In fact these pedals is made for the new musicians who only use virtual amp and vurtual sound to register themself. When you have a real good valve amp you juste need to find the best clean sound you have in you like and after just add some compression pedal and an over drive above your guitar signal chain to obtain the same sound. It's exactly what was doing Stevie Ray Vaughan with in dumper amplifer special for hil when he add above the signal the tube screamer. It's 2 or max 3 at same time who will give this sound. I have understand this for a very long time ago. Nice video thank you👍😊

The wait is so long, the best way to do it is to go ahead and pony up and get the 4 jack version so you can try it both ways… I’ve got 2 of them.

Great!! Not too many people likes the high gain in the yellow side, I LOVE it that way. By the way, do you run the red side on overdrive or in boost mode? (I assume the yellow side is on overdrive mode) Do you adjust the presence trimmers? I have to raise them a bit just to not sound too nasal as a tube screamer... I hopw you can answer me!

I run both in overdrive modes and I have the trip pots turned down all the way for presence, I mostly play single coil pickups so I don't need the extra top end

It’s been 65 months since being placed on the waiting list. I emailed about a week ago and received confirmation that I’m indeed still on the list. I have a friend that has the original and a later version so I know what the pedal does to the guitar signal. I’ve been able to hear it first hand. It’s a great pedal. There will always be haters but there is no such thing as the holy grail pedal that will satisfy 100% of Electric players.

Mine took 4 years and I got high-gain both sides. Figure I can decrease gain on one channel but the option is there.

How do you decrease the gain? is it the OP Amp chip or you have to change something else?

@@shnobeltone it’s an option to do high or low gain on both or one side so I imagine it’s the chip. I just turn the gain down to get lower gain and more of a clean-ish boost

It's one of the resistor values that determines high vs low gain option. That's it. I've got the LY Rock clone and you can switch between high or low gain with an internal switch, that basically channels the circuit through a higher or lower valued resistor. No magic science or unicorn chips to it.

Dudes got a legit bat 🏏 lol all jokes aside I made a shootout video with the KOT and some others and I thought it was a really great pedal. This Daily Driver sounds amazing too. Gonna have to get myself one! I also really love my modded Blues Driver done by Sherriff Pedals. It sounds amazing

Both red and yellow side are identical right? So f I get the 4 jack option and higher gain on the red side, I could run it through the red first to the yellow and use it like this with a higher gain "yellow side"?

The Red side feeds into the Yellow and ive had a version that had a High Gain Red side and low gain yellow and to me the Lower Gain feeding into Higher gain sounded better to me when you stack the two together.

Just got mine last month, red normal, yellow high gain, buffer and four jacks. Waited 3.5 years. I have a Prince of Tone with high gain that I can insert in between the red and yellow and I have the best of all worlds.

I've never found this circuit particularly appealing. I had a great pedal from Reuss that is basically the same as the KoT, and it wasn't for me. I much prefer the Wampler Belle or the Daily Driver. That being said, I'm considering getting on the list for a Sun Face. Now that's something I can see myself using.

Take a good compressor (Wampler Alter Ego) a J. Rockett .45 Cal and put it before a J. Rockett Blue Note Pro. Adjust to your taste and find out how they all add to each other for Marshall tones.

With MXR's Duke of Tone collab with Analog Man being pretty close to the Prince of Tone, and the wait for a KoT going out to 4.5 years now, I think I'm going to get the Duke when it comes out later in the year, and then in late 2024/early 2025 or later when my name finally comes up on the waiting list, I might look at ordering then, though there's a lot of word around that the new ones aren't as good as the old ones.

I love that you covered this. The KOT is essential to my rig. I'm a fan of the low gain on both sides for all my guitars (filtertron, single coil, HB....they all work for me best in low gain both sides). I've owned several of these to try the different options and my least favorite was the high gain on the red side.

I don't know how long the wait list is now but it took 2 years to get my KOT. Find a place that has the Prince of Tone in stock, exactly half of the KOT and buy 2 and then you have no waiting.
