draft class is good, including Angel, Rickea, etc., and of course Clark.
