In US Power DAT and Truckstop are two of the most popular loadboards but which load board is popular among mexico carriers ?

We have experience utilizing both DAT and Truckstop for posting loads with Mexico involved in our cross border operation as either the Origin or Destination. Since most of our business involving Mexico will also have a border crossing, we are not familiar with how many users would be using these two main sources for moving loads within Mexico.

As most of our shipments will involve crossing the border either to or from the US when working with Mexico, we do not manage too many shipments that move within Mexico only. Because of this, we wouldn't be the best resource to answer this question for you, sorry!

In US, brokers use MC numbers and safersweb to verify the carrier details for example dispatcher verification and other details. How do you verify such details for carriers who move shipment Canada to Canada only ? They dont have MC numbers and DOT numbers like US carriers, they CVOR number. How can we verify details for such carriers for safety and compliance purpose ?

Great question! A CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration) number is very similar to a MC (Motor Carrier) number in the U.S. All Canadian provinces are required to issue a National Safety Code number to all commercial carriers in their governing jurisdiction to track the compliance and safety record of applicable heavy vehicle operators across Canada. Safety ratings are associated with each commercial vehicle operator and are accessible to the public by visiting the official government website of the province issuing the National Safety Code. Additionally, any Canadian carrier that crosses into the U.S. will have an MC and DOT number, therefore you can use the Safer website or an online carrier verification service such as My Carrier Portal to verify details about a carrier. If the carrier is Canadian only, they won't have a US DOT or MC number, so you'd need to manually check every item individually. Because Canada does not have a federal data base like the U.S. (carriers are monitored at the provincial level), this is much harder to do. I apologize as we do not move this type of load. Your best bet would be googling "cross border personal move" or something along those lines and finding a company that specializes in this field. We do cross border shipments at ATS but not for household moves. Hope this helps and best of luck on the move!
