Protip: Half circles can be input by rolling across all ASD until they're all held down, then releasing them in the same order. It's almost like drumming your fingers across a table. I find this to be the most consistent way of doing them. It's far less precise than trying to tap and release each one in succession quickly, as it's basically just rotating your wrist a bit. In either case, make sure you emphasize that last cardinal direction, as it's just as easy to miss as this video suggests. If you're like me and hate your hands being so close together and the offset between rows on the main keyboard, the numpad it's a great place to put attacks assuming you have one. I use it in almost every fighting game I play. I personally use 4, 5, 6, + for P, K, S, HS, then 0 for D with my thumb. If you don't like your pinkie in the mix, I've also been trying out a rainbow setup (1, 4, 5, 6, 3 for P, K, S, HS, D respectively) and it also feels fine, though you need to move your fingers more. I even saw someone using the right arrow key as a bind for their thumb because they like having their hand splayed out more. It's very versatile.

Not sure if you've learned this yet since it's been 10 months, but in strive you don't actually have to do full half-circle - you only need 624/6246 to do 63214/632146; I had trouble when I tried plus r because I can't cheat there. Also, what's important to do directional (especially half-circle) inputs is your wrist, it'll be easier and more consistent, if your middle finger is not fast enough. People said that playing on keyboard put too much work on your left hand, but I never have any problem with it, probably because I played a lot of Devil May Cry.

You do not understand the amount of bliss I felt when you mentioned n key rollover at the start of the vid, anyways nice video with great detail the only thing problem I'd see is if you play zato you'll want to be able to put your fingers comfortably on all the attack inputs except for dust but your explanations for why each button was where was amazing.

yeah the main thing i made this video for WAS the ghosting/n-key roll over LOL. ive had too many people say that the inputs dont work in the game (for like Roman Cancelling) or are too strict. i send them the website and lo and behold, they can't even hold J and K down. glad you liked the video, i made it on a complete whim :)

If your keyboard has a numpad I suggest trying use that if you cant press that many keys at once, my keyboard can't handle ASD and JKL but it can handle ASD and 123 (on the numpad) just fine

bro... played this game on controller and could not get used to the dpad. I played dbfz with controller and was able to somewhat manage it but this might actually now get me back into guilty gear now that I can not worry as much about inputs and focus on playing the game. Thanks a lot

i, for the life of me cant figure out how to do Baiken's tk youzansen consistently

youzansen is similar to other tiger knees. think of the input this way: 2369S. if you do a slash, you inputted the slash before jumping. if you jump into the air and do a youzansen high, then you inputted the slash a little late. it takes a little bit of practice, just boot up training mode and you'll get it in no time.

I am going to buy Guilty gear soon, i don't have a controller. my question is; i want to main Ramlethal. but her combos seem heavily reliant on the analog stick? can i play her with keyboard? i've played tekken 7 with keyboard for a while but in that game certain combos were impossible with some characters (Armor King for example.) so i'm wondering. Also, ramlethal pretty much is the only character that interests me so if i can't play with keyboard i guess i will have to buy a controller before buying the game lol

not to phrase it in a rude way, but avoid using an analogue stick for fighting games, its objectively the worst way to play possible. this also applies to tekken, always use the d-pad or even a fight stick. inputs in fighting games are "on" or "off," so analogue ends up being detrimental. this is because analogue reads inputs on a scale of 0 to 100. rather than digital, which is the only way the majority of FGs accept inputs ramlethal has some of the easiest combos and inputs in the game, with all of her special inputs being quarter-circles of half-circles. you can easily play ramlethal, or any character in the game (except for MAYBE goldlewis, but even then its still possible) with keyboard and have 0 problems, so dw. to answer your question: yes, you can play ramlethal with keyboard

Are you on keyboard and using my layout? If so, the inputs would be this assuming you're facing right: Hold A (back) for a second (60 frames), then push D (forwards) and press K or L. Hold the button to travel further. For the vertical dolphin, hold S (down) for a second, then push Space (up) and press K or L.

you really gotta sit down in practice mode and practice the inputs, no way around it. REALLY make sure you hit forwards, down, and especially back. most people when starting out on keyboard will miss the back input, causing them to drop the input entirely. keyboards makes it so you can do the inputs incredibly fast once you get down to it. with it being completely digital, you can essentially do it as fast as you can input it and the game can register it

its my personal preference: it also goes in-line with how regular hitbox controllers are setup, which is what im aiming for. heres an example of a hitbox/leverless controller: www.hitboxarcade.com/products/hit-box its impossible to do a thumb up button on arrow keys... at least comfortably
