That was a fantastic estate sale, especially the Christmas area! That lady was extremely rude to dig in the box of ornaments that you were already shopping from. I am glad that it didn't stop you from continuing to grab the ones you wanted. Maybe you should have smacked her hand like a little child who is doing something they shouldn't be doing. Try not to let unpriced items scare you. It often means the owner/company did not think highly enough about their worth to individually price them which means they will probably be relatively cheap. And if it turns out that they are not that cheap, you can always politely refuse and leave them with the cashier. After all, it is their own fault for not pricing all the items so you have every right to change your mind, and the threat of leaving without them will sometimes get you a lower price. You both found some great items, thanks for sharing this fun sale!

I'm not a fan of fur, but I would rather someone take an old fur and recreate something new than it end up in the trash. You held out for the right piggy bank and nailed it! So cute.

I agree with you that the lady pushing into the orno box was out of line, but I've seen rude people at such sales. I watched a video on here awhile back taken at the Goodwill bins and under it was a comment where a lady actually bragged about even worse behavior. She found a shoe, looked for the mate, saw it in a man's hands and grabbed it! Then bragged about it, OMG!

I think those big tall candles were Miro Star. $25 was a great price. I agree with you about digging through a box that someone else is looking through, it is rude. At one estate sale I was at, I was on the floor, off to the side - all alone - going through a box of planters. Some woman came over reached down and snatched one I was going to take right in front of me. I said something. It didn't matter. Those ornament hanger boxes are fabulous.

Good Afternoon Lovely Shiny Bright Doggo....I simply had to comment on the "Handsy Lady scavenger"... unfortunately and Especially When attending A Full Estate Sale this can happen. There have been times When I have had Very Friendly experiences with other shoppers shuffling thru a box that has been properly packaged and We (other shoppers as well) will help each other to unbox, unwrap and basically share the excitement of finding some Amazing items. So Positive Experiences are out there. Most Estate sales are fairly easy going but an Aggressive Shopper will Be at this same Estate Sale for sure. I guess their Anxiousness is certainly not giving off Positive Energy. Some Estate Sales are Better than others. Just keep Doing What You Do...and Happy Hunting and Finding...Have a Great Summer....😅

Nope, if I'm digging in a box that's my box for the moment please wait your turn. I have had to speak up a few times and be assertive. You don't have to be rude or nasty. There's a nice and polite way of doing it while still being firm. Also grab everything you are interested in and if prices turn out to be more than what you want to pay, put it back. I've found out that in most cases the more you buy the better deal you get. I think you guys did great! I would love to go to an estate sale with all that holiday goodness.

When I was a child I had vintage children's encyclopedia set with the plastic film on the covers like the Christmas book, and they were All peeling. I know it's ridiculous, but it is very satisfying peeling off that film. it's also great that after the peeling, that whatever was under the film is nice and glossy. :)

Absolutely love the Holt Howard !!! I love the jewel brites, the Santa’s, the carolers, I adore the Rudolph music box/card….great haul ladies as per usual!!! That grabby lady was extremely RUDE…in my opinion….especially when she was reaching over you. My grandfather bought my granny a mink jacket for a special occasion in the 70’s …I think it was an anniversary or maybe her birthday. I remember how happy she was…she wore it for every special occasion after that. We found out one Christmas that he had worked on the side …to buy this for her. So …I guess because of this…I feel differently. If I found one ….I would repurpose…maybe as a pillow or cover a chair. I think it would be a shame for it to land in a land-field.

Fur is absolutely a no. I love spun cotton ornaments. I think I've only found one in my area, unfortunately. The carolers are so cute. Too bad about the cold paint. Hopefully, you can get the sticker off without a problem. My boyfriend/partner (I never know what to call him, at 56. Lol) washed a vintage cookie jar that has cold paint. What a shame! I would never go through a box someone else is looking through and I try to be courteous BUT if I get a rude vibe from someone, I dish it right back. You have to exude boss vibes when it gets competitive so people know to wait and not mess with you. Lol.

I would have had to buy one of those giant candles (Not the blow molds, but the ones on the table. I have never seen them before. Love the jewelbrites. I don't own any yet, but they are on my list for my silver aluminum tree. Also, I feel the same as you Laura about people getting in my space while I am looking. That lady was being really rude while you were digging in the ornaments. Usually, when that happens to me, I spread my wide butt out a little bit and take up some real estate. I have even been known to say things like, "I will be done here in just a second and move out of your way."

I have to go against the grain and say that its not rude to rifle through the same box as somebody else. If I ever started to look througj a bin with someone already there I always great them with a smile and always say "excuse my reach". I try to keep it friendly too. If I see them reaching for something, I wouldn't reach for that same item. I even will ask "whatcha lookin' for?" Or "ooh thats awesome, cool find." A box or bin is nobody's "territory". Its only somebodys stuff until its paid for, its in their hand or marked sold.

Vintage furs, no problem for me. What’s done, years past, is done. And they can be easily repurposed into fantastic throw pillows. I have a mink throw pillow on my sofa that people love. But where was this sale? The prices seemed very high to me.

Another great sale, you get some goods ones back there. I went to an epic Xmas sale today and found stuff that's harder to find out in WA state - at amazing prices! If someone is looking in a bin I leave it for them, I had something in my hand today and a lady asked if she could look at. She wanted it so bad I just gave it to her!

I agree with you about large size items like the candles. I found 2 mcm 5 globe table lamps fat my Salvation Army recently for only $7.99 each. I only bought one to keep for myself because i had no use for 2 in my home and did not want to ship something that big even though it was worth alot.

Awesome finds, could you maybe soak a soft cloth in a vegetable oil or something like that and place on the tape/ stickers for awhile to help remove stickers off the red paint just a suggestion they are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Ohhhhhhhh NOOOOOOO!!! I would have most DEFINITELY said something about that lady! Years ago I was at a sale and it was the last day and last few hours. I was looking through these small bins that had random stuff and found those little soft plastic deer (This was just when kitschy was coming back) and they were 0.25 each. Mind you this was a little shoebox size bin and this older lady comes right up next to me and tries to grab them right out from under me! I basically told her ummm they are in front of me because I AM buying them and she was not happy about giving them back but I just saw one there and stared at her till she put them back down! That is why I don’t really like Estate Sales because I could never be so rude and expect the same in return. Ok rant over 😉

There is nothing at these sales that I need badly enough to fight crazy people for them. That ornament-grabbing lady was really rude reaching right into the area where you were looking. On the topic of furs- I inherited a mink jacket and I gave it to my mother who loved it. I feel gross in fur. I think fur looks best on the live animal. I just don't want to kill something for the vanity of wearing something to impress others who will know that I have something expensive on. People who do that are petty.

hmm, indeed she was rude but if one person is monopolizing the bin you want. then it's free game I suppose? I didn't know that rule for vintage sale. I am very polite but if one person is taking everything then that politeness is off! I remember buying my fur baby, there were no separate rooms. All these parents just placed their child in my section to babysit their kids and ruin my chance to get to know if the pupply likes me or not? so they can play with the puppies. I mean alot of kids, i was very mad!! So, this is less impolite than what I went thru and I spent thousands that day!

SAVE your money Never purchase Old fur coats in order for them to be desirable they need to be kept in cold storage ! Once the fur is dried out it isn't worth anything! I know about minks worked in a fur vault. I'm from NY lol not Florida

The guy who runs those sales- Gerry- is very nice but always very expensive. I rarely go because of that
