Did you know that Groningen is farther away from Amsterdam than Amsterdam is to Groningen? Yes due to the way the roads go the trip from Amsterdam to Groningen is longer than the other way around. Also, one of the curch towers not shown in the video is called the 'dronkenmans toren' (drunk persons tower). It's called like that because no matter where you are, you'll always see two sides of it (as if you're drunk). It's because the tower has six sides in stead of the normal four that towers have.

You know, I've lived there all my life. I know it is called that. But I didn't know why. Also never travelled by car to/from Amsterdam. Couldn't you just travel the same roads in the opposite direction? Are there one-way sections?

@Joennemans It's interesting. Could be a psychological thing. Like the trip home always seems to feel faster than the trip away. Because the trip away is filled with anticipation of going to an event. Or perhaps it is a time thing. I'm assuming most people travel to Amsterdam for work rather than the other way around. And by the time you go home to Groningen, you get stuck in rush hour. Causing the trip to take longer.
