Looking for a unique outdoor activity? How about exploring a shipwreck?
Just outside Los Angeles, you can find the remains of the S.S. Dominator which ran ashore in 1961.
This hike takes you along the beautiful shoreline of the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwestern LA County.
There are a few places you can start the hike, I chose to follow the Alltrails map in the link below. This route is about 5 miles (out and back) and starts in the city of Palos Verdes Estates (it's fancy there).

If you want to see the shipwreck but prefer a (somewhat) shorter hike, you can start from the location mentioned in the article below. Be warned, this is not necessarily an easier route.

🚙 Parking: Parking is free for both routes above and is street parking in a residential area. I didn't see any nearby parking lots.
🐕 Dogs: I didn't see any dogs but I also didn't see any signs saying 'no dogs'. This hike is probably not a great one for your furry friend, there are many sharp rocks/rusty metal fragments.
