Officially confirmed by Eurogamer, Takeda is now Kenshi’s cousin in this new era. He liked being part of the Yakuza and was ordered to kill Kenshi, but he failed and the Shirai Ryu took him in. Now he’s a vigilante trying to take down the criminal underworld for revenge. This is why no light sabers and more Shirai Ryu focus with the teleport and his heated whips.

​@@MegawapsI'm guessing because he rearranged the universe with as minimal pain as possible in mind, obviously that didn't work but I would assume he made Takeda, Kenshi's cousin so that Takeda's mother doesn't get assassinated by the Black Dragon and she would still be alive, but he would then need another motive to be trained by the Shirai Ryu and be a badass as he was previously for gameplay purposes. That's just my theory, I could be very wrong🤷🏻‍♂️

The Takeda gameplay trailer was good. The dialogue between Takeda and Johnny was hilarious with the Mortal Kombat X reference. Great movement, awesome fatal blow as well fatality. Excited about Takeda! I like him as well. I also would like to see Kung Jin, actually. I feel like more could be done with him, especially in this new timeline with some focus on Kung Lao. Plus he's one of the few queer characters in MK, the only other ones would be Mileena, who's a bisexual woman, and Tanya, but i'm not sure what Tanya's sexual identity is. I think it's important to keep characters like him to collect some representativity in the franchise. He's an interesting character and he has potential for a beautiful story.

It’s pronounced Tah-keh-dah if you base it on the Japanese pronunciation. If you copy and paste 竹田　into Google translate you should be able to play the audio and hear the pronunciation

Yes was excited to see Takeda come back! His gameplay looks good! I'm excited by the fatality and what else they have for this. His air play looks great! Glad he has the same voice actor! I loved him in MKX!!! But from what I remember Losty, in MK1 this version of Takeda is not Kenshi's son but Kenshi's ancestor who created the clan years ago. It's a lil weird but i guess were suppost to go with it 😅😅
