I’ll admit, until this game, I didn’t like the S-IV’s. they walked around with this cocky swagger that didn’t feel deserved, and it was easy to believe that any S-II could break one of them in half like a Twix bar. It’s only now that you remember most of them were veterans and special forces members before they became Spartans, and we see exactly what it takes to kill them: if not an ex-silent shadow assassin, then an entire company of Covenant that will go down to bullets grenades and a FUCKING SCREWDRIVER. Now I get why Chief has respect for them, and why he sees them as fellow Spartans 🫡

Man I love the Halo universe so much, I didn't play all the games cause money was always hard to come by and stuff, but watching the full games off of GLP and hearing the audiobooks, reading bits of the books and watching the lore videos I fucking love virtually every iteration of Spartans for what they can represent, from children so blind to the indoctrination they underwent, orphans so blind in rage they would willingly throw themselves in the hundreds for the chance to rip apart covenant with their bare hands to their current iterations flying dangerously close to the metaphorical sun to then begin their slow descent through the murky skies with the current conflicts I admit, I initially was apprehensive with what they did with the personalities of the Spartan-IVs and I didn't like how it felt like 343 was sorta sweeping the IIs and IIIs under the rug outside of blue team, but I also believe this is a great time to begin to start a story of a passing of the torch , maybe even a regression in mentality (going back to taking disparaged children or indoctrinating people into fractured husks) in light of increasing conflicts. It's great that we're maintaining the "unbreaking will" aspect of Spartans, but what made them so interesting to me was that they were people that were more like empty husks trying to understand norms that were so different from theirs, like machines that were so fractured internally they couldn't even begin to fathom what was wrong with them until the right events happened and they started getting their older memories jogged I loved the time of Halo Legends especially, where there was plenty of "more recent" shows portraying indoctrinated people trying to make sense of their "fragments", like the Spartan - IIs with their flash clones and I really really want to see some of that kind of stuff coming back again, a very broken and gritty concept

I do know that Osiris disbanded after H5, but Locke is alive and well on the ring (at least according to the audio logs) and Blue Team is still kicking too, and I'm fairly sure they're also on a separate portion of the ring from Chief, so there is potential to see them in the game eventually. As for Red Team, I actually have no clue but they're by far the ones I want to see the most.
