Rolling into Number Seven in our series of performances from Bruce’s Deep South Solo Tour with a track that could easily pass as a metaphor for our crazy world- “Shit’s Crazy Out Here”. Imagine Arnold Schoenberg and Elliott Carter meet The Beatles at the Boo Williams Sportsplex for some highest-level Darwinian AAU Basketball.

I was 11 when I first heard Bruce sing The Way It Is......I'm 50 now....and my love for your music has never wavered, no one will ever play the piano like you.....at least not to my ear.

That just doesn't add upp. The way it is came out in 1986, so you couldn't have been 11 when you first heard it.

@@Kevin-gb8gb so you've just proved my memory isn't what it was....I didn't do the math... it was just anecdotal. Congratulations

From the Volpe Practice Building at the University of Miami School of Music, Vince Maggio, Dennis Kam, Whit Sidener, Larry Lapin and even Dr Alfred Reed would be so blown away at what they helped incubate in and through you. Dude, I am proud to have been lucky enough to hear you a time or two there. Thanks Bruce for making others dreams come true through the Creative American Music program. Go Canes!!!!

I'm bound and determined to crack the code on this thing. I concede that there is a degree of humor, and yet, I still maintain that qualitative element that contains an expression of feeling that has a seed of truth, a reflection of something in the world, not just an exercise in tonal creation. At 2:35, that call, as if for help, an expression of something in that...(the image evoked is someone calling a friend from a phone booth from a sketchy neighborhood, a name?...Key?),and then that incredible chordal journey. A wonderful piece of music from whatever etiology. - edit, weeks later: Dang, that took long enough..The Darwinian tone, the name, Keith, called out by a fellow player in the AAU. I hear more comedy in it now, but still...Elliot Carter...the moods....somewhat serious at the same time...a lot on the line.

I would have called this "The Stolen-Election Covid-Nightmare Where The Phuck Am I ? Blues". Perfect in it's dystonic, steadfast refusal to RESOLVE. Perfect.
