In this video corin shows us some shishigashira Japanese maple bonsai. This cultivar lends its self well to bonsai with its tight growth habit and is a personal favourite of Corins

Couldn't really appreciate how big that shishigashira is until you held the pot you bought from Belgium next to it.

Shishigashira is also one of my favorite Acer P. Those you have is totally amazing. I bought one in shohin and i was so lucky. The most perfect shaped tree and no wire marks. It just needs some years to thinken up, that´s all.

We love this variety of Maple. They are tough to train when they start maturing, but diligence and patience pays off. You showed two that I would love to have in our little collection. That large one at end of video was simply stunning. Its shaping is impressive. I look forward to updates of it, and all you just showed.

Grest video and some fantastic Shishigashira For helping us with size reference maybe putting your hands around the base of the trunk at nebari level, (as long as wont damage the tree reaching it)

Mate you always talking about maples , where are your junipers especially yamadoris,, mostly all your trees are from japan , dont you have any Native trees===== i m big fan of you knowledge
@nat-xs2fs5 ай бұрын
You do know he sells them, wheres he supposed to get them all from so fast, he must have to sell a good few a day, overheads and all that
@greenwoodbonsaistudio5 ай бұрын
I like Maples so have quite a few, and you cant get palmatum cultivars yamadori. I work with all trees, have done some vids on more yamadori type trees, check out our other videos.
@c.hockey5 ай бұрын
he has hundreds of native trees if you go to the nursery and have a look instead of judging off of a few youtube videos
@NFSCfan5 ай бұрын
I’m English and don’t think you’d do well finding wild juniper and Japanese variety specimens for collection around here. If they were yamadori they’d generally have to be imported, and I’m sure most bonsai nurseries do have a few such trees.
