Seriously speaking now, I can't imagine how in the world I have missed out on listening to Shirley Bassey growing up as gay man. I heard the soundtrack from the movies, watched roommates impersonate her for a live benefit but the video of her performing absolutely blew me away because Shrirly Bassey in my opinion is more than an out standing performer she is a singer /educator .She teaches us as she sings. She communicates and services the song writers words in clear and precise way and so we get the intent or motive backing up her words all encased in love. I love that. Thank you.

Wow! What a one-of-a-kind voice. The type that is rarely heard. Powerful yet controlled. I heard her for the first time in 1964 singing the title track "Goldfinger" and at age 11 immediately went out and bought the soundtrack (on vinyl). "Diamonds Are Forever" is a much more subdued song, but also pleasing with a strong air of mystery that it evokes. Composer John Barry and singer Bassey made a great combo.
