LCL becomes mad creepy when you find out what it is. These children have been breathing puree people. Shinji "smells like blood... I feel sick..."
@junfaa4 жыл бұрын
Much of the LCL at the end of the show is. All life on Earth began the process of evolution in her blood. Her blood itself is made up of the chemical elements that eventually give rise to life, the LCL the pilots use would have to begin the process of evolution all over again, and using what I know about real life evolution that is separate from the fictional elements in the show, whatever new lifeform evolves several lifetimes later will very likely not look like anything that previously lived. It's different for the humans that turned into LCL because they already had souls and were sentient enough to figure out how to come back.

I feel like this song is a better representation for One More Final: I need You. Thanatos is way more fitting for the first part of the movie because it’s tamer than the second part and doesn’t focus on the psychological aspects of the characters and general humanity. It would fit as a credit song if the credits rolled after the movie but them it would lose the entire effect and purpose of the mid-credits.
@aortaplatinum3 жыл бұрын
It would work fantastically for if the team had gone with the "severed arm ending" they were considering. We see Shinji having washed up on the beach. His right hand is holding a white one. "I'll never see them again." "It's better to think of it this way." "I'm still alive, so I'll keep on living." He squeezes the hand harder. Then, he sees Rei (like in the actual episode and Last A). We eventually see that there is nobody lying near Shinji. Just a white arm without the rest of the body, implied to be Rei III's arm from when it fell off in Terminal Dogma. The camera then shows the full moon. FIN 0:00

Knowing that the lyrics were inspired by Shinji and Asuka’s relationship really adds to the song. It reflects how they feel about each other very well. It’s very harsh, but sweet at the same time. And in the end, there is hope for them. Just like in the final scene in End of Evangelion.
@Tarnished-bn5gq8 ай бұрын
To me, the final scene was the eternity Shinji chose for himself. He chose existence held by his mother in an eternity on the beach of the new world he could no nothing to prevent the creation of, while perpetually being abused by his girlfriend he could do nothing to prevent the death of. Rather than instrumentality, where he learns to accept joy and the appreciation others had for him, he chose the comfort of a perpetual existence of depression and abuse, while earth and humanity is left to reform itself. Depression was more comforting to Shinji than joy, so of course the eternal afterlife he made for himself reflected that.
@AaronPloof8 ай бұрын
That's an interesting take. I've always seen it that Shinji rejects the false comfort of Instrumentality in order to possibly seek some sort of "true" happiness in the real world, reflected by the animation still with all his friends and loved ones and the quote where he said he felt happy with them.@@Tarnished-bn5gq

@nikopierrot3 жыл бұрын
End of EVA is a masterpiece, but I can see this song, or at least parts of it/the chorus, fitting the scene where Shinji selfishly seeks Asuka's comfort in the strangulation scene. I know that the silence and tension right as he snaps at her saying "no" to his cry for self-indulgence is important, but this song could have been sliced up and placed in parts of the scene because the song's lyrics seem to parallel Shinji's delusional view of Asuka and other people as objects as well as arbiters of his worth. "You can sail the seven seas and find / Love is a place you'll never see" or "Squeeze the very last and dying breath from / Everything you've ever dreamed" are both good lines that show his currently warped perception of people and the pain that he projects on to himself through others.

This one is complementary with KST. If you hear KST, with all the sequence of the movie, and then this one, after the movie, the effect of both are depressingly beautifull. Its just breaks the emotions of your adolescence. It dosnt matter how many year passed since you have watch the movie. It will break you again.

Just edited a marriage video with this music. Customers didn't understand the lyrics because of foreign language but it sounds very romantic for non english speakers so they loved it. As a lone man for couple of months, it was ironic to use this music for that kind of event. "Love's just a thing others do." I felt the lyrics in my bones when i shoot those happy married couple and making the video edit afterwards. They were really liked the video and thank me for it while i take the compliments with a bittersweet forced smile on my face and realizing i still cannot forget about her after months...

I could seriously consume every shred of cut, unused, and behind the scenes Eva content. It's interesting to think how "The End of Evangelion"'s Third Impact scene could have changed if they would have used this track instead of "Komm Susser Todd". How would it be remembered today?

Beautiful song. Would listen to this when I was extremely depressed with suicide ideation, lyrics cut like a knife through your skin to your heart. I'm a lot better now! I've internalised the lessons of Eva at last. It really does get better, I promise. Just keep living and connecting to people, and remember that only you can make yourself Whole. When you do that, that's when you can really love and be loved. Transcendence does not come from relationships, ideologies, technology, religions. It comes from within, even if we are in the end times and the world is bleak.

For my friend Riccardo What was it she did to break your heart Betray your heart and everything Kiss you with a kiss that wasn't true It wasn't you at all Hide behind a painted smile, did you know that You would live a lie or two Pull the very ground from under you And leave you nowhere else to run You can sail the seven seas and find Love is a place you'll never see Passing you like a summer breeze You feel life has no other reason to be You can wait a million years and find That heavens too far away from you Love's just a thing others do What is love Til it comes home to you Did she promise you the world and did that Girl just throw your love away Leave you like a lonely solitaire With just despair for company Do you think you'd find revenge so sweet Make it so you hearts will never beat Squeeze the very last and dying breath from Everything you've ever dreamed You can sail the seven seas and find Love is a place you'll never see Passing ou like a summer breeze You feel life has no other reason to be You can wait a million years and find That heavens too far away from you Love's just a thing others do What is love Til it comes home to you You can sail the seven seas and find Love is a place you'll never see Passing you like a summer breeze You feel life has no other reason to be You can wait a million years and find That heavens too far away from you Love's just a thing others do What is love Til it comes home to you

@@LonewolfeSlayer The artist is Yukiko Okada! I looked up the English translation of the lyrics and there’s a certain line that’s interesting: “You brushed away the white sand on my eyelashes with your fingertips I surprised you by saying, “I’m sorry,” tears in my eyes” Not saying that the song is directly related to EoE, but the similarity sure is unsettling.

Back when I started this account, I was getting all sorts of random (but great) unknown songs and musicians, often jazzy, sometime Japanese. When you are incapable of reciprocating love for another person or even God themself, try as hard as you like to emulate those feelings out of respect by going through the motions, but the results will always be hollow and empty. Often times you will end up actually feeling anger and resentment toward those that express they feel that way about you. For love to work, it MUST be a two way street, otherwise it is pointless. If you’ve lost the ability to feel that entirely, then there are no easy solutions when you find yourself the narrator of this song. Love is 100% essential for any meaningful relationships with human beings, you are locked out on a cold empty street otherwise.
