A very successful song in which Jenny's outstanding and unique power voice really comes into its own. Just recently a video was released on YT (Musicland 11.10.1985 - Swiss TV) in which Jenny sings Destiny live. Absolutely incredible, exactly the same quality as on the studio recording - even the presenter emphasizes it during the moderation! Jennifer's live qualities were unquestioned by all music critics at the time and by the fans anyway. Nowadays, fortunately, you can still see for yourself by watching enough videos of her live performances.

There's a video of her doing it on the Jimmy Tarbuck show in the UK. Proper live band and singing and backing singers. When she got to the tricky bit of the bridge "don't make me go out of my mind" she totally squawked it up, but she just smiles and carries on, true trooper! 😎

@@darrenbertram7289I know the video. Singing this difficult song so magnificently live is impressive.

This was her biggest hit in Germany. I prefer 'I Come Undone'. But that song is on another album.

Only nine songs to go before we get to the phenomenal "Heart Over Mind" album 😁

I think the line that escaped you was "and then he moved up towards me and towed me in, nobody's moved me quite like this!" You wanna hear a good malapropism? When I got the album back in '86, with the line "it's just like thunder that strikes my senses hard" I heard it as "...strikes my sexist heart"! Which I thought was a pretty bizarre line but then she's no stranger to abstract lyrics (looking at you, "Madonna's Eyes"!) It was about three years before someone else heard it and told me what the line was - the revelation sure struck my senses hard! 🤪

I always said this song would have been a better fit for Chare

Unfortunately, in my opinion the best song comes last: "Hero of a fool"
