What I like about Maya is that she's genuinely nice. Most female characters in games are only given indirect traits that say that they're nice (such as shyness or healing ability), but actual kindness is rare. Maya still loves her little siblings, no matter what they do.

Maya sounds very real and well written, her character legit sounds like a real human, she is flawed, she acts pisitive to hide stuff, tries to look cheerful infront of the young ones, despite being an adult she is still young and can be carefree, hence why she has a messy room.

For those who don't know Persona 2, that last theme feels like something they'd play at a funeral, which gets depressing. Persona 3 is what set the series in motion but before that there was the hilarious, emotional wild world of Persona 2.

Re-drawn character design by Masayuki Doi for Eternal Punishment (PSP version). Let him be character designer on Persona 6 and beyond! Soejima will be busy with works from Studio Zero from now on. He is something between Kaneko and Soejima. Fits Persona.

Some of his designs for SMT IV Apolcalypse and SMT Strange Journey Redux though....eeeeh. The Persona Team at Atlus has an art unit of 3 people (maybe more now) who support Soejima's work and have made tons of pieces that most fans usually think are Soejima's. I think they deserve a good shot at Persona 6 and beyond if Soejima really does lessen his Persona involvement. Maybe they'd be able to show off their individual styles too w/that opportunity. (don't get me wrong though, Doi is pretty great too, but I think he'll probably stick with SMT games)

Sune The reason his designs were meh in recent SMT games are because he was under heavy control from the higher-ups. He isn't as respected as Kaneko was, so he doesn't have as much say as Kaneko did, in regards to what the designs will be. If you look up scraped Apocalypse designs, there are many great designs. Hell, Nanashi was supposed to be a fucking dad. I just hope that he gets more respect in the future, and will be able to do whatever he wants, just like Kaneko and Soejima did. There is really a lot of potential in him.

Tbh maya might be the best made female character in persona. As much as I love Rise and Aigis for example. P2 characters are so well made that I can’t help but love them and admit they’re the best. P1 and 2 are very different from P3 and P4... they're more in line with the original shin megami tensei series, when you know, you gotta talk the demons into join you and trade tarot cards in the velvet room in exchange for powerful demons, no social links. They're not for everyone, but if you enjoy the part of negotiating with demons you're gonna love them, nonetheless both games have an incredible story and remarkable characters on par with P3 and P4.

Maya is the full package of a female character because of how realistically she's written. She has the cheeriness of Chie in P4, the seriousness of Mitsuru in P3 when the situation calls for it, and the diligence of Makoto in P5 in terms of her journalist work.

Persona 1 had a good ending. Also Persona 2 ends in a sort of happy way? bitter yet sweet in Eternal Punishment. Its theme was moving on instead of dwelling too much in a troubled past.

Kitajoh-san is not a Persona mainline composer. Konishi composed his first Persona title, Persona 5, along with Meguro. If Konishi gets freedom he will compose more rock themes because that is his DNA since he joined Atlus. He did additional themes for PSP versions of Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. They are quest battle, additional battle and additional boss battle. The one who did original Maya theme and battle theme was Kenichi Tsuchiya. He is the synth person at Atlus. You recognize his battle themes in SMTIV. Kind of old school among composers from Atlus Sound Team. I assume Meguro will be very busy with works from Studio Zero that he leaves everything to Konishi now. Masayuki Doi will probably do works for Persona now that Soejima has Project Re Fantasy. It's good for Persona to see a change. Kazuhisa Wada is also now chief director on Persona series. Doi and Wada have worked together before on SMT III Nocturne and Trauma Center series on Wii.
