The interior is basically bullet, proof on the sprinters, but the exterior is marcades. So the exterior door handles will probably brake before the interior has a single scratch.

Nice addition to 27North lineup, however, it feels like there is no vision for a family focused expedition van that could safely transport and sleep family of four in a off road capable 170 wheel base sprinter van. I’m sure there is a big market for this need and not many reputable companies offering practical options. 27North should be listening.

HI Tim, if you are interested in more of this type of vehicles, in Germany and Austria there are a lot of manufactureres doing this as well and doing it for decades, the most luxurious being Action Mobil of Austria Orange Works of the Netherlands, Boklet of Germany (owner is former Dakar driver) UNiCat of Germany (build a 6x6 truck for saudi royalti among other things) and so many more

I was thinking the Ascender might be $300K but in fact they run $675-1000K. I see you can get the Sprinters used for about $275K. But that is alot of money that a good fabricator, leather furniture maker, electronics builder etc. could do to create something more bespoke and say Bentleyesque. Plain black leather cushions for $800K?

Sprinter vans are awesome but once you get to that high end price level why not just go all out and build a Unimog expedition vehicle? Although, these sprinter vans are probably a lot more comfortable and fuel efficient on long highway journeys...I really like these nice off-road campers on a trailer called Black Series RV and hook up to a nice pickup truck.

The vehicle hit a deer at 50 mph, and the was "no damage." I'm glad to hear that the deer was okay... This guy couldn't care less about animals. If his vehicles are not mowing them down, he's killing them to use their skins to cover the driver's chair. Ghastly.
