If you think all pagans are the same, and that some don't sacrifice goats to entities, then perhaps you're in the same place he is. And f you're there together, it's better to put forth an argument than an ad hominem which applies equally toward yourself. Being offended is merely an attitude which is of no transitive value; there is no point explaining that you're offended. Explain why, and your justification - and as you would desire they be of an open disposition to what you've argued, so too be of an open mind to their response, and subsequent interpretation of your words. They may misinterpret, so just clarify; don't move the goalposts though, or there is no point in playing.
