I wouldn't say Bruce is/was underrated. He won 3 Grammy Awards, his song "The Way It Is" went to #1 on Billboard and became one of the greatest songs of 1987, he also made the top 10 with "Mandolin Rain", "The Valley Road" and "Every Little Kiss", he co-wrote "Jacob's Ladder", a #1 hit for Huey Lewis, and "End of the Innocence", a major hit for Don Henley. Plus, he was a member of bands The Range, The Grateful Dead, The Noisemakers and Ambrosia. I'd rather call that being a superstar!

i was 19 years old, leaving the safety of the nest. It was 1985, and I had the entire world in front of me. So many many many dreams. So many many many feelings of those moments of just survival and magnificent triumph. I'll never forget the last day I was home. And as I drove down the old road that had cuddled me for those 19 years... that next time I returned it would never be the same again. That breaks my heart to think everything is always forward-moving. Nothing stays the same.. nothing... you just gotta get up and move with flow or you get drowned in the sea of life.

And my boss, Ron Voorhees, was absolutely lovely and wonderful!!! Best experience in my life....but, it saddens me...what the oil industry has done...we are on the way to a huge collapse of our planet because of fossil fuels... and I was a part of that...and now...I am an old retired lady who just has a kitty...and I look back at all the things I did and jobs...YES I WOULD NEVER CHANGE ANY CUZ THEY ALL WERE LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND incredible experiences....I just wish and HOPE...we can...no NO...THOSE WHO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE....step up, work with the planet and environmental people...AND SAVE THIS PLANET!!! It's on US, KIDS....it is on us.....think about that and wonder how much of carbon imprint YOU are inpressing on this planet...WE ONLY HAVE THIS ONE PLANET...NO OPTIONS...SO CLEAN IT UP...TAKE CARE OF IT...This isn't something you can go in the shower and wash off!!! THIS IS REAL...and one day soon...our kids, grandkids, unknown KIDS...WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT!!! WAKE UP!!! please wake up... and help take care of our planet... kisses and soft hugs to you all...

ah...the ache in this song is tremendous...i remember hearing this on tv and the radio at 11 or 12 years old....feeling it but not entirely understanding just how beautiful this music was. but it has stayed with me for years and i have grown to know exactly what it can mean..."when the day goes down on the water town/when the sun sinks low all around/that's when i know i, i need you now/yes, you're what i miss..."...love it!

I remember owning a copy of "The Way It Is" on cassette when I was 16. This song (track #2 right after "On The Western Skyline") was my FAVORITE Bruce Hornsby tune!!!! I also remember the heavy rotation of the video on MTV during the late spring-early summer of 1987. Fabulous song!!!!

Beautiful! This song reminds me of driving across our Country with my little kitty buds Mr. Cosmo tabby cat stray (stray kitty i picked up in late 2000... we we both drove from Illinois through Arizona and staying at questionable hotels n places....he is gone now 2012, but still, to this day, Bruce Hornsby & The Range, reminds me of the adventures that my little dude meister and i had during those outlaw years traveling' from Midwest to the desert! Lovin' this ...Every Little Kiss, the whole album, we listened to it over and over traveling'. All Hail Cosmo...& BHATH. Tears roll down with memories of him and this song and band. PS. on the way, in Oklahoma, i took him out onto a break with a cat leash, then a woman thought I was walking a little dog LOL This song means so much to me and my life through those rough times,, and Como's rough times ahead..But we both enjoyed our life and trip together. Cheers😍🌎😼
