Just most recently finished off creating and animating a cargo ship RO-RO for a feature film. Ive spent so much time watching these great videos as reference. Being on the actual ship of which my 3d assets were based on, was a blast. The real boat, 'Mimer Brando' is by no means the biggest ro ro out their, but It was quite the job creating all the details and cargo. In the end, no one knows that all but 2 shots in the film with boat at sea is actually completely cgi, ocean boat and all. I love the end result so much im considering doing another cargo ship. but i gota think of something cool yet believable to do with it.

Great Video ! How and where do you install the microphone ?

+Gerold Roth The microphone is 15meters away from takeoff location. It's a 'rode stereo videomic' connected to a GoPro Hero4. The reason i install it away from the take-off location is because allot of people come a talk to me while i'm flying and all that 'talking' ain't nice on the video :) In some of the movies i fly in front of the gopro at the end of the video.

+Robert Hale They aren't aware of the drone, tough i always keep a distance from the ships to avoid problems. I only flew over a ship once (Emma Maersk), but that will not happen again. And if you see a video where i fly over the ship then it means in have permission of the captain to do so :)

They won't make a profit hauling that light a load. Maybe ship capacity is catching up to container volume.
