Surely the best female singer of all time. No one gets in there with the emotion that Ms Bassey delivers. All the power, all the gentleness and pitch perfection. There'll never be another like her.

This is what a 16 year old single mother, of mixed race from the roughest part of a very rough city can become if you have the talent and the force to push yourself forward. At 18 her song was banned by the BBC for being too suggestive and now at 80 she is a Dame (female knighthood) multi millionaire who could just sit and relax until her last days but no she is still recording and touring and yes she is still hitting those notes. Oh and above all she is humble and beautiful to all she meets now that's a star.

Eric1966- beautifully put. Still can perform at 86 ( BAFTAS 2022). My favourite is My Life but the other version La Vita. I wish I could hear that on KZbin. Only version of La Vita on KZbin is from 60s. She is a true singer- apparently has range of an opera singer and her diction!!!!!!! Superb.

Dame Shirley Bassey is one of the greatest female singer in England, Europe and in South East Asia. Her voice is recognized by million of fans. She sang infront of Queens, Kings, princes and Presidents. I'm so glad that the Americans started to embrace her. Thank you for this video. Another video ," If I never sing another song ." When I was 16 years old I was a dressmaker for a company that made the same of the dresses for Shirley Bassey , I met her once, and I can tell you she is the most warm and beautiful lady ,I call her smiling eyes

I love the reaction from both of you. And I enjoyed your video a lot. Keep it up! Although Bassey is known as a diva, I don't think she is in attitude. I have been fortunate to have met her a few times and each time she was sweet, accommodating, and kind. I have been a huge fan of hers from the time I was a child and there is not one contemporary vocalist I can think of that compares. She uses her raw talent and needs no electronic embellishments!
