One thing you could do to kindly remind customers to tip without telling them to tip is when you do your final text, remind them to check their email for their receipt. There they are also prompted to tip with a TIP button on the bottom of their email receipt. Just a thought. 😊

I've just watched a few of your videos and must say you are a very intelligent girl and great shopper. Been doing Shipt for almost a year and half now after converting from IC. I now make more $ then a great paying office job. One MAJOR key to more tips is avoiding "prepaid" orders which are orders directly from a stores app/site that get sent to Shipt. Most of them (especially target) do not prompt the customer to leave a tip as orders that originate on the Shipt app do. Shipt requires a response for a tip prior to delivery and if they chose "not now" they will be prompted to leave a response after delivery before being able to make a new order. Trust me when I say Shipt is MUCH better than IC. Not only can you build a preferred customer base but you have luxuries of finding items easier, higher order pay and tip tracking since you can see addresses prior to accepting offers (very underestimated). Having the fundamentals of an excellent shopper down already I have no doubt you will make BANK with Shipt and have tons of preferred customers. Good luck in whatever you do! P.S. I've heard Shipt is great in Orlando!

So last weekend I had a Party City balloon order with Shipt. I picked up the balloons and notified the customer I was on the way. No response. I get there and it’s an apartment complex with no gate code to enter the parking lot or apartment buildings. I called the customer. No response. I had to wait for someone else to enter so I could follow behind. I find the apartment. Third floor walk up with two massive bags of balloons. Lovely. I knock on the door. No answer. I knock again and again and again with no answer. I called and no answer. I texted. No answer. Mind you this was 5 minutes before it was to be considered “late.” I was PISSED. I couldn’t leave two huge bags of balloons. I called Shipt. They said to keep trying to customer and they did as well. I waited a solid 20 more minutes at my car and no response. I left and did another order at a Target with the balloons in my car. ONE HOUR later the customer calls me. Finally. They said they were at the gym. WTF should’ve been my response. I told them I’d return within 15 minutes. I knock on the door and no response! I knock HARD at this point and they finally answer. And say “oh sorry.” And that was it. I didn’t say a word. I was furious. And guess what? NO TIP. Never again! I copied their address in my notes so I know to never deliver there again. Shipt needs to require customers to tip or the least allow their shoppers to view the full amount ahead of time.

Hi there! I came across your channel when I was looking for Ships content. I started today and I have to say it was horrible. I do not like it. I have been doing Uber Eats and I like it just not getting enough for it to be worth the gas. I need to make money ASAP while looking for employment. I understand that days can vary but yes I have been having a hard time making money. Customers do not tip and I am having to use my gas I have used up what I received in gas. I absolutely agree that if you are ordering for a service you should tip. The order I took for Ships was far but I figured they must need it. My fault yes, but the man had land etc., so I figured the tip would be worth it. NO! No tip at all, I was paid $8. The rest of the orders have been for very low amounts no more than $13. Unfortunately I am not pleased with Shipt and I will try it out maybe a few more times but I am not interested in shopping for groceries 39 items for $8 and gamble on the tip. I do not get hits for Target. I hear stories of people doing this and make good money but I dont know how. I cant afford gas.

Hi. I agree with you. I am quite new with Shipt and I do not understand the no tipping whilst most of the customers I deliver to lives in an $800,000 or more houses meaning well-off. I went to a restaurant recently and they had the audacity to automatically put 20% tip on our total bill when in fact, I dressed up, drove to the restaurant so that is my gas and yet I was forced to give a tip. With these kind of platforms, your gas, your effort and energy especially if the customer keeps on adding items. It is stressful enough to be late in delivering because you cannot say no to additional orders but to not tip you when you went out of your way to keep on sending pictures for substitutions and new orders. I really do not understand how people can be like that because I wouldn't use delivery if I cannot afford to tip. but i know not everybody understands that.

Shopping for resort customers can be frustrating. First Disney doesn't explain the shopper is not allowed to deliver to the rooms for safety & security purposes. You have to deliver to bell services or if they have alcohol, of course you have to meet them at the front of the check-lobby. A lot of times the customer may be on the plane, at an airport or in the parks. So, sometimes there is no communication. In order to leave with bell services, you need first & last name on the reservation. I have labels I use to write the name on & stick it on the bags. The cast members are very helpful. A wagon comes in handy too. I deliver a case of bottled water with almost every order. If you have any questions just ask. I am always glad to help.

Can the customer pre tip? I’m considering shipt but if there are no “pre tip” orders I probably will stay away. Thanks!

I have found in my region in Nebraska, Shipt customers tip when they open the app next, approximately 90 to 95% of the customers do tip in my experience in my region though. Enjoy Orlando, congratulations on the Sunshine State relocation ☮️

How do you like Orlando? I'm from Connecticut and am highly considering moving there.

Hi Lauren! Orlando is really great! So many fun towns outside of Orlando. So much to do. Can’t beat the weather. A little pricey here right now. I love it!! 💛

What did shipt say since she wasn’t answering her text? Or what should you do if a customer doesn’t answer and been waiting a long time ?

I am on the Shipt and instacart platforms & am scared poopless to do it 😢😢 mainly because of my Houston driving fear! Anyone have any encouraging words for me! I really want to do Shipt ♥️♥️ J

Should be upset with the companies that allow to not pay the drivers and shopper a livable wage.

Shopping, 8 miles there and 8 miles back for $12.22... I'm mad for you. It's not right. People aren't right. I always tip at least 20% and have a $5 tip minimum. I never leave a driver feeling the way we are left feeling. Be safe in Florida! It's crazy down there.

Guess maybe where instacart is a little better for delays like that to help the frustration! By the way instacart is slowly adapting aisle item identification to help us look for stuff. They also are giving is a fuel payback fee on our orders. To help the gas hikes that has been going on everywhere.

After I deliver a shipt order I send three text messages. One is a picture of the delivered items, one stating your order has been delivered, and another saying thank you for shopping Shipt. Tips are greatly appreciated. I started adding the last message my last shopping trips I made. I did four shipt orders in one week. I sent the tip reminder to all of these customers. Out of 4, 3 of them gave me decent tips. One customer gave me a tip two days later. So there is no guarantees. But I do believe some people think that shipt shoppers are target employees. Or something else like that and don't need tips. I feel a little request goes I long way.

beware of mentioning tips. just spoke to shipt and they told us we can't do that

Good luck with the move and the new house! I only do Shipt when they offer big bonuses so it is worth it. If they don't tip, I know I will get a bonus for doing 5 orders or whatever it is. I haven't seen that in a few months though.
