Thank you I will follow your method as it’s less fiddly and much easier. I have my sinamay covered in a pvu glue mix. I have really enjoyed watching your wee videos on KZbin. Do you have more or anywhere else I can watch more?

Hi that was very informative. Any tips on how to cover it in velvet fabric?
@SHMillinery Жыл бұрын
Cut your velvet on the bias, the stretch will help with a smooth covering

Thank you so much Sara. I have blocked two. One on a wooden block and one on a polystyrene. Just waiting on them drying. Will they not collapse if no wire inside to strengthen?
@SHMillinery Жыл бұрын
Because I use an internal metal headband, I don't need to wire. If you are doing a different method you may need to add a wire frame. It depends on how stiffened your fabric is

Thank you so much for posting! I want to start millinery and your videos make me feel like I can do it. It's very scary for me because where I live you can't find literally anything and I have to import everything. * ok I can find pins and scissors but that's about it* All jokes aside I really appreciate what you are doing! You can't imagine how much hope and determination you can harvest in newbies like me ❤😂!

Hi Sara I have finished blocking and adding the metal band and I’m about to cover in the stretch velvet fabric. Do I sew it or glue it? It’s a bit fiddly so I was wondering what you would suggest. Thanx again for all your tips x
@SHMillinery Жыл бұрын
I would sew to the underside, as once glued it is difficult to adjust, also the glue may leech through the fabric

Also I do show a sewn one here kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6XUf5pmoaaYkKssi=GcNYu_QlsiBNBB4w

Could the headband had gone on the outside like the one made with bukram?
